FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've been writing for almost 20 years now. When I was ten, and wanted to be an actress, my dad said, "You should be a writer." I think he liked that, though I talked too much, my written notes were always succinct. Now that I write full-time, I really enjoy the variety and work.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I do a lot of press releases, I have regular social media clients, I do resumes at least once a month. And I'm always working on at least one screenplay for a client. That usually takes me about 2-3 months total if I'm writing it from scratch. I also write a lot of web copy, sometimes full sites, sometimes just edits.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure there's a great match between you, as it will make the working relationship smoother. The cheapest person may not always be the best for your needs. Ask whatever questions you have up front - I'm willing to answer anything, so long as it helps make the client more comfortable. Be prepared to pay part up front and part on completion if you've never worked with that service provider before, but always hold a portion back until the job is done, since it protects you. Ask for, and review, samples of their previous work; also ask for, and call, references -- they can really help make the experience clear before you start. Good luck!!
