Amin was reliable and conscientious in his communication and arrival. He did a number of projects, including patching plaster and replacing baseboards, fixing closet doors and a french door that was not closing. He was less successful with replacing dimmer switches in the kitchen but the handyman that subsequently replaced them explained that they were tricky as the original electrician that installed them did not properly identify the hot wire. Communication was tough at times but overall, Amin did a good job.
Great job installing closet doors. He even found the doors for me so I did not even have to shop for the doors
We had a small room we need expanded by taking out the closet and pushing the wall out. Every step of the way, Mike handled this project with competence and professionalism. He accomplished the job in about 30 hours, much faster than I believed possible. It looks great. Thank you Mike
Houman helped us improve our home by removing a large, outdated fireplace and chimney. This was no simple job. It required hammering out 7 tons of brick and concrete that made up the fireplace/chimney. The vacated space was then rebuilt to house a French door. An adjacent existing sliding door was also replaced with an identical French door. Houman was always on time, and held true to his estimate. He is very detail oriented, communicative, very clean, and organized. It was not just Houman, the rest of team were equally amiable and trustworthy. The best thing that I can say is that we will definitely employ Houman for future renovations to our home.
Roger put together a queen size Murphy bed from Costco for us at an extremely reasonable price. He was very professional, thorough, punctual, and talented! He is a perfectionist so made sure that everything was done correctly and looked great! He was more than willing to come back the very next day to help us with some other projects- building and hanging cabinets, assembling a toddler bed and hanging drapes and pictures. All A-plus work! I am looking forward to hiring him again to build a closet and mount TVs for us next!! I don't think there is anything Roger can't do, he's super skillfull! Would highly recommend him. :)
Connie is absolutely fantastic! She helped me get my poor garage organized and decluttered. I've already booked her again to help me with my closets. High recommend!!
Jerome did a great job installing my elfa closets ! He really helped me out.
Diana and her crew were EXCELLENT! Communication before the scheduled date right through to the completion was perfect. The crew was on time and worked effectively throughout their time on the job. They followed through on every area that needed to be addressed, plus some. This job was a deep clean and required muscle and they came through for us. Diana was so pleasant to speak with and she really listened and understood what was needed. Honest, Hardworking, Job done right! Seriously, look no further.
Lisa helped me organize my closets and garage. She arrived promptly, worked efficiently, gave and accepted suggestions and was always pleasant. I would hire her again
About a smooth and perfect experience I could have hoped for. Brian is great to work with and I am very happy with the closet shelving installation he did at my home.
I was pretty pleased with my experience with Lisa. She came in initially to help only with my home office, as I was preparing to increase my side business and was going to need to use it as an actual Office space, rather than storage. She in fact helped me with office, kitchen, closets and more. She came up with good re-purposing ideas for most of my existing pieces, and everything that I was holding onto that in fact didn't need to keep, was donated to the woman's shelter in DTLA (which she loaded up her own car with to drop off, and sent me the receipt for tax uses), Goodwill or donated to friends and co-workers (all good stuff, btu I just didn't need it all). She also was clever with how to organize items in groups and used my covered staircase (which I don't use) as a storage solution and put items like camping chairs up on the side walls to free up closet space in the main part of the house. She helped me declutter and rid myself of items that weren't practical anymore. We didn't do every single thing she suggested, as there's a need for compromise on some of the ideas, but I was overall very happy with how she helped me to better my home and items. She's got a tough attitude at times, but that's part of her job. She is there to help declutter your life... so take what she says as constructive, she's doing her job to help. Might be a bit tough to hear at the time, but she does a good job of lessening the CRAP most of us have. Haha! She is fun to talk with and comes up with plans for what you need and need to do once she's finished with the job and has goals set for what you can do on your own once she's gone, which helped me to keep on track and finish at the pace that I was comfortable with, like putting up added shelving in closets (which I needed help from my bf with), getting a more practical trash bin and more.
Awesome helper and encourager! I value this experience because I hold onto too many items! Marvelous Marv your the best! 💯💋❤💞
American Castles Mike To the RESCUE!!! The water heater at my rental property burst on a Friday afternoon causing some major damage to the house. The renters were furious because their items got damaged and the house wasn't inhabitable after that. On the inside, the bathroom wall and under stairway closet were all soaking wet and drywall/carpet/padding had to be removed immediately to prevent mole build up. On the garage side where the water heater located, the entire wall was destroyed. so I called my home insurance who provided me with their preferred plumber who quoted an additional $540 out of pocket on top of what the insurance was going to cover just so he can bring up the water heater installation to code! He told me that it will take him 1+ week to order the water heater (duh...get one from Home Depot take only 1hr...which is what Mike did) and that he can install a temporary water heater and will charge $137/wk! He also referred me to a water damage restoration company which I was not too happy with either. Since it was an emergency and I went with that company. They came in and ripped out all the wet drywall without caring for any molding; especially for garage doors and closet doors! It seemed like what ever the water heater didn't damage, they did. They also broke my water heater intake shut off valve. damage the water heater over flow copper pipe. All I can say is I will not use them again! Back to the plumber, something was smelling fishy about his quote and so I called and questioned this plumber. His response was "Well, I will need to flush out the gas line and calibrate your water pressure...upgrade to the new California safety quote...put in earthquake straps...install new vent line since the new water heater nowaday don't use the old vent line!". I was not convinces so I started to Google for good local contractor and AMERICAN CASTLES (Mike Tay is the owner) came up from Thumtack along with few others from other websites. I contacted them and they came in and provided me quotes. Mike was the last one I contacted. He arrived within 30min. He checked out the damages and explained to me what needs to get done sequentially to get everything back in proper operation for my tenants. Mike is very knowledgeable and very patient in explaining things. I told him what the plumber had said, he laughed and told me the whole thing was a rip off and a scam! Another crock of bull**** and advised me against it. He told me to call my insurance company to inquire about using other plumber. Sure enough I was offered the "cash out" option which I didn't even know was available. I took that option and went with Mike for the repair. Mike knows how important it is for my tenants to get the hot water running again once the water damage restoration company completed the clean up/dry out the area (took 1 week). As soon as that company removed their equipment, Mike had his crew come in the next day (Saturday) to repair the garage dry wall and finished the installation of the new water heater and brought it up to code on safety on Sunday! He even added the water pan and installed drain pipe for me. I didn't even know such a thing exists (talk about quality...he treats it like repairing his own home!). The best part is his charge for the whole job including new water heater, earthquake straps, valve, drain pan, vent and new connection is far way less than what that plumber was going to charge me. I loved the fact he took the time to show me how things should be done up to code and what works for my situation instead of just giving a price and walking away. He did an awesome job! Unfortunately my landlord insurance's deductible was so high, I asked Mike to give me a quote for fixing the damage in the garage and inside the house. Mike's quote was very competitive and the best part is he is always willing to work with me knowing my situation (thx Mike). My bathroom paint is 16 years old so it was a challenge to match the paint for the new wall. After only quoting me for painting a small wall inside the bathroom, Mike decided on his own to paint the entire bathroom without charging for it. Now that what I call TAKING PRIDE IN YOUR WORK AND STICKING TO YOUR WORD!!! My summary is, Mike successfully completed the entire job and installation in four days. I would highly recommend Mike to anyone and will definitely be using and referring him to everyone I know.
I was lucky enough to find Tara on a home organization website. She gave me an awesome deal. She has the greatest ideas and she is very deliberate. Her focus is on functionality & beauty. She has great respect for her clients and she asks you to decide what to keep & what to throw away. She is not a boot camp Sargent. She's funny and friendly and a pleasure to be around. She is great at providing explanations for functionality & convenience. I now have WILDLY MORE SPACE in the same apartment I've lived in for 4 years. She accomplished all this without mocking my complete organizational incompetence once, even though it begged to be made fun of.. Lol! I am looking forward to my two more appointments with her to tackle the hot mess that is my upstairs. The HOT MESS that was my bedroom is now an organized, easily maintained sleeping facility. Tara is great at reminding you that you're trying to change your life by changing and streamlining your living space. I find I sleep soundly and am not crazed looking for stuff when I wake up. My hours are crazy in that I work at 3:30 am to 12 noonwith rotating days off. Prior to Tara's help, I would wake up ' have to wade thru my closet in the hopes of finding a clean available uniform. Now all the clean uniforms are hung right in a row up front & all the dirty ones are in the hamper in the bathroom. It's worlds easier to plan for and I can sleep an extra 7 minutes because of it! Yeah!! Having all of my things easily accessible saves me an untold amount of stress. She's given me a lot of good techniques for maintaining my newly organized living space. Thus far I haven't had trouble keeping everything arranged as she had it. She's a friendly, funny, and obviously well organized person. She was able to get my vanity in perfect order in less than 20 minutes. Now all my hair things are neatly in one area, makeup separated in another... It was amazing to watch her. Hiring her is one of the best things I've ever done.
Wow George gave me a great quote for shaving 7 closet doors and putting them on track and to replace a toilet. The day scheduled to do the work, he managed to fix my refrigerator lines and repair a drawer as well as the closet doors and replacinh the toilet. He had to go look for some parts at a couple of stores and got the job done. We're very happy with his service. We will definitely call him again.
Muriel is outstanding! She can organize anything in any room. She is creative and brilliant with her ideas and she incorporates them efficiently. Muriel accessed my needs and intuitively incorporated her skills into just what I was looking for.
I first met Brad Snapir in 2011 when we met to discuss adding a second story onto our house in West Los Angeles which included a master bedroom, large bath, two closets and an additional reading room in back of the bedroom. All in all we added around 900 feet or perhaps a little more. It took us many meetings over almost a year's time before my husband and I were ready and prepared to begin the building process. Throughout this whole time Brad was understanding, patient and excellent at offering suggestions as to our remodel and willing to spend hours and hours meeting with us. We began the remodel in September of 2012 and we were back in the house in March of 2013 which was extremely quick. Needless to say there were questions and problems which arose during the building process but my husband, Brad and I were always able to work out whatever the problem was to everyone's satisfaction. If something had to be altered or changed in any way, Brad did it and did it well. We were very happy with the outcome of the remodel and happily moved back into the house after only 6 months although everyone told us it would be a year at least. Well they were wrong. Brad and his crew did the work quickly and well. If anything was not done exactly as I wanted they fixed it to be the way I wanted. I so appreciated the work that when I decided to remodel my kitchen in 2015 I immediately called Brad for the job. He worked with me in designing what I needed and ordering the necessary appliances, tile and countertops. I absolutely love the kitchen and would change nothing. It is exactly what I had in mind. The one other thing I want to point out about Brad is that over the years I have had several very very small jobs at the house which Brad has been so willing to just send one or two or three of his guys in a most timely manner and get the small job done. This has been a god-send as we all know how difficult it is to get work done on small jobs. I would recommend Brad and his company to anyone who wants a remodel large or small done and done well. We started on my garage/storage area today. Because of Audrey’s help, we made a significant dent in a daunting amount of stuff! She’s been amazing at helping me decide on what should be kept or donated. We will be working again together next week and I’m confident we will get rid of all the unneeded things that have lived in my garage for over 8 years. I Highly recommend Audrey! Extremely worth the investment! Wish I would have done this years ago!!!! And she’s super thoughtful, Kind and caring in addition to being skilled at organizing :)
David arrived on time and made quick work of installing 2 crystal light fixtures to replace the original ones in my master closet. I'm having a custom closet system installed soon and this lighting will complete the look. His pricing is reasonable and I will definitely use his services again and recommend him for all your handyman needs.
It is my pleasure to recommend Ann Cramer for any position requiring a person who is intelligent, organized, efficient, energetic, flexible, proactive, conscientious, honest, patient, caring and reliable. I have known Ann for over a year in her capacity as one of two primary assistants/caregivers for my elderly mother. Aside from her regular duties of caring for my mom, Ann has taken it upon herself to completely organize my mom's household, no small task and one that many others before her have tried, but failed to accomplish. Before Ann organized files, closets, and documented systems, the household was chaotic and there was no coordination amongst the many players involved in my moms care. Anns newly created systems are easy to maintain and provide a clear method of communicating expectations and resources to rotating weekend and agency caregivers. Ann would be an excellent organizational or executive assistant to any individual or organization and I highly recommend her.
We used Power Custom Builders to do a remodel on our master bedroom that included expanding the size of both the bedroom and the bathroom, adding a second closet and matching existing hardwood floors. The work was excellent quality. Jose was always responsive to any questions we had. His work crew was always on time and cleaned up daily. We love our completed master suite and will use Power Custom Builders for any projects we have in the future.
