Introduction: Hi. I'd love to teach you guitar or bass lessons. You'll have fun and will learn a lot! I teach private lessons out of my home in Silver Lake, or I can travel to you. I also teach lesson on video chat if you aren't in the area. I'm a professional musician. I am a 32-year-old guitarist, and I've been playing guitar since I was six. I took lessons from the age of 7 throughout college and majored in music, playing the guitar. I can teach rock, blues, country, jazz, improvisational technique, songwriting, etc. to people of all ages. My students currently range from the ages of 7-65. I just finished a year-long tour as Norah Jones' guitarist and have also toured with Ben Kweller (RCA), HYMNS (guitar), The Candles (bass), The Redwalls (Capitol), +/-, Tracy Bonham (Grammy nominated), Daniel Johnston, The Pierces, etc. I've also played with Bob Weir and Phil Lesh of the Grateful Dead as well as Mike Gordon and Jon Fishman from Phish. I've played on every major late-night TV shows and most music shows as well (Austin City Limits, Storytellers, Jools Holland, etc.). I take a very fun and patient approach to my lessons. I try to mold the lesson around the player since everyone plays differently and likes different things. I really try to find what the player wants to do and teach him or her those things while adding some theory and fundamentals to back up the songs.
