Awesome, awesome, awesome! Rob came out to my house in Hermosa Beach at the end of June to DJ my 80's Retro Summer Kick-Off party. Before he came out, we had a lot of communication about what I wanted, what was possible, and what the whole day would look like. On the day of the party, Rob and his assistant arrived about 2 hours early to set up: we were setting up, as well, but once Rob chose the ideal spot for his set up and we figured out where to plug in his gear, he took care of the rest. I had no idea what to expect, as far as lights and sound equipment was concerned, so I was impressed to see it all set up - it didn't take up too much space in the party area, so there was lots of room for dancing, but it sounded amazing. Our next door neighbors were having a party in their yard at the same time, and Rob played music that they could hear, but didn't cover up their conversation - in fact, they were so excited, they ended up joining my party later in the evening! One of their relatives, an older, non-verbal autistic aunt, even got up and danced - something she NEVER does! When the sun went down, and the party really got under way, everyone was dancing, making requests, and having a great time! Rob had virtually every song we asked to hear. People from around the neighborhood joined in the fun, drawn by the light effects and the music, and soon my patio was filled with a lot of very happy flash-backing people. The system Rob used makes for some very big sound - people could hear it blocks away (although part of that is the landscape in the area, too), but he managed to make it so that we did not have to shout at all or crowd together to hear ourselves talk comfortably. From first communication to the time he drove off, Rob was totally professional, very friendly, and open. My guests and I had an absolutely fantastic night, and PlayItAgainRob was a big part of that. I highly recommend him, and would definitely consider using him again for another party!

Rob contacted me recently and asked for my help in providing a review for his DJ services, and I am more than happy to oblige. When my wife and I were planning her birthday/graduation party, we really werent sure what we wanted to do by way of music/entertainment we considered hooking up an iPod to some speakers, but decided the day of the party to try to get an actual DJ out for the evening. We hired PlayItAgainRob. Rob and arrived early, with his own assistant, and took the extra time to introduce himself and to give us the opportunity to describe our plan for the evenings entertainment. We had to make some last-minute changes to Robs set-up, both for aesthetic reasons and safety we actually ended up putting him in our bedroom, with his speakers and lights just outside on the patio, and it worked brilliantly. He was very agreeable when changes were proposed, listened to our concerns, and was versatile in adapting his lights and speakers to meet both. When we saw the volume of lights and the size of Robs speakers, we were worried that they would dominate our party, but we could not have been more pleasantly surprised. He assured us that he understood what we wanted, and he needed no curtailing or input from us. Our guests absolutely loved coming into the yard and finding a cheerfully lit, disco atmosphere. Before and during dinner, Rob played music that was very pleasant and toe-tapping, and also allowed for effortless, normal conversation. The after-meal party was much more lively and full of dancing, and Rob was able to meet requests from funk to 80s pop to hip-hop and rock. He seemed very attentive to what kept everyone dancing, and we had a truly marvelous time

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, let's take into an account what the event is and what vision the clients sees. From there let's build a package of equipment, music and other services that best matches the event. We don't sell, we just evaluate and see how to best fit the clients vision. No two events are alike, each party is treated as a custom celebration whether a wedding, 90th birthday party or corporate holiday bash.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am part of a group of DJ's that continuously communicate and share knowledge and ideas. I am confident that I will stay up to date on the technology and techniques that will keep my performances fresh.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I love technology and have spent most of my career helping others make technology work for them. Mixing that love with music and good times gets me excited and provides me with a sense of accomplishment when a job is done well. At the end of the event, when I meet with the event organizer I want to know that all expectations were exceeded and that from that day forward I am 'their guy"..... I strive for that reaction!
