Chef Coleman helped my family plan a menu for our Dad's 100th Birthday brunch for 100 guests at the Veterans Hall in Pleasanton. He is an excellent communicator and responds to any question in a reasonable amount of time. He made adjustment to our menu with any additional cost. He was extremely efficient, on time and very professional. The food was not only hot and delicious but plentiful. Our guests raved about the quality and the beautiful presentation. Our family would not hesitate to use him again and we highly recommend him for any occasion!
They catered the appetizers and dinner and provided servers, tables and linens. The food was delicious and competitively priced. Evan was very responsive and made planning quick and easy.
Delicious dinner dropped off for 6 persons. Chef Rocco was professional and very responsive. The meal was easy to heat and assemble. Everyone enjoyed the food and clean up was minimal. Will definitely use Chef Rocco again. Thank you!

I had a great experience with hiring Kitchenina as our caterers for an event with 40 people. The communication was always prompt, polite and friendly. They did a great job on the day of the event to ensure that the food was delivered on time (despite the traffic/weather conditions) and made my job as the event organizer much easier. I would definitely work with Kitchenina again in the future, and regret that I did not take photos of the food! (Thanks for the brownies as well!)
Stephanie catered brunch for 13 of us and everything was fantastic. She was right on time, everything was wrapped up and ready to serve, and all of the dishes were delicious! A couple of friends even asked about how I found her in case they had a future event,I would definitely use her catering service again.
As a event coordinator I have worked with Steve and the folks at DNL Catering on many special occasions. We have worked together on wedding and baby showers, brunches, wedding receptions, work Christmas parties and anniversary parties. They always provide a menu to your request and the playing of the food is always on beautiful plates and dishes, not aluminum trays. There are always compliments on the foods from the guests. We are always a happy with the selections. Their website makes it easy to browse their menu and I always receive a reply promptly when I submit an event request online. DNL Catering is on my preferred vendor list when I meet with future clients. I have used them in my own home numerous times. They are my 'go to' caterers for any event.
Chef Chet prepared a beautiful buffet dinner for a graduation garden party. His menu was creative, fresh and delicious! Presentation and service were excellent. Highly recommend.

Matt was amazing! I just started a new role at work, directly serving the Chairman of our company. I had 5 days to plan a private dinner for 31 guests from 3,000 miles away...without seeing the space. There were so many other pieces for me to manage outside of food and tables/chairs. Matt was an absolute lifesaver. He went to the house beforehand and looked at the space to recommend a set up. We changed several details in the short 3 days we had to plan (after he was selected as vendor). Matt kept with all the changes. The day of, there was a mix up with flower arrangements (totally my fault). Matt jumped in to save the day driving to a local florist and picking up flowers. I did not have the pleasure of eating the food, but the chairman’s wife told me how good it was. She said all guests were very happy. The next day, the chairman emailed me & my supervisor to comment on the success of the event. Oh, and his pricing is incredible. I would absolutely hire them again.
Rose Johnson Catering was my party partner for our son’s engagement celebration last weekend in Orinda. The party was a huge success, and Rose and her team deserve much credit for the success. Rose responded to my Thumbtack inquiry with a prompt, thorough, and reasonable bid. However, after viewing her beautiful website, I replied to Rose that while I personally thought her menus were perfection, my son had specified that he did not want the food for his party to be “too fancy.” I told Rose the party would be a casual afternoon affair on our deck and I feared her culinary talents would be wasted on my son and my husband. Rose persevered, pointing out in her reply that she could do a barbecue with a southwestern flavor. The food need not be "fancy," she observed, but it should be tasty. And she sent me a custom menu that my son, his fiancée, my sisters, my husband and I all proclaimed perfect, including seared medium rare tri-tip of beef with chimichurri sauce, grilled cilantro chicken with tortillas, chipotle laced potato salad, and Mexican rice, bean, and corn salad. But Rose did not stop with sending me the menu; she said she would use my kitchen and grill on my deck, ensuring the food would be fresh as well as tasty. And after I hired her, she came to my home to check out my kitchen, my deck, and my grill and advised me on renting and setting up dining rounds and serving tables, as well as how to ensure good traffic flow for 50 guests. Rose is a real party expert, and I am not, so her advice was very much appreciated. The day of the party, Rose, Floricel and Esteban arrived a full two hours early and took charge. I hired Rose Johnson Catering for the food, which they delivered beautifully. As it turned out, they helped with the entire party, going above and beyond in many instances and showing poise and flexibility in the face of surprises, like my son’s decision to give a speech and set off a round of champagne toasts before dessert. Rose poured the champagne herself. Several guests asked me during the party: Who catered this? Who is your caterer? I happily provided several referrals to Rose Johnson Catering. Guest comments about the food were very positive: Mike: “The tri-tip was great.” Helen: “The grilled chicken was fabulous.” Kay: “I loved the potato salad. And the guacamole was wonderful.” Liz: “So nice to have so many dishes gluten-free.” Cindy: “The brownies were amazing. I told them so.” Bill: “Those parfaits were a big hit.” Matt: “Great food! Great service!” There was plenty of food for 50 guests, even with 1/3 of them being hungry 20-something friends of my son’s from high school and college. We even had leftovers, which Rose packed up and left in my refrigerator, along with leaving my kitchen cleaner than she found it. My husband, son, future daughter-in-law and I made a brunch of the leftovers the next day, sharing the delicious food and happy memories of a wonderful party. Best of all, this was the first party I’ve ever hosted where I had a great time myself. I don’t think I’ll have another big party again without booking Rose Johnson Catering!
We are very excited Green Chow Down will cater our wedding! I had big hopes for a fusion style brunch menu, and she came through beautifully. We had an incredible tasting session and I am probably most excited for the food now for the big day :) Not to mention, I wanted a chai spice cake and she is also going to be doing this! My fiancé and I are thrilled to have found Angela!!
I attended a small dinner party that LL Services catered. The dinner was absolutely delicious and healthy at the same time. LL Services were professional and informative about the dishes they presented. Their demeanor was pleasant and easy to be around. They added a nice but subtle touch to the ambience of the evening.
My friend recently celebrated her 50th birthday. Her wish? To have a catered dinner at home where she could relax and enjoy a wonderful evening of food, vino and friends. My decision to go with Rainbow Chefs was the BEST CHOICE! They worked with me to create the menu which the chef cooked to PERFECTION! It was a joy to see the guests "ooohh" and "aahhh" as each dish was brought out...Having Rainbow Chefs prepare, serve and clean up allowed the hostesses (me and my friend) to enjoy the event too! It was truly a magical night...I highly recommend them!
I went on a girls' trip to Napa Valley. I wanted to hire Chef Cheri for our first night dinner so we could relax. She told me upfront she would be out of town but she would be happy to assist us. She informed me that she had a vast network. Over the next 2 weeks she connected me with a chef and a photographer. She followed up and was very timely. We were so pleased when we arrived at the home and she had 3 bottles of wine waiting on us. She also had baked us custom red velvet cupcakes with elephant decorations (DST)...they were amazing. The chefs she connected us with were on time. In fact, they beat us to the home. They were so professional and made a delicious dinner for us and provided table service. The photographer she connected us with was punctual and took the most fabulous photos. He was very easy to work with. So I would call Chef Cheri anytime I needed any service in the Bay area. She is top notch and provides world class service. I felt like her family by the time we finished.
I hired Basic Catering for a dinner party. We had salmon and chicken breasts with asparagus and a variety of salads. The food was amazing and the presentation was beautiful. Will definitely order from them again.
Dennis is everything an amazing catering should be: responsive, efficient, polite and purveyor of absolutely delicious food! We hired Dennis to cater dinner for a team offsite, and it went over marvelously. He arrived right on time, set up everything without needing much oversight, served up the food to our team, then cleaned up everything himself. All while chatting up our team and with a smile. We will absolutely be hiring him again for future catering events.
Karla did a wonderful job catering breakfast and dinners for four days for our family and friends. She was very adaptable as we never knew until the last minute if there would be 6 people or 16 people at a meal! The breakfasts were enormous and she offered between six and eight dishes at every meal. Carla was punctual, professional and a pleasure to have in our home. She is super efficient and cleaned everything up before she left. I look forward to I look forward to using her for future events!
We hired Mise en Place and Dan’s team to do a birthday dinner in Mill Valley. Dan exceeded are expectations for what we wanted. I had to plan last minute and he was still very accommodating and flexible to what we wanted on our menu and dietary restrictions. The dinner itself was delicious, and for our group of 10 made more than enough food - highlights were definitely the ceviche, the marinated pork, and roast chicken. Also shoutout to the lemon herb green sauce was also ridiculously good we wanted to pour it on everything. Thanks Dan so much for such an amazing birthday dinner, we really enjoyed having you and will definitely hire you again.
Avocado and Company did a wonderful job catering a birthday party for ~50 people at our house in Mtn View. We did passed appetizers, buffet brunch/lunch, and bar service. From the start, Ryan and Laurence were great to work with -- after a brief discussion via phone he came up with a great menu, and was always responsive to my questions. For the day-of event, Jonny and the staff were amazing. Our guests raved about the whole day. Most notably: - Food and service were fantastic. - They were on-time and extremely efficient. When they left, you wouldn't have known anyone was here. - The entire staff was professional and super friendly.
We hired Mark to cater brunch for our wedding, and we were very impressed! He replies in a timely manner to questions, requests, and concerns. From the moment he reached out in response to my project on Thumbtack, Mark worked hard to accommodate our needs. He made sure that we felt good about the menu before we booked him, and had us over for a tasting. Additionally, he noticed an item we didn't originally include on the menu and graciously added it to the meal (potatoes!). Many of our guests made comments to us about how much they enjoyed the food, and everyone (about 130 people) had as much to eat as they wanted with food left over. My only regret was that as the bride I didn't have the chance to eat as much of that AMAZING French toast as I wanted!
