She was fantastic during the initial phone consultation. A great listener, very calming and reassuring and gave me a detailed run-down of what to look forward in coming sessions. I look forward to her help :)

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), licensed by the State of California. I have my M.A. in Clinical Psychology with an MFT emphasis from Pepperdine University, and my B.A. in Psychology from UCLA. I have been working with clients since 2011. Prior to opening my private practice in 2014, I completed my training at Airport Marina Counseling Center, one of the top therapist training sites in Los Angeles. I have also trained as a therapist and case manager at a foster family agency where I worked with children and families, and as a crisis counselor with the National Suicide Prevention Center. I obtained my Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.) in Organizational Leadership from Pepperdine University, where I researched professional burnout and published my dissertation, Best Practices for Managing Burnout in Attorneys. I am a former HR Manager who intimately understands how the interaction between our personal and professional lives contribute to our overall wellbeing.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I work with motivated professionals and couples to help them address personal, relational, and occupational concerns, including (non-exhaustive list): - life transitions - communication - conflict resolution - burnout and work stress - general lack of fulfillment - depressed mood - excessive worry or anxiety

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

One of the most important factors in determining a successful outcome in therapy is the relationship between therapist and client. The relationship with your therapist is more important than the therapist's theoretical orientation or even the interventions that are used. This is backed by research and makes sense - if you feel comfortable with your therapist, you are more likely to trust them, be open and honest, and be willing to do the work. Make sure you find a therapist who is a great fit, with whom you are willing to build a connection.
