I needed math tutoring for my son and hired Addy and Lilit for my son. I was very satisfied with his improvement and even more importantly, he was excited to finally get it.Mar 8, 2017Verified
If I payed $75 for tutoring and got assistance doing a exam from this professional math tutor I would expect my score to be higher than 40 or 62 out of 100. Wasn't worth it. No preparation for actual one on one time =( 2hours spent together & didnt learn one needed concept. Try a cheaper tutor, probably get better results...sorry Addy I was dissapointed & was paying 75 $ an hour for some reason, can I get some refund. I honestly feel robbed, by an addition $35...Jan 30, 2016VerifiedIndividualized Tutoring and Test Prep's reply
Hi Ruth, Thank you for your feedback; I did reach out to you and haven't heard back yet. I'm sorry your experience was unpleasant. We worked together for about 3 months, and I remember being very open and attentive to your needs. I remember you being open to the pricing, since it was $75 per WEEK, not per hour, of my assistance. I also remember our first meeting where I provided you with a brand new calculator, and a notebook where you could keep all of our lesson notes organized. I explained that I do this for all of my new students, as a just in case. This just speaks to my preparation... But specific to you, I remember us doing about 20 questions of your online math homework. Most were somewhat easier, and the problem we ran into was a lack of knowledge of multiplication facts. We went over how to use the calculator I gave you, remember? Also, there were about 3 problems where I felt you got "stuck", and told you to not worry about them because on the real test, you you would have to sacrifice those points in order to make sure you could do the rest. All of this happened about 6 weeks into your course, where all of your homework assignments were past due, and thus locked. There was no way you would have gotten an A or B, given what your teacher said was on your syllabus. We discussed this, and that's how we figured out in order to pass, you'd need quite a bit more of my time, which is why you were charged PER WEEK.
Excellent Math tutor. Responsive, patient, accommodating. Great!!Aug 29, 2015Verified
Where to start... We first used Addy with our daughter who is highly motivated and quite smart but was in a very advanced math class and needed additional help. Addy was extremely helpful and my daughter received the highest ranking in her IB math classes. Two years passed and my son was failing Algebra II. We called Addy and she came to the rescue. He went from potentially going to summer school for failing grades to receiving a B- first semester. He feels he is back on track and can get an A. This is all because of Addy's tutoring!!!Dec 31, 2016Individualized Tutoring and Test Prep's reply

- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? Our work starts as soon as you call us. We take the initial phone call seriously, as it really helps in the decision to match a particular tutor to your student. In general, we make sure to select a tutor whose tutoring style is a match, rather than go strictly by that tutor's resume.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Learning Period favors hiring fully-credentialed teachers with anywhere from 3 to 5 years of verifiable classroom experience.
- What types of customers have you worked with?Test Prep services are the most requested - Learning Period tutoring improves students' grades in core classes, as well as provides instruction for high-stakes college admissions tests. In addition, we've worked with all grades (Kindergarten to 12th, undergraduate students, graduate students...) and all educational situations: last-minute test prep, home schooled actors and athletes, adult students going back to school, and of course, traditional k-12 students.
