San Mateo, CA · Jill McIntyre, CMT

    (43 reviews)

I am a certified and California state licensed massage therapist. I graduated from the National Holistic Institute. I have been trained in both Eastern and Western philosophies and I like to incorporate techniques from Shiatsu, Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports, Stretching and Thai into any given session. Massage has always been a part of my life growing up. I left my desk job with a deep desire to help people. I believe bodywork should be effective but also feel good. My sessions are created and customized to meet an individual's specific needs and preferences. It is my goal to actively listen to my client to hear and then deliver the massage session that they would most enjoy. I offer 60-, 90- and 120-minute customized sessions. I can accept payments in the form of cash, check or credit cards.

  • Holistic Massage Services

    Vallejo, CA · Capucio Massage

    (23 reviews)

Whereas some therapists simply "go through the motions" in a rather robotic fashion, I, in addition to being technically proficient over a wide variety of modalities, employ a deep connection to my intuition as a way to customize the treatment to the individuals needs. Unlike some providers, I encourage feedback throughout a session & am open to guidance & direction by the client, so as to make it most efficacious. I enjoy being generous with my time & flexible with fee, in relation to whatever your budget may be. Meeting people from various walks of life & the meaningful fulfillment that comes from helping them become more grounded, spirited, relaxed, rejuvenated & optimally in tune with health & vitality.

  • Massage Therapy Services

San Francisco, CA · Dessi Issaeva, CMT

    (17 reviews)

My work addresses the core of the issue, applying deep tissue techniques and neuro-kinetic cues to the body, and resting on quite a bit of education. It seeks to resolve both structural and medical challenges. Of course, relaxation massage is always an option. I am truly in conversation with Nature. Every session is unlike any other because our needs are so different. And the intelligence of the body never fails to amaze.

  • San Francisco, CA · Bill Mohler Fitness and Wellness

    (13 reviews)

Bill is a therapeutic massage practitioner, body rolling and foot fitness practitioner, personal trainer, and advanced yoga instructor with a passion for healthy living. Bill first encountered bodywork as a patient; a fitness injury in his early twenties left him in chronic pain. Since ‘modern’ medicine did not really make a difference, Bill searched for other treatment options. Over the next twenty years, living a healthy lifestyle, receiving skilled bodywork, and adhering to a regular self care fitness program ‘cured’ what ‘modern’ medicine could not. Today Bill lives an active life without pain. After personally experiencing its power, Bill decided to devote his career to bodywork and self care. Bill completed a Therapeutic Shiatsu Massage Program at the San Francisco School of Massage and became a Certified Massage Practitioner. He expanded his knowledge by attending courses in Deep Tissue and Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Release, Structural Integration, Zero Balancing, Advanced Neck Work, and Integrative Anatomy. Bill completed an advanced 500-hour yoga training at California Yoga Company and became a Certified Advanced Instructor in hot yoga. During his yoga certification program, Bill was introduced to Yamuna Body Rolling and Yamuna Foot Fitness. Body rolling is a simple and effective self bodywork technique that keeps the body in alignment. Foot fitness is another simple and effective self care technique that corrects common foot issues and maintains a healthy foot structure; both are essential for proper posture and a balanced body. Foot fitness is especially recommended for people who spend a lot of time ‘using their feet’, including runners and dancers. Bill earned his certifications in Yamuna Body Rolling and Yamuna Foot Fitness. Bill is aware that healthy living includes regular exercise. Based on his own experience, Bill knows that incorrect exercising may result in injuries. They may be minor and not immediately obvious, but over the years, they may lead to serious impairments, discomforts, and chronic pain. To learn safe and effective exercise techniques, he took courses in fitness training. Bill is an NASM Certified Personal Trainer and a C.H.E.K. Institute Certified Exercise Coach. Bill’s passion is working with people with injuries, chronic pain, and postural issues. His specialty is to help them to recover from injuries, regain proper posture, and structural and muscular balance. Bill approaches the body as a whole and integrates fitness, massage, yoga, body rolling, foot fitness, nutrition, and stress management in the healing process. Many attempts at healing fail or bring less than optimal results because they either treat only the symptoms or they fail to recognize the many factors that contribute to pain and/or dis-ease. Additionally, Bill teaches and reinforces the sense of self-empowerment that is critical for all forms of healing. Bill thrives on seeing hope return to those whose injuries, pain, and/or discomforts have limited their abilities and independence and have taken them beyond hope. Sometimes even a small injury can have a significant impact on a person’s abilities and sense of self-sufficiency. Recovering from an injury and/or chronic pain can be a long, lonely, and disempowering journey, as Bill knows from his own experience. Recovery can also feel exceedingly expensive or seem to require overwhelming efforts. Indeed, healing does require life changes and commitment, but even the smallest efforts often yield dramatic results. Seeing those moments when his clients begin to reconnect with their bodies and reclaim their wellness are some of what Bill enjoys the most. Maybe even more important is witnessing that someone has ended their experience with pain, and has restored and even improved their abilities, their ranges of motion, and their self-sufficiency.
