Josh over promised and failed to delivered. I hired him to fix my iPort, install a new receiver, and reorganize my AV closet, and I was open to expanding into other services. He bid 6 hours to install a rack, and after 4 days of service disruption, here is what I was left with: * 3 of my 4 TVs were no longer operational * Blu-ray player was not working * Sling box was not working * His installation (all components mounted on top of each other) did not allow for proper venting, especially of the Denon receiver and DISH DVR, which were extremely hot 24 hours after installation * Denon receiver was installed, but sound was never setup (no audible bass) * My original call to him was to fix my iPort (IW-20). He replaced the low end model with the highest end model, with excess functionality which was not needed or desired. When I questioned him (before installation), he told me the low end was no longer available. It is in fact widely available for approx $100 * I was charged $40 for a sheet of plywood * New HDMI cables were sold when there was nothing wrong with the existing ones * He could not produce receipts for anything he invoiced me * He was unable to produce references when I asked for them, yet he claimed he'd done this a million times * He was unable to mount the rack successfully without my help in assembling it problem * The swing rack did not swing out to allow access, and the cables were cut too short to pull out the components and therefore the $200 for the Swing Kit was useless Despite clarifying up front that I was looking for an electrician to fix my AV issues, Josh was intent on selling me a Control 4 solution, and didn't listen when I repeatedly made it clear that all I wanted was my iPort fixed, new receiver installed, AV closet reorganized, and MAYBE, if he could do those 3 things well, I would hire him to automate my house. This complaint was generated due to the time frame necessary to complete the project. The customer. Despite the fact that I told the customer I would not bill any additional time over the proposed total hours, and complete the project to satisfaction, the customer sent me out, promised to pay for the equipment minus the labor and never paid for the equipment or labor. I agreed to compensate for the lost time, but ultimately this was not good enough. I had to file a suit against this client. I was awarded the full balance for labor and equipment. I extend a 100% satisfaction guarantee, together with a free two year warranty of all electronics and installation labor provided. I have many current reviews and I am the only 5 star rated C-7 contractor on HomeAdvisor.com.
They wired my new house for home theater, cameras, lights, and speakers then came back and did a great job putting in all the equipment and getting everything working. I will always use Project Automate for all my electronics. As a woman without any knowledge of how this stuff is done, I know I received a fair price and the best service. The 100% satisfaction guarantee was important to me, with the 1 year warranty included. I'll tell everyone about Josh who was friendly and smart, able to put things in terms I could understand.
