Ivan is awesome! He has a skilled and intuitive ear, an expert "bedside manner", as in, if he senses or knows that a take could be better, he won't BS you, lose patience, or let the end product suffer by trying to "fix it in the mix." He took the time to listen and familiarize himself with our pre-pro demos and to ask detailed questions about what we were going for so he could be best help us to fulfill our vision. He was a team player until we were 100% happy and signed off, and we definitely got an exceptional value for the money and time that we invested.

Listen up please: I had screened several sound engineers while trying to find the right guy for the record we are making. I had been introduced to a sound engineer who has mixed and mastered for Bob Dylan and several other world renowned recording artists. Their fee started at $600 per day with a minimum commitment of 2 weeks. A friend who's band I managed insisted that I speak to his sound guy /producer. All these options I considered. I spoke with several sound engineers who had solicited me via Thumbtack. None of them understood what my vision was. Then I replied to Ivan Alexis Rivera of IAR RECORDINGS. When he listened to a track that I had forwarded to him, by the very words of his first sentence that he chose to respond with, I immediately knew that we were on the same page. He speaks my language, that being Rock and Roll. And although I am more than twice young Mr. Rivera's age, he is an absolutely gifted, brilliant engineer. We worked for the first time last night for about 9 hours and I am very much blown away at his skills behind the console. We have much work ahead of us, and I couldn't be happier with his professionalism and talent. Remember that name, Ivan Alexis Rivera of IAR RECORDINGS. He is going to the top!!!
