Wheel of Fortune Junk Removal and Hauling
About this pro
Brett is fantastic!! Very professional, friendly, fast and great price! I had some extra items and Brett took them at no extra charge. Highly recommend!!Jul 20, 2018Verified
I valued the quick response and accommodation to the job request.Jun 26, 2018Verified
Unfortunately, even though I sent pictures of the junk, the quote was the wrong amount. He got partway thru loading the junk and then said he needed to renegotiate since the amount he quoted was barely enough to cover the dumping fee. Next time I suggest that if he can't tell from the pictures, to view the project. OR before he even starts say "this is more than I thought". I get that people want to bid low to get the bid, but that's not fair to tell the client partway thru "oops my bid was too small"...Jun 24, 2018VerifiedBrett H.'s reply
Hi Eric! I’m sorry we weren’t able to work this out. The pictures you attached to the job were misleading, and I suspect intentionally. And it wasn’t until I got into the job that I realized exactly how much work it entailed. I would have been happy to accommodate you for a price that I guarantee would have been lower than you will end up paying for this. But you weren’t interested in even hearing what that price was. Instead you just closed your door in my face. I don’t bid low to get jobs. I’m an honest, hard working individual, and I would have done the job for a very fair price. If you’re ever interested in hearing the price adjustment I had in mind, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. I think you’ll be incredibly surprised.
Ben was super-easy to get ahold of for scheduling purposes. He showed up early, finished quickly, didn't charge an exorbitant amount and it was a pleasure meeting him. Highly recommend.Jun 7, 2018Verified
Brett was awesome! We had a lot more stuff than one pick-up truck and he offered a fair deal. Would definitely hire againJun 6, 2018Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? For removal and hauling, I charge by how much space your items occupy in my truck. The average single "pickup truck load" (which is the unit of measurement Thumbtack uses) usually starts at $115, 2-3 pickup truck loads usually start at $200. Single item pickups, like just a couch or a mattress, start at $65. I also offer discounts if your items are already sitting on the curb or in the driveway. If you require restoration or reselling services, I charge $40/hour for the time I put into the effort. However, prices can change based on the items you need removed, and the particular services you require. Once we talk about the job, it'll be easier for me to provide you with a more accurate estimate of the final price.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? It's best to have a phone conversation about exactly what you need done. And if possible, it's always helpful to provide pictures of the items you have. Generally, after this conversation, I can give you an accurate estimate of what I would charge. There are times I may determine the best course of action is for me to swing by and take a look at everything you need removed. We can set up a time that works for you, and I'll come by and take a look - free of charge and no obligation.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have nearly 15 years of experience working for moving companies, delivering furniture, hauling junk, and doing general handyman work. I'm a jack of all trades, and always happy to help!
