Brad was AMAZING during my Dec. 22nd, 2017 Wedding. I couldn’t be happier with our choice to go with him as our wedding photographer. I had multiple people graciously comment on how professional, punctual, and talented he is. Brad is a very talented photographer, and I wouldn’t hesitate to hire him again for other events or family photos in the future. I will post some photos to show his incredible artistry when I get my pictures back. Don’t think twice about it, HIRE BRAD!!!!! You’ll get a great value, quality, professional, and caring photographer! Thanks Brad for everything! You took so much pressure and stress off of us during our wedding!

My experience with Nicole, Chris and their crew was something I'll always cherish!! They're so professional and thoughtful - it made our special wedding day one we will always remember. ROF as a whole takes their profession to the next level and always looking for ways to expand/improve. They're so genuine and creative - I truly appreciated their service and friendship. I highly recommend them on all levels and wish them nothing but success. Thank you for capturing our day via photo, video, and of course personally, b/c of you, we'll always have something exceptional to look back on and remember!!

Corey was so amazing at our wedding reception, our family all noted how impressive he was. Anytime something happened that was cute, or photo worthy we would look over and he was already there capturing it. We are so overjoyed to have picked him for our event. Thank you so much!

Davis came in at the 11th hour and saved the day! I found out that my husband's mother would not be able to attend our wedding, so we hired Davis 2 weeks before the wedding. He was professional and very accommodating, and I am recommending him to any and all bride and grooms. I would like to get married again, just to have the special moments captured by Davis and his crew at IV I II Studios.

My husband and I interviewed 4 wedding video vendors. Our wedding planner insisted we use one of his people. We went with our own and Bryan was one of our best wedding videographer decisions. I am so glad that we decided to hire a professional videographer like Bryan for our wedding! It was well worth the money and I would recommend him to any bride-to-be. The film was wonderful and did a great job at capturing all the special moments on our wedding day. Your wedding day is an investment and among the many things, it is certainly an investment in memories.

aMoody Photography did my wedding and he was absolutely amazing! He showed up early and was there for every little moment throughout the entire day. I couldn’t have asked for a better photographer. He made our special day run so much smoother, working tirelessly so he could get all the perfect shots. We even had to tell him to stop and take a break but he still wanted to continue working. As to the quality of the photos, they were FANTASTIC! Crystal clear, beautiful editing, did a great job including other natural elements in our pictures of the local scenery. He even was able to change the color of one of my groomsmen’s ties that was the wrong color so he didn’t stick out. Cannot even tell you how happy we are that we went with aMoody photography!

We cannot sing Joseph's praises enough. He was easy to communicate with, 100% responsive, a total professional with exceptional work quality. He was with us all day during our wedding and got amazing images. But he was never obtrusive or in the way of the event. His prices were more than reasonable and we feel so grateful that Joseph was part of our special day. Thank you a thousand times over!!!

I had Chelsae photograph my wedding in Sept. Weddings can be so stressful but Chelsae made me feel so comfortable and at ease, the photos are beautiful. Chelsae got them back to me in a timely manner, our family is so impressed with the quality and professionalism Chelsae produces. We also used her photo booth company Split Second Photo Booth for our wedding that Chelsae and her husband own. It was so great and easy to get these 2 things taken care of for our wedding in one step. I highly recommend both of these businesses.

As a media professional firm, Ascend Media Productions highly recommends Since 1987 Films for wedding videography. Andrew and Anthony have top-notch skills as camera operators and video editors, but it's their passion and commitment to excellence that sets their work apart from the rest. A quick read of their reviews tells that story, and it's plain to see why so many brides and grooms consider this team to be a part of their family. Ascend Media Productions is proud to partner with Since 1987 Films for their drone imagery needs.

    About

As an highly-trained & experienced actor and director & photographer of over 20-years, I know what agents and casting directors look for in headshots. Only 3 out of 100 shots are kept and I can consistently catch your most charismatic essence that intrigues the viewer & sells you. This is a business and as such you NEED a VERY TALENTED & PASSIONATE PRO to know wardrobe, make-up, settings and technical tricks with both the camera & the EDITING (I graduated top of my class in film school & my editor has a MASTERS DEGREE & has worked with me for 10 years - can others say that?) while making you feel very relaxed and actually having FUN instead of being self-conscious - which truly comes across in my shots. I never miss and guarantee FREE RESHOOTS if you are dissatisfied; something I've never been asked to do! We are well rounded in all types of photography and videography, use top notch professional gear and lenses and even own www.Too-Cute-Boutique.com in Fountain Valley, if you need wardrobe & accessory ideas. Check us out (site is new as is the store) but you KNOW I am legitimate. Lastly, don't EVER get in a car with a stranger and just take off without checking them out, and let several friends know the make, color and license plate of the car! Look, I charge a little more than your cousin who got a digital camera a while back and will "do it for $50 bucks, man!" But the pros looking at them will know in a second, which, BTW, is about how long they LOOK AT THEM! Use an inferior photographer and YOUR money & time is wasted and YOUR shots will end up in the circular file - leaving YOU to wonder... what happened? Does Wrangler fit or look like Guess? Is a McDonalds burger as good as In 'N' Out's or Carl's Natural Burger? I am an artist by choice & necessity and creation is my drug and passion that nothing has surpassed in my lifetime. This keeps my hand in the game in between my other artistic endeavors, writing, etc., and I love making people feel GREAT about the way they look in my shots. You will have so many great shots, the biggest trouble is picking the best ones!

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.

What should you ask your wedding videographer before hiring?

Finding the perfect wedding videographer doesn’t have to be stressful. Asking a few key questions upfront will help you find the right fit for your big day. Before talking with wedding videographers, research their work online. Look at their websites, business profiles and social media, and see what their finished wedding videos look like. If the style fits what you’re envisioning, it’s time to reach out. During initial contact, make sure you get along with the person. This is important since they’ll be interacting with you and your guests.

Your first question should be about their availability; there’s no point in going further if they’re booked on your wedding day. Ask to see references if they’re not readily available online. Next, it’s time to talk about money. Ask how they determine rates or what kind of packages they offer. When you settle on a rate and the services you want, make sure to have a written contract that outlines everything, including cost, length of time they film, what post-production will include, and when you can expect to receive the edited project.

How much is videography for a wedding?

Wedding videography is one thing many couples regret not paying for. It may seem like just another expense during wedding planning, but it’s really special to have a moving memory of your big day. The national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. Pricing can vary depending on wedding length, special film features, the amount of editing required, and how many videographers are needed to cover the event. Many videographers offer packages that provide different levels of service. A very simple wedding documentary could be $600 or more, while a full-scale cinematic experience involving multiple videographers could be $2,500 or more. Here’s an example of average package pricing:

    • Package 1: $1,400
      • Footage during and after the ceremony, including highlights requested by the couple.
      • Two cameras with audio equipment.
      • DVD including a 3- or 4-minute edit to a song of the couple’s choice and a 45- to 50-minute raw edit covering the entire event.
      • Recordings of guests’ good wishes to the couple.
    • Package 2: $1,800
      • Includes everything from Package 1, plus an additional videographer (2 total) and aerial videography.

When do you pay your wedding videographer and wedding photographer?

Most wedding videographers and photographers require a set deposit when you hire them. Wedding season is a busy time and a deposit secures that vendor’s services for your wedding date. It also protects the vendor if the couple changes their mind at the last minute, and they can’t find a new booking and lose work for the day. The deposit may be anywhere from 20 percent to  50 percent of the agreed-upon total price. Always get a written confirmation that your deposit has been received.

The remainder of the wedding videography and photography bill may be due in the week before to your wedding or on the day of the wedding. Other vendors may require a second payment immediately before the wedding and a third and final payment after the wedding video or photos are delivered. Each vendor has their own policies, so before hiring be sure to read, understand and agree to payment protocols. There is no requirement for tipping wedding videographers or photographers, but if you do want to tip them, the end of the reception is the appropriate time.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
