They said they could only do so much with the stained carpet but overall they did a good job. Did not move the China cabinet as advertised. Also unable to do shower tile and grout clean up due to different type of grout was used.

Marc and Sheri came in and did an amazing job. They opened up walls...laid floor down....painted....textured....ceilings...plumbing....redid our entire kitchen with new cabinets....granite and fixtures as well as completed both bathrooms......making one shower larger for us. It was a long process but we are very happy with our home. Remodeling never goes perfect but in the end everything was completed. Take a look at the photos!!!!

We wanted new granite counter tops for our kitchen and a island built. We wanted our island to match our existing kitchen cabinets color as well. Germain came out the same day I reached out to him to measure and gave us an estimate, turn around time, and was very informative, professional, and very reasonable. Throughout the process, he was always in contact with us, giving us updates, and keeping us informed of how the work was coming along on my island. The island we had made has 2 trash can pull out on one side, and a cookware organizer that was customized to fit in the middle cabinet, and another cabinet for storage, he later informed us we had room to add 4 more drawers up top, which we accepted to have done. It came out great, the color of the island was identical to our existing cabinets. We were very impressed. His guys he had doing the granite work were also very professional, punctual, and did a beautiful job on the counter tops. I would definitely be using Germain again for our future projects as he's a licensed general contractor. It was a nice, stress free, experience to upgrade our kitchen working with Germain at Greenview Construction.

Repairing cops and polishing granite counter was done well and speedily. Eric charged $ 250 whereas another company had demanded $ 800 for the same work.

I first met Brad Snapir in 2011 when we met to discuss adding a second story onto our house in West Los Angeles which included a master bedroom, large bath, two closets and an additional reading room in back of the bedroom. All in all we added around 900 feet or perhaps a little more. It took us many meetings over almost a year's time before my husband and I were ready and prepared to begin the building process. Throughout this whole time Brad was understanding, patient and excellent at offering suggestions as to our remodel and willing to spend hours and hours meeting with us. We began the remodel in September of 2012 and we were back in the house in March of 2013 which was extremely quick. Needless to say there were questions and problems which arose during the building process but my husband, Brad and I were always able to work out whatever the problem was to everyone's satisfaction. If something had to be altered or changed in any way, Brad did it and did it well. We were very happy with the outcome of the remodel and happily moved back into the house after only 6 months although everyone told us it would be a year at least. Well they were wrong. Brad and his crew did the work quickly and well. If anything was not done exactly as I wanted they fixed it to be the way I wanted. I so appreciated the work that when I decided to remodel my kitchen in 2015 I immediately called Brad for the job. He worked with me in designing what I needed and ordering the necessary appliances, tile and countertops. I absolutely love the kitchen and would change nothing. It is exactly what I had in mind. The one other thing I want to point out about Brad is that over the years I have had several very very small jobs at the house which Brad has been so willing to just send one or two or three of his guys in a most timely manner and get the small job done. This has been a god-send as we all know how difficult it is to get work done on small jobs. I would recommend Brad and his company to anyone who wants a remodel large or small done and done well. The polite and efficient technicians arrived in a clean company vehicle, prepped the extensive area around the marble to be polished, and spent 3 days bringing the dull marble to a highly reflective state. Following polishing the technicians removed all tape, dust curtains, and floor runners and swept the work area clean. Before departing we were given helpful suggestions for maintaining the luster of this notoriously soft stone product. All in all a very satisfactory experience with this vendor and we will use them again for our granite projects.

Alejandro and crew did the best job they could with my old and scratched linoleum floors. They were on time and completed the job within the time quoted. The floors were drying so I could not do a walk through before Alejandro left. When I did, I noticed some spots that were missed, wax was sprayed all over my china cabinet, and a small trinket had been knocked down and broken. I cleaned up the China cabinet and glued the trinket back together. I would suggest doing a walk through to allow Alejandro to correct any issues before he leaves, as I'm sure he would have for me if I had. Then, I would have been happy to give him 5 stars.

I had neglected my countertops for years and they had become really dull. Ron of Shine2 Perfection was able to restore them back to their original luster and shine within a few hours. I had forgotten how beautiful the granite used to be until Ron finished and I could actually see my reflection. I was so pleased and happy. An outstanding job. Thanks, Ron.

My granite countertops were in desperate need of a polish. Over time, water stains and the wrong cleaning products caused my granite to be dull and hazy. I also had a lot of ring stains from wet glasses being placed on the countertops. Ron brought my counters back to life. The luster and sheen is back. I'm reluctant to put any items back on the counters because they're so shiny. It's been over 5 years since I had the granite counters installed and I didn't realize how in such bad shape they were. But now, I can see my reflection... It's great. Thanks, Ron, for your expertise and knowledge in bringing my granite counters tops to such a beautiful luster.

This was the first time I used Thumbtack, as I just moved into a renovated home and the sellers had not left enough room for me to have my fridge rest comfortably in its slot due to the countertop eating away space, so I needed an experienced professional to cut away some of my granite. I submitted an inquiry and Paul was quick to respond, and had even come out the same day and had charged me a reasonable price, after having gotten quotes from other Masonry cutters. Paul was thoughtful, conscientious, and alleviated my concerns about cracking the full top. I highly recommend Paul for his fairness, responsiveness, and overall quality work. Thank you Paul!!

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How can I get my grout clean?

Dirt, mildew and grime can make your grout lines look downright tragic. If you have the ability, DIY tile and grout cleaning is definitely doable. Your main obstacles are time, project size, availability of the right materials and effort. Your first step in tile and grout cleaning is making sure the surface area is cleaned of basic dirt and buildup and wiped down. Be sure not to use a bleach-based cleaning agent, which could react dangerously with the vinegar used in later steps.

Depending on the delicacy of your tile and grout, it may be wise to start with water and friction before proceeding to a cleaning solution. In the shower you can spray the area while brushing gently, or use a spray bottle filled with warm water on countertops or floors. If water won’t do the trick, try a solution of equal parts warm water and white vinegar, and repeat the gentle brushing motion. This combination should begin to lift dirt and grime from the grout. For additional tile and grout cleaning power, baking soda applied directly to grout lines and sprayed with your water vinegar solution can help suds off sticky grime. If your DIY cleaning solutions aren’t doing the trick, store-bought sprays and pastes may have more cleansing power. Rinse thoroughly after cleaning and enjoy your sparkling clean grout.

Tile and grout cleaning supplies include:

    • Old standard or electric toothbrush
    • Stiff bristle brush
    • Spray bottle
    • White vinegar
    • Commercial grout cleaner

How much does it cost to clean tile and grout?

The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Pros may charge a flat fee or by the square foot. Rates can vary depending on the type of tile and grout you have (more delicate tiles may mean specialized products or careful handwashing), how dirty your tile and grout are, and what part of the country you are in (regional labor rates and costs to do business affect costs). For example, one floor cleaning company charges 75 cents per square foot for tile and grout cleaning for projects that permit cleaning by machine. Another company may charge $30-$50 per hour for hand-cleaning of tiles. Companies often charge a minimum fee for services to ensure their business expenses are met when they accept a job, no matter how small. In addition, a tile and flooring cleaning professional may charge added fees, such as $25 or more, to move heavy furniture or appliances.

How do professionals clean tile and grout?

If you need tile and grout cleaning and don’t have the time or mobility for scrubbing your entire house on your hands and knees, it’s time to turn to the pros. Tile and grout cleaning professionals have industrial-grade machines designed for the sole task of cleaning the porous materials of grout and tile. Typically, a cleaning pro will come out to assess the job and provide you with a quote. Often they charge per square foot (for example, 75 cents per square foot), with higher prices or an hourly rate for areas that will need hand cleaning. The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Once onsite, the pros thoroughly clean the area by wiping or sweeping down and then vacuuming up any dry dirt. Next a chemical tile cleaner is sprayed over the surface, causing dirt to loosen and adhere to the spray; the industry term for this is “suspension.” The pros then clean the floor with professional-strength machines, which often use a combination of steam, brushes and vacuum to loosen, agitate and lift entrenched dirt. Your floor is then rinsed, removing all the spray. Usually a small room can be cleaned in under an hour. Applying a sealant afterward is recommend and will also affect cost.
