I've been taking lessons from Rose for about 8 months. I was looking for someone who was able to be flexible with lesson timing as well as able to teach piano fundamentals to an adult student with a music background, and Rose has been a pleasure to work with. She has been flexible and patient with me through my busy work travel schedule, and has been attentive and inspiring during lessons, encouraging different approaches and slow practice. The music she has me working on is both challenging and level-set for my current ability level and practice time. I would definitely recommend Rose as a teacher!

I had the pleasure of learning piano under Rose. What I enjoyed the most in taking her private classes is after she assessed where i was, she empowered me to go beyond my level. Each class I quickly learned a completely new unit, building upon the techniques learned from classes before and it felt like a breeze, especially for someone at the beginners level. What was most fun was when Rose joined in the piano playing, turning us into a duet. I highly recommend learning piano with Rose. She’s professional, kind and encouraging. Whatever your goal is I’m sure she’ll help you go beyond it with ease.

I personally do not have official piano lessons with Ms. Rose, but I do ask her for piano playing tips and advice every Sunday when I see her in church. She is always helpful, inspirational, and amazing to talk with about piano and music in general.

"Dr. Rose Chen is knowledgeable in music and passionate about teaching music. Besides teaching me how to read the symbols on the sheet music, she emphasizes on ear training and musicianship. She has helped me to become a better sight-reader and my understanding of music has allowed me to start writing my own music- all thanks to Dr. Chen. She is also capable of teaching skills needed to play different styles of music. My lessons always include classical pieces and some of my favorite songs by Stevie Wonder. I highly recommend Dr. Chen as a piano teacher."

First Lesson is free. $65 for an hour $55 for 45 minutes
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Piano lessons: If you are a beginner we will start with learning the musical ABCs and you will be playing a simple melody on the piano after one lesson. If you are an intermediate/advanced player, we will work on technique, musicianship, theory, and explore repertoire from all styles.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a doctorate degree in music and have performed internationally. I've been teaching music/piano and conducting bands/choirs for more than 10 years.
