Jeff(rey) was really great as a tutor. He taught me a lot of tricks for the SAT like how to break down vocabulary words and how to write an essay that will get a high score. I took the SAT once already and after working with Jeff my total score went up 300 points. He gave a lot of homework, but now that I have my higher scores back, I'm glad he did!
Great ACT Tutor! Joyee is a great ACT tutor. He is patient, encouraging, and has deep insight into the type questions the current ACT tests include. We engaged Joyee to help my daughter with her ACT - focusing on Science and Maths. Her initial diagnostic test results were decent - 33 out of 36. After two months of Joyees help, my daughter proceeded to take her ACT in September. She received the perfect score - 36 out of 36. We are very happy with her results and she couldnt have gotten the perfect score in such short period of time had we not engaged Joyee. Joyee: job well done! - From James, Irvine, CA on October 5th, 2015."
My daughter wasn't comfortable with her first tutor, Eric lined up another tutor, Christine and my daughter really liked her. They really care about making it right for you!
Stef is very nice and I feel very comfortable with her as I'm quite nervous speaking french. I have learned a lot in a short period of time and she certainly gives you more than the hour you pay for. I highly recommend anyone to hire her as their french teacher.
I have worked long and hard with Kenneth, my tutor from elite home tutoring. I originally thought working with a tutor while in college was foolish. I'm surrounded by people who I thought would be eager to help. Kenneth is a teacher who helps people like me in his free time. The difference is that Kenneth is more interested in my success than my classmates who are more interesryed in partying. Advanced calculus is difficult so I would say kens help is worth it.
Anne Cecile is a fantastic teacher. We have been working together since 2 weeks and I already feel that my conversational and writing abilities have improved. She is not only a native french tutor but also a skilled, experienced and passionate teacher. She is also very responsive, emails were replied within 2 to 5 hours. I really enjoy working with Anne Cecile and feel motivated to learn french more than ever as the lessons were informative and fun ! She also customizes the lessons depending on your goals and the areas in which you want to focus more. One more interesting point about Anne Cecile is her flexible schedule. She is available most of the time which made scheduling the lessons very easy. I would highly recommend Anne Cecile to anyone who wants to improve his french!
Nuria Fortier was my Spanish teacher for fall 2014 through the International Language School for Children and Adults. I am an adult, beginner level spanish language student with some previous beginner coursework. Our Saturday morning one-hour classes are held at Pitzer College and ran from September through December into January. I am very impressed with Nuria's language instruction. She meets the students where he/she is in their learning, yet also helps you to challenge yourself (for example speaking as much as possible in Spanish during lesson). She stresses the importance of grammar and verb conjugation structures within conversational Spanish lesson. She constructs lessons so that we come into contact with verbs and then we address the conjugation. She recommended two very good books for beginner level that we use during the lesson, and also introduces fun story reading (at children's level which is actually very good for beginner adult learner). Nuria is very professional and reliable, and encouraging for an adult language learner! Nothing negative to report. Nuria has also created a local Spanish speaking group of current and former students who meet to practice Spanish and I am looking forward to joining this group. Thank you Nuria! I recommend ILSCA and Nuria Fortier for Spanish language. Her Children's programs are also very well attended.
they were fantastic peter was prompt he met with our daughter to assess her skill set and found the appropriate tutor to work woth Her
Monique has been tutoring my daughter in French for almost a year now. She has been a godsend. Emily was close to failing French and now has improved in every aspect of her studies. Her quiz/test scores have gone up as well as her grade in French. Monique is very encouraging to my daughter in speaking and reading the language -- working with her on these aspects as well as studying for her quizzes and tests. Monique is very organized and knows what she would like to see for my daughter. She is always on time to our tutoring sessions and very flexible in scheduling time to see us. We will continue to call on Monique to tutor my daughter probably throughout her high school years. Thank you, Monique, for a job well done.
My daughter has been working with Peggy on her French for about a month and she has already brought home two As and a B+. We are so grateful to have Peggy as my daughter’s French tutor.

Victor is a genuine, intelligent, creative person, and an excellent tutor. I refer him with great confidence. Victor has an admirable ability to relate to different types of personalities and learning styles. He not only adapts his teaching to our daughters' unique situations, but seems excited by the challenge. Our children attend different high schools, and have their own unique talents and learning styles and challenges. One attends an academically rigorous private high school, while the other attends an academically challenging, local public school. Victor has tutored them both. Whether it's SAT tutoring or weekly math and bio, or a brush-up before finals, Victor is there. He is prompt, professional, highly competent and above all, energized by teaching. He asks questions. He does not spoon feed; rather, he takes the time to help our daughters discover the answers for themselves. My 17 year old earned a great SAT score, and a substantial 4-year scholarship to the university of her choice. She applied early-action to three schools, and gained admittance to them all. We credit Victor for helping her realize this dream. I now look forward to what my younger daughter will achieve, with his help, as he not only teaches her in the way she needs to be taught, but he cares. She knows this. He establishes a genuine relationship with his students; he helps them gain confidence, and trust themselves. I honestly cannot say enough about Victor, and the impact he has made on our family. He takes the worry and the (dare I say) struggle out of high school, creating space for my husband and I to be more supportive and less "annoying" to our children. It is a relief and a comfort to know such an intelligent, good person has our daughters' and therefore our own backs. Both of our girls' confidence and academic achievement have soared under Victor's tutelage.

My level of patience and willingness to help. My passion for reading and writing for others and myself.
I grew up part of my life in Los Angeles, California, and the other part in Merida Yucatan in Mexico. I have taught Spanish both to retirees living in Mexico from United States and Europe and in the United States. This is a side job I do about 8 to 10 hours per week. I am completely fluent in both English and Spanish. I am self-taught in Spanish, and although I am fluent now, when I was young, I had to figure the language out for myself. This gives me an edge that native Spanish speakers don't have. I have always gotten a lot of good feedback from everyone I have tutored in Spanish, and I hope to work with you in the near future!
I've been tutoring high school and undergraduate students in English/writing, math (up to college Algebra II), and the SAT for several years, and have a straight A record. I examine each student's personality, study and time management habits, strengths and weaknesses, learning styles, and thinking styles in order to customize a tutoring approach that takes advantages of their strengths while strengthening their weaknesses. The three major areas I tutor are: - English/writing - Math (up to college algebra) - SAT/ACT
