FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The fee is $60 per session. Sessions are one hour and may go a little longer but the fee is still $60. This is a comparatively low fee and though I do not accept insurance coverage, this fee is not much larger than most co-pays. To keep costs low for clients I keep my overhead costs low. I have done this by moving my office to my home which is the thumbtack address shown. The fee may be paid by cash, check, or card at the time of service. PayPal is also available and over-the-phone credit cards are also accepted. If a card is used there is a fee involved which is passed on to the client. For one session that amount is $2.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When I first meet you I will give you information about myself which could be important to you. This includes my background, history, what you can expect from me, and how things will proceed. Since this isn't really part of counseling I extend the first session some so you do not pay for that introductory time.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In addition to a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology, a Masters of Science degree in Counseling Psychology, and a Doctorate degree in Counseling, I have 13 years experience as a supervisor with the local Child Protective Services agency. I am also licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist with 13 years of experience.
