Stephen did a great job on our flagstone patio! He was very competitive with the estimate he gave us for the work we wanted done. Not only that, but he completed the job in record time- 2 days from start to finish. He is courteous, prompt, reliable, and he takes pride in his workmanship. In today's world, it is rare you come across contractors that still possess those qualities. We will be calling Stephen again when we need any type of home improvement work done around our home. I highly recommend Stephen! Great guy who does great work!
James was amazing - he went above and beyond on installing my vanities, but I also hired him to do all my kitchen recessed lighting and did a great job in bypassing the ballast (or blaster! - inside joke). I will continue to hire James for any other needs I will have in the future.
If Thumbtack allows users to more stars, I would grade Maha for 10/10! Before our project started, we interviewed almost 20 contractors and Maha is the only one provided the professional in-depth site analysis with very detailed bidding with all items broken down into material and labor as well as the amazing schedule analysis (and we did have the project finished prior to the original projection date). Thru out he entire project process, Houman (owner of Maha) was showing all his professionalism into all the detail and he was on-site everyday working with his crew, providing prompt update and honest suggestion in all area. He also provided very helpful weekly progress summary that help me to show to my management for the update. The entire crew was all professional, friendly, and showing their care to the premise owner every moment. Communication is 10/10 as well. At the end of the project, I noticed some additional item that I omitted earlier, and Houman was able to help me on those as well altho he didn't have to, all respect for that. I definitely will come back to Maha again if I have another project coming, also recommend them to anyone looking for professional and sincere designer/contractor.
My project was taking out a sink/faucet/disposer set and reinstalling the disposer and new sink and faucet set. The thing that some of the contractors said was that one couldn't install around granite, so I was a bit prepared for damage to my countertop, which was not at all desired. Not a scratch. A few unexpected challenges in that my existing disposer was too big for the piping and the piping required an adjustment, but he had some fittings in truck, so no delay. One of the parts I ordered did not arrive on time so he is coming back to hook that flange up. 1. He was precisely on time and emailed to say how far away he was. 2. Arrived neat and professional with his shoe coverings already on before entering my home 3. knew what he was talking about 4. adapted to surprises 5. most important, got along well with my dog, who supervised the entire project and approved.
Remove and replace kitchen faucet. Also replace hot water angle stop which was corroded. Customer Svc person was very helpful and sympathetic to the situation. The installation tech, Justin, was very knowledgible and professional. Will use this company again. Tks for great service.
Kevin Ghazarian worked with me on a variety of prominent projects at my home. In all aspects from budgeting, design, planning and organization of the construction schedule, he was a tremendous asset. On each home improvement he displayed exceptional qualities of creative-problem solving, fortitude as a leader and task-master and attention to detail in design and craftsmanship. I am very pleased on how well the projects turned out, which is due largely to his professional contributions. Highlights of projects are described as follows: 1. Interior painting of several rooms and kitchen. The design motif was a traditional Tuscani color scheme. The original and uniquely beautiful architectural elements such as the curved kitchen cabinets, wordolf walls, crown mouldings, bay windows and fire place mantel pieces were individually painted separate colors. This was challenging in its multi color design and tedious attention to painting the details. In two rooms alone there were 15 different colors used, all of which had to be the perfect color and hue. 2. Installation of wood floors. A beautiful distressed antique wood flooring was installed in the kitchen, pantry, bathroom and large family room. This involved subfloor demolition, removal and replacement, and the detailed installation of wood flooring and moulding. The hard, back breaking work required a number of workers managed by Kevin. As a result, the work flow was systematically optimized and driven until the projects completion. Kevin was a relentless task master and has many skills as a talented worker. 3. Electrical rewiring of bathroom and hallway. The old wiring was faulty and insufficient and new wiring was pulled and replaced. All ceiling light fixtures, electrical outlets and switches were chosen and installed. A 3 way switch system was a necessity and was devised quickly and installed correctly to code by Kevin. This all required the knowledge and skill of a trained electrician. 4. Construction of exterior deck. This project involved much post production planning and design. Trek decking materials, sub deck foundations, metal piers, treated lumber of all sizes, and all the special screws and bolts needed to be estimated and purchased for this large construction project. Unlike a simple rectangular shape, this deck was complex in design with multiple angles, levels and steps. Cutting perfect angles and lengths of Trek decking were a necessity in order for this deck to turn out as provocative and beautiful as it did.
Installation of flooring. I was not going to install in the kitchen flooring because of a cabinet that sits right above my fridge. Mike the owner said he would move the cupboard up an inch so the flooring and the cupboard would still leave room for the fridge. No problem and free of charge! How great right? He had his laborers do the flooring BEFORE and then told me he was unable to move the cabinet. Since he couldn't leave my fridge in the middle of the kitchen floor, he had his guy force it into place and cracked the cabinet. NOT only that, there was a vent that was suppose to go just under the front portion of the fridge which was already cut out....but now could not fit into the hole because the fridge was too tight against the upper cabinet. So...he had a piece of flooring cut and put into the hole with the grain going in the opposite direction!!!!!!!!! I now have a cracked and ruined cabinet, a floor with patchwork and will never be able to move my fridge for cleaning behind and under. I can only imagine what damage was done to the new flooring under the fridge. BTW, I work for a union contractor so the laughs on me.
I am not one who ordinarily takes the time to write a review concerning some work that I had done. In this case I am making an exception due to the experience that I had. I had some major backyard fence damage due to strong winds that also affected the adjoining neighbors on north and south side. Mark gave me a detailed invoice as to cost and labor and helped coordinate with my neighbors to split cost and he provided all of us with individual invoices that broke down all costs and labor. Mark is extremely knowledgable, very diligent and he constantly communicated with me to let me know about any concerns or issues that arose during the job. He has an engaging personality and a great sense of humor. His finished work was incredible. Better than I could have ever envisioned. His work ethic is outstanding. He started the work when he said he would and finished the work when he said he would, which has been an issue with other handyman contractors that I have hired in the past. I will hire Mark for every future job that I have and I highly recommend him to anyone that uses this site for referrals. I am happy to have been able to write this review and I know that anyone who reads this and hires Mark, will feel compelled to write their own glowing review. Thanks again Mark.
Dishwasher installation. Mr. King is very thorough, knowledgeable, and critical in the detail of his work. Look forward to continue using his services.
Great quality work, price, and affordability. Also, a local contractor. Assisting local business is very important.
Diamond West drywalled and textured our kitchen and we couldn't be happier with their work and their professionalism.
My sister first used MaNa Design back in 2008 (that time the name was slightly different) to completely remodel her bathroom. I asked her few times to give us his beautiful bathroom contractor's phone number. Within few times back and force and misunderstanding spelling and name, I finally submitted my request in here. Surprisingly, we found Mana Design quote. We called Mazi and remembered my sister's bathroom. I shared with that I couldn't have any idea that what I wanted and when Mazi came over to look at the space he immediately began his artistry in suggesting some really fun and beautiful finishing ideas. I actually ended up doing exactly what his first vision was because it was so good! We go to his shiwroom and browed his beautiful collections. Whinin few times, we picked all our materials and he patiantly uploaded them in his artistic computer rendering; so we can see them before even the job started. After we signed the contract he gave us very detailed scheduling and teach us how to review the progress report in Mana Design website. The job started smoothly per plan after the cabinets arrived. His crew was friendly, on time, worked hard and consistently (real important when you're stuck eating out every day until it's done!) I get so many compliments on his work and how beautiful it looks after completion. Now, after a month, I love what he did and I think this was the best design i could ever have for my kitchen. What an investment! I am now about to embark on project #2, my fireplace wall and bathroom. It is no question who I would use all over again. He's just as friendly and creative as the day I first met with him and I'm so excited for the amazing job that I know his business will do again. It's important to find a company you can trust, which Mana Design proved to me. It's also important to have good communication and solid craftmanship throughout the job. I can state with full confidence that you will be so glad you found this gem!! He just GETS IT. It's so rare to find someone who has such experience and expertise when it comes to materials and how to execute it all but also keep a professional working relationship along with being so accommodating and kind. He knows how to take care of his clients, how to communicate the project as it goes from demo to polishing the stainless... what a great experience along with a gorgeous end result.
I can not say enough good things about John and his work. He’s meticulous, friendly, and trustworthy. He’s attention to detail really makes him stand out from the rest of the contractors I have used. He completed all the unfinished carpentry work and more we had left from our current remodel. I would recommend John to anyone with confidence. My father use to be a general contractor, and after seeing johns work, he wants John to come over to his house and help with some of his own unfinished projects. Thank you again John!
Scott did an excellent job along with his other worker Vic, very polite and helpful. I have the kitchen I've been saving up for for a long time. There were changes along the way, which happens, it was never a problem. I would recommend them to remodel or build your project.
Jeff is an honest and legit contractor.Did an awesome job in remodeling our kitchen.
After having a water leak, we decided to have the kitchen and family room renovated. This involved the replacement of floors, counters, sink and cooktop as well as refinishing extensive cabinetry. We were not remotely impressed by the first 4 or 5 contractors we called. We then had Morena Tile and Home Design come to provide an estimate. The difference was amazing. Sami and his team immediately demonstrated working knowledge of what needed to be done and how it could be accomplished in each area. After their analysis we did not look further because we felt we had finally found the contractor for the project. The quote was in the ballpark of what we thought it would cost so we did not even consider looking for a lower bid. The whole project started and ended in a timely fashion. The various workers were obviously experienced in their respective fields and performed beautifully. Even so, there was daily review and supervision of the project by a manager. I had heard nightmare stories about contractors from many sources but with Morena, we never had an unpleasant moment. There were no surprises or additional costs except for changes we requested. The attitude of all involved was so positive and friendly that we actually missed them when it was over. The finished product was impressive and as close as it can come to perfect. We are looking forward to having this company remodel other areas of our home very soon and highly recommend them. Tina T San Clemente, CA
Blackstone completed a radical remodeling of my kitchen; they were clean, timely, were careful to make sure all issues were addressed to my satisfaction. The final product was even better then I expected. Very reasonably priced.
We have just finish a major update of our 1980’s tract home; remodeling the kitchen, bathrooms and flooring throughout the entire home. We were able to live in our current home that was for sale during 95% of the remodeling process which allowed Phil and his crew easier access to our home and we didn’t have to live through the noise and dust. We are very pleased with the outcome of our home and Homestar’s ability to execute our vision.
Chris was the general contractor for our remodeling project. He was extremely professional, detail oriented, and punctual throughout the entire remodel, as were his crews. He walked us through the entire process of remodeling and reconfiguring two bathrooms, adding several windows and a sliding glass door to our house, and adding recessed lighting through out. We knew what to expect because Chris explained everything so clearly and showed us renderings of what our finished rooms would look like. We also installed wood flooring in our front bedroom. Great care was taken to protect the parts of our house that weren't being remodeled so that nothing got damaged or broken. Construction can be very stressful but Chris helped make the process as smooth and painless as it could be.
We hired Jeff from Rick Dorn Constrution to install some kitchen cabinets in our remodel. We had cabinets picked out already and he recommended some others of better quality for less. Installation took 2 days and he cleaned up after himself. He also pointed out some other things that should be fixed on our project which was greatly appreciated. We would work with them again.
Working with Fred from Saba design was great!! We found Fred on Thumbtack to install some garage cabinets and lighting. We were very impressed with Fred's attention to detail and quality, so we had him do our complete kitchen remodel. We are very happy with the results! Fred had great ideas for layout, materials, and style, and helped us make decisions that got us the kitchen we wanted while staying within budget. Things were going good so we had him remodel our downstairs bathroom along with the kitchen. We have some projects in mind for the future and when the time comes we will definitely be giving Fred a call! Bob in Trabuco Canyon
