What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I offer a FREE 30 minute consultation. I suggest a phone conversation and/or meet and greet in person, if possible. I will listen, advise, work one-on-one from start to finish. I work through email, phone, google hangouts, facebook chat, skype.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
It is of vital importance to always be learning and making yourself a better individual. That's why I'm excited that one of the largest universities has just opened up opportunities for on-line self-study in English literature. You can never learn all there is to know, but challenging yourself is one of the greatest ways to stay marketable.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your service? If so, please share the details here.
Prices are estimates based on a range of variables. I can quote a $25 to $40 per hour rate and a project rate. Sometimes, a project rate would be cheaper than a per hour rate and may not be know until certain things are assessed; needs, requirements and length of project. A FREE email consultation can be provided for these parameters.
Each customer has individual needs. All packages for social media, editing can be integrated with other items.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always wanted to be a writer/author and emulate the greats. I enjoy reading and words sound magical. Writing in some way was always something that I wanted to do. Technology has provided opportunities to have a business without the constraints of going to an office allowing for a creativity that not many people will experience.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Book authors, small companies, students, non-profits,
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Three of my last jobs clients have been referred to me because of my blogs. The clients liked my writing voice, blog design and wanted to use my services. Those connections were some of the nicest and most meaningful relationships that I have enjoyed. They realized my skills and talents knowing that it provided benefits for their needs.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Customers can find advice to advance their projects and know that they will be supported and respected in those projects. Confidentiality is a number one priority as well as job satisfaction. Choose someone you trust that will take the time to get to know YOU and your needs.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Writing is one of the most important ways to convey a message, unveil a product or write a bestseller; yet, people don't recognize the skill, talent and hard work that it takes to put words on the page. It's heartbreaking to see writing mills and low paying writing jobs that are offered to writers. You have to pay for talent otherwise you do a disservice to yourself and the writer. I refuse to let someone use my services in return for a less than living wage. Quality versus low paid quantity should be recognized on both ends, both those who write and those who employ.
