Introduction: Having my bachelor's degree in television has definitely benefitted my career as a makeup artist in Los Angles because so much of the work I do is put in front of a camera. I need to know how to apply product so that it looks best on-screen, and working behind the scenes in production has helped lay a solid foundation for my talents. My technical training has helped me become a better makeup artist by teaching me how to work well under the pressure of time constraints- which happens frequently on set. It also taught me to show up ready to produce results both on my own or as part of a team, and to be prepared for anything!

Mel was our one and only make-up artist for a two week shoot in Maine during the summer of 2012. She completed work on a cast of six main characters and numerous day players / extras. She worked within the limited timeframe she was given while achieving results above and beyond our expectations. She worked extremely well with our child actor who had to go through a severe transformation over the course of the shoot from a being healthy looking 12-year-old, to a boy who'd spent nine days lost in the woods of Maine. His make-up progression was phenomenal and is one of the main highlights of the film. Mel deeply cares about the quality of her work, I'd hire her again in an instant!
