FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have more than 20 years of experience teaching Spanish, and almost all of them have been from word of mouth. I am very thorough and detailed in my work and I make it fun, interesting, approachable and attainable. This is my Thumbtack fee for students in need due to Covid-19, my regular fee is much higher. This is a good deal for the work I do. If you are not someone facing hardship at this moment and can afford my regular pricing, please let me know, as I also need to be helped, while helping others who really need it.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
If they're in school, I would first talk to them about what their needs are, where do they feel they're lacking a little, and focus on that. For adults students, I have them get a book I like to work with (quite inexpensive), and use my "read, write, hear, speak" method. I make my lessons fun, interesting, cultural, and I leave homework.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attended UCLA. I'm a graduate of the Civil, Medical, Criminal and Legal Interpreter and Translator Program -Spanish/English-Spanish/English. I've been teaching and tutoring children from Marlborough, Harvard-Westlake, Buckley, Pali High, Crossroads, Beverly Hills High, Archer, Brentwood and many other very prestigious schools for over 17 years with wonderful results. I've also worked with students and teachers from UCLA, USC, SMC, and other Colleges and Universities. And, I've had the pleasure to work with businessmen/women to improve their grammar, conversation and language skills for their work and for travel to better understand and communicate with co-workers, employees or abroad.
