Nicola even set me up with an incredilble Hollywood Hair Stylist to give me a look I can be proud and confident of. Turn around time was even better than I had anticipated. She checked in regualarly so I knew she was on top of the project and made me feel like a priortity though she has many high profile clients. I love the fact that she is sourcing environmentally and socially responsible clothing brands however possible. So you not only feel great about how you look but good about your choices in brands as well. At the end she even provided a "Look book" so I always know how to put the combinations of clothes together long after our styling session. Although I love in Orange County Nicola was willing to make the drive from LA to give me a styling session where we were able to put all the pieces into specific outifts and even make sure things fit properly. I usually get incredibly overwhelmed with all the decision making but she helped take away all the anxiety giving me great feedback and advice so I was confident in every decision. She worked very hard to understand the look I was going for and knocked it out of the park when suggesting brands, styles, and sizes. Looking forward to working with her again in the fall/winter to find some new coats and layers. I usually go for a cool, daytime 'jeans and sneakers plus statement-item' vibe, but I had a film release coming up and needed more outfit options for evening/creative events. I’ve worked with Nicola for years in a film context and seen how effortlessly, and stylishly, she designs for, and dresses, up to 200 people. So I asked her to help me to put some outfits together that would push my edge, but still feel like ‘me’. Nicola's love of life, fashion, and people literally radiates out of her, giving her absolute artistry when it comes to matching person to piece. I'm a clothes-lover so having someone help me expand into all the dimensions of me, expressed through style, is awesome! - What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I can charge by the hour, day or a subscription rate depending on what works best for my client. The more hours booked, the better the rate :-) I will donate a percentage of my fee to a charity of my client’s choice.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I will set up a 30-60 min phone or Zoom call to discuss what the missing links are in my client's wardrobe and/or what they are hoping to achieve from hiring a personal stylist. I will then offer suggestions regarding the best strategy and/or level of service that would work best for them. Ideally they will answer a quick questionnaire before the call, to help streamline the process and save time.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I graduated from The Whitehouse Institute of Design in Sydney, Australia with a diploma in Fashion Design and Styling. I went on to become a fashion stylist for 8 years, which included editorial and advertising stills, runway shows, music videos and styling celebrities. I then decided to broaden my skill set by exploring the film industry, and proceeded to become one of Australia’s leading costume designers. In 2010, I moved to Los Angeles to pursue my dream of working in Hollywood. Throughout my film career, I have designed award winning feature films, short films, tv series and over two hundred commercials. I have now further expanded my horizons and set up my own Personal Styling and Coaching business.
