Mark was very prompt and professional in his response to my project request. He is a very relaxed guy and made me feel very comfortable during my first lesson. We chatted about my goals, which I feel confident of achieving from Mark. During the first lesson he was making "light bulbs" go on for me for stuff i was struggling trying to learn! He made it so simple and fun. His rates are reasonable. He is worth every bit of it in my opinion. I have had three lessons since and I can not wait until the next one! (FYI...i am mid fifties male playing for three years)Sep 7, 2017Verified
Great guitar instructor who teaches you notes, different strumming techniques, picking, how to read music and is a wealth of knowledge on music of all kinds and is very personal and will adjust to what you would like to learn. I would highly recommend Mark to anyone wanting to learn guitar or master it.Mar 14, 2017Verified
I have only had one lesson with Mark so far, but he is excellent, both as a guitarist and a teacher. He wants to make sure and focus on teaching you things you are interested in instead of a standard simplistic lesson plan that you may find somewhere else. He is extremely knowledgeable and easy to talk to. I feel confident that he knows what he is doing and I will progress quickly under this study.Feb 11, 2017Verified
Had my first lesson with Mark and was very skeptical but he turned out to be awesome! Left me with ALOT to practice before the next lesson and I am already learning Scales which is exactly what I wanted! This guy knows how to teach!Oct 17, 2016Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Local lessons where you drive to me at Coast Band Music are $30 per 1/2 hour, $55 per hour. If I am driving to you add $5.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?If there is a style I'm not familiar with, I'll go and take a few lessons from someone who is a master of that style. Haven't really needed to do that in a while though!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I taught an impromptu lesson to a friend of a friend at his request. He was studying with a few different teachers at the time. He said he learned more from me in an hour than the year he had been studying with the other teachers.
