Introduction: My backhoe is 20,000 lbs., so therefore, while cutting roads or pads, as I cut and fill, the compaction factor of the machine's weight helps to eliminate the potential of hydraulic action from the soil - in other words, the newly filled areas are more stable, eliminating soft spots that come from building up layers of dirt upon another. The most satisfying experience from my job, is the ability to solve many issues that have never been addressed before, i.e., stumps removed, trees cleared, roads cut, making the property more accessible, and valuable. The increased property value is a way to make any parcel more attractive, visually, and monetarily.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Increased Seat Time.... the only way to get more experience. Doing many different types of work and taking on any task, is the only way to increase experience.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I grew up on a Tree Nursery, and have operated many different types of equipment..... backhoes, crawlers, dozers, tree spades, rock pickers, rock drills, rock crushers, skid steers, farm tractors, etc... I enjoy the satisfaction of seeing what can be accomplished with the power of hydraulics.. and a keen eye to detail.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Pads, roads, spreading gravel, trenches, ditches, septic tanks, leach lines, tree stumps, pushing over trees, lifting heavy objects and placing or loading, fine grading, etc.
