- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? We provide low pressure, detailed, in home sales consultations. We do a detailed site measurement and go over our products in detail. We explain our process and why we do what we do. Everything in our process, and each attribute of our products, are the result of our 18 years of turf installation experience. We then provide a detailed proposal for our clients consideration.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take? With a passion for, and expertise in, building unique synthetic golf green projects, we were very honored in October 2015 to be a part of a spectacular project for PGA Tour Pro Paul Casey. Working with his coach Peter Kostis on the design, we helped complete a 4,000sf backyard short game skills practice area over an old useless tennis court. He has a 3,000sf golf green, a classic 200sf stack sod bunker, and a hitting cage. He can also hit up to 25 yard chip shots into a synthetic green that he can back balls up on. He is so excited to be able to spend more time at home with his new son while still being able to get some practice in. We had a great time and are very proud to have been a part of this project.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?Thoroughly educate yourself before making a decision. Being that turf is a newer industry, there is a large amount of misinformation on the internet. Take your time and look into the specific details. Become familiar with fiber shapes and how they affect resilience. Look at the the available backing systems such as Urethane, Latex, Hole Punch, or DuraFlo and the compelling reasons to use each. Are there turf options out there that do NOT shine or that do not need black rubber? Take your time. Choose your product wisely and then choose your contractor wisely. Many of the companies that are doing turf right now will not be around in 3-5 years. The drought has created a boom in turf and many companies are popping up to take advantage of it. Just like in 2007, many of them will be gone and not around to service customers in a few years.
