Introduction: Personalized guitar, voice, piano, and songwriting lessons from an industry professional. Teaching style is tailored to individual goals and lifestyles. I am a passionate educator and player - look forward to connecting! My beginner students typically enjoy learning new songs, and mastering chords and strumming patterns. Advance students often reach out to me for discussions on music theory, fretboard mastery, ear training, improvisation, and in preparation for performances. I also offer audio recording services as an extension of lessons or for completely separate projects. I record into a UAD Apollo with a selection of Sennheiser and Aston microphones. Message me for more technical details.

Guitar Lessons

Leora is such a laid back and enjoyable great guitar teacher to work with! She makes lessons enjoyable and personable, giving tips and exercises to work on that are fit for your level. I feel like I’ve already grown so much in my knowledge and ability just from having worked with her this past month. Highly recommended!

Working with Leora was incredible. I had always wanted to learn guitar but found it so challenging, especially now that I am an adult. Leora was really great at breaking it down step by step and then putting it all together to give me a well rounded view of how it all worked and why. She is easy to talk to, very accommodating, and has a vast knowledge of musical artists and genres. It is clear that is very well studied and talented, I would highly recommend her!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Discounts on packages. Rates vary if they require me to travel to your own home/studio.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

The first lesson is important to understand a students playing level and familiarity with the guitar. Secondly, we determine individual goals and each students ideal practice schedule. From there on, the lessons are split between exercises for the hands and ear, alongside more creative endeavors. Examples can be triads, chords, scales, intervals, general fretboard mastery, alternative and hybrid picking techniques, strumming and fingerpicking techniques, improvisation, etc. Creatively, we work on songs. These can bee jazz, classical, rock, etc., based on the students desires. I welcome my students to bring me any piece of music they are interested in, and i will have it prepared to teach for them the nest lesson. For songwriting students, we work on everything from the melody, harmony, lyrics, and basic production ideas and practices.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I hold a Bachelors from USC's Thornton School of Music, as well as a certificate from Berklee College of Music. I've worked allover the music scene in LA - at a mastering studio, in writing sessions for major label signed artists, recording sessions, a booking agency, performing, etc.
