FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First we connect over the phone and then we do a in person, hands on consult. My initial consult is $250 and it takes as long as it takes. I am able to meet you and your family. During this time I can assess and prioritize a behavior plan based on a combination of safety/realistic expectations and budget.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
CPDT-KA certified professional dog trainer - knowledge assessed. Proud member of Pet Professional Guild, Animal Behavior Society, Behavior Education Network, International Pet Boarding and Services Association, CCPDT, and IAABC. All of these memberships have requirements such as experience, hours completed, exams, fees and codes of ethics to maintain good standing.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started doing rescue work ten years ago. I was so disheartened by the way my reactive dogs were treated I knew there were other options. The common practices that were used such as, bark collars, prong collars, slip leads to snap, shock/E collars, loud noises were clearly a product of misuse of human power. Once I realized this way of training was both humane AND effective I knew that I found my forever life.
