Stephen incredibly knowledgeable and has a wonderful personality, and will push you beyond your mental (which I need most) and physical limits to get most out of the training without screaming at me. He is fully focussed on you while training and whenevwer time permits he quickly jots down my progress and motivates me with all the Instagram recordings :) he is either working out with me to demonstrate or couting my reps or recording the video for my reference. there is decent progress within a month and i am hopeful that I will achieve my target soon with help and motivation from him. I strongly recommend him to anyone for best body and mind :)
Corey is an awesome trainer. First off he asked me what my goals were and when I wanted to reach them. At first I just wanted to drop a few pounds, but then I had to change that to prep for a physical exam for a couple different police departments I was applying for. Corey didn't miss a beat and engineered a plan that not only helped me accomplish my original goal, but got me ready for my employment placement tests. Another great thing about Corey is that he gets to know your personality. I am a bit of a tomboy and really like the outdoors-I hate treadmills or any machinery that doesn't let me move out. Corey encouraged my love of hiking and incorporated that into our workout plan and after a few weeks of circuit training, he introduced me to boxing (which I have come to LOVE). His process works! All the exercises we did during circuit training came together in the boxing lessons and I was thrilled! Corey listens to his clients, gets to know them and works with them towards their goals in a way that is both fun and effective! I don't hate exercising anymore! Thanks Corey!
I first started working with Evan about 3 years ago and have benefitted tremendously from HIS hard work. He is constantly expanding his knowledge base, testing the latest nutrition and training fads, measuring them against the tried and true and satisfying himself that clients will benefit before unleashing them on us. And when he does unleash his learnings - watch out! The workouts are tough and engaging and if YOU do it right you will leave exhausted, but feeling great, and aching to come back and do it again. And again. Without the personal fortitude to get to the gym without an appointment, I find Evan's routines - and the results - the perfect motivation. I have been an extremely happy, regular client for all 3 of the years I've been training with Evan. I travel frequently for work, so Evan has helped with routines and exercises that can be done in my hotel room. He is also capable of accommodating that travel schedule and training me on a somewhat random, somewhat regular basis, but always picking up where we left off and pushing me/encouraging me to the next level of fitness and awareness. His considerable skills and conscientiousness aside, Evan is funny and interesting, so the sessions are not JUST about training and nutrition. He's worldly and has lots of worthwhile news, stories and information to share. I highly recommend him!
I have had a wonderful experience training with Anthony at God's Gym! He tailors each work out to my abilities, challenges me to incrementally work harder to build strength, but does not push me beyond my abilities or risk injury. Work outs are challenging, get my heart pumping and leave me with the "good" muscle soreness for a few days. There is minimal downtime in the 30 minute sessions, thus there is no wasted time. This contrasts to my experience during training sessions at other gyms. I feel that these sessions are consistently higher yield compared to my other gym experiences. Anthony, himself, is awesome. He is kind, patient, has a great sense of humor. He is VERY encouraging. He provides nutritional guidance specific for your goals. My schedule can be quite variable, and he has consistently accommodated this so that I could make as many training sessions as possible. The entire team at God's gym is very welcoming and supportive. A great environment, and an amazing community that I am now happy to participate in! Also, I would recommend that those considering this gym should not be "turned off" by the name if they are not religious, people of faith, Christian, etc. This is a comfortable and welcoming place for ALL people to train. :)
Gerard is a great personal trainer! He offers challenging workouts that have pushed me to reach my fitness goals and tailored my workouts to ensure I avoided flaring up any old injuries .I also found great value from Gerard keeping monthly records of BMI ( body mass index) checks , this allowed both of us to see/ track my progress. I also purchase a nutrition plan along with my training sessions this nutrition plan was easy to follow and offer a jump start to meeting my health goals. This nurtion plan was even able to satisfy my sweet tooth, I have fallen in love with protein cookies, thanks to Gerard!
I first started my fitness journey after learning my body fat percentage had hit a personal high of 27%. It was then I decided to make health a priority in my life and start taking exercise and nutrition seriously. I signed up for Thumbtack and put out a request for a trainer near my home. John was one of the first to respond. We spoke on the phone about my goals and then scheduled a free consultation where we practiced a few basic movements and took my measurements. After our consultation, I committed to 20 personal training sessions. In each session, John tailors exercises with my goals in mind, and pushes me beyond what I think I'm capable of. He is always mixing up exercises to keep things interesting and my body guessing. John has me training with everything from kettle bells and cables, to rowing machines and TRX. In addition to the challenging workouts, John is consistent and reliable. He sends calendar invites for our scheduled training sessions and lets me know in advance if he needs to reschedule. It's now been nearly 18 months since we first started training. I've lost inches of body fat and gained confidence and energy. I look forward to our training sessions and even have my boyfriend hooked on couple workouts with John. :) I cannot recommend him enough for those ready to commit to a healthy lifestyle.
John is doing a great job training my 12 year old son who competes in travel baseball. My son really enjoys his sessions and his fitness is improving everyday.
At age 53, I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and osteoporosis of the spine and hips. Following a successful surgery to remove my thyroid, my endocrinologist recommended that I pursue weight and resistance training in conjunction with a year-long course of daily injections to treat my osteoporosis. Since that time, I have felt so incredibly fortunate to have met Jackie Sizemore. Training with Jackie, with her expert knowledge of physiology and hands-on guidance, and experiencing the results of the comprehensive Youniquelyfit method, the T-Score for my spine went from -3.0 (osteoporosis) to 1.0 (normal bone density). I owe this dramatic improvement to my health to my bi-weekly training sessions with Jackie Sizemore in conjunction with my endocrinologist’s care. Working with Jackie is always challenging and never dreary; her positive, encouraging, and creative training sessions really make you feel good (with muscles tingling after intensive matt work!) Now, at age 58, and with thanks to Youniquelyfit, my flexibility, agility, and muscle tone has improved noticeably and my once constant back pain (attributed to spinal bone loss) has disappeared. I highly recommend Jackie Sizemore’s Youniquelyfit training sessions for anyone contemplating getting into the best physical condition of their lives.
I've received massages from probably a couple dozen people in my life. Xavier gave me the best massage + reallignment I've ever received. He is incredible. After one session with him, I signed up for weekly personal training sessions with Xavier. He is friendly, fun, and professional. Could not recommend any higher!
I first started training with Sean 8 years ago. My intention was to get into shape but Seans training is beyond physical. He challenged me with his workouts & he made every workout exciting. He loves what he does, loves to create workouts that people will benefit from & he's a great guy! What's more to ask for in a trainer! The west coast got a gift of a guy :))
Kenny has played a vital role in me sustaining a healthy lifestyle. He takes the time to assess the individualized needs of each client and gives in the moment feedback to achieve optimal results. One of the things I like the most is the workout routines are never the same. I have been client for 2 months and plan to continue my training sessions as part of my lifestyle changes.
I have worked with a lot of trainers before and I wholeheartedly recommend working with Herman, who is hands down the best trainer I've worked with. He is relentlessly positive, always encouraging and helped me reach a lot of strength goals. I really appreciated that he was focused on form and alignment, not about the numbers. His approach helped me have an overall more positive view of my success and improvement. After working with him for six months, I was the strongest I've ever been. He's incredibly responsive in scheduling and was never annoyed when I had to reschedule due to my job that doesn't provide me with a lot of flexibility. Happy to answer any other questions you might have! Happy training!
As I entered my 60s, I wanted to find a good fitness trainer to keep me in decent shape. I found that person in Colin Lewis. He's knowledgeable, personable, and patient. Whether it was free weights, kettles, planks, or even boxing he always knew just the right equipment, timing, and words of encouragement for an enjoyable, results-oriented, custom training experience.
Gretchen is very pleasant and encourages you through out the training session.
Samantha is a wonderful trainer and a consummate professional. She is currently training three members of my family: my wife, daughter, and me. We all benefit from not only her expertise, but also the nature and variety of her workouts. They are consistently challenging, new and engaging. Every workout has a significant yet attainable intensity; where, when we finish, we consistently find ourselves fatigued and spent in a good way. A way that physically leads to growth and ensures physical improvement. Sam (Iron Will Fitness) is encouraging, responsive, very available, and provides a ton of value. She has conducted training sessions with us, both at her training facility and our home. For all of these reasons and more, Samantha is highly recommended. She will help you improve with every workout. 5-stars!
I've trained with Ryck for nearly two years. Ryck is highly professional with years and years of experience. Goals - he would work with you in order to achieve your goals. Whether it's building muscle, losing weight, getting stronger or rehabilitating, he knows what he's doing. Drive - he will not let you give up, and will adjust the workouts based to your needs. He'd push you when possible and make you take a step back when needed. Personal - Ryck is a just a great person, fun to talk with, and is genuinely interested in helping his clients, which even goes beyond personal training. Even though I was somewhat experienced when starting to train with Ryck, he's managed to get me to achievements I never even dreamed of. Anyone would be lucky to have him as a trainer. Had I not moved to a different state, I'd still be training with him without a doubt.
Matt is working with me twice a week on strength training especially for my core. He is very knowledgeable, professional, and very pleasant to work with. He is patient yet on each machine or exercise he frequently asks me if I can go up on weight, stretch further, etc. He creates a varied routine for me & I enjoy the sessions. Matt is always looking out for my safety & guides me as to proper form. He always takes into account my specific weak areas. He is flexible w scheduling. I've worked with three very good trainers however, I feel I've made the most progress toward my goals with Matt. I look forward to my sessions with Matt & my mind/body feel good when I go home. I know I'm in good, professional, experienced hands.
Working with Jason is great. I've seen increases in my strength and flexibility. I'm going from 2 to 3 days a week training with him.
Briana has been an incredible coach! She trained me for my 2nd 70.3 Ironman last May over a 5month period and I PR'd by 51minutes!!! She's attentive to my specific needs during training and was able to taylor my workouts to fit my busy schedule and an unexpected bought of shin splints. I couldn't have done so well without her guidance and insight. We live over an hour apart so my workouts were sent to me via a training app since she couldn't be physically with my during most of my training, however she always made me feel like she was right there training with me with her checks via text or training peeks. She always has words of encouragement on the tough days and kudos for the days I killed my workouts. She's an incredible coach which is why I've now enlisted her help to train me for my next full marathon. I highly recommend Coach Bri to anyone looking to take their upcoming fitness event to the next level.
After taking a hiatus from lifting, I started training with Jordan in January 2018. His guidance, structure and motivation was exactly what I needed to get me back into shape. Thanks to his hypertrophy and strength programs, and I've dropped 8% body fat in 6 months--all while adding lean mass. Here are my RESULTS with Jordan: Jan 12, 2018: 26.9% body fat | 124lb bodyweight June 15, 2018: 18.3% body fat | 127lb bodyweight Lifts as of June 2018 (no belt): Squat 135lb x 5 Deadlift 155lb x 5 Bench 85lb x 5 Hip thrust 225lb x 6 Dead hang pull ups 5 x 6 sets Jordan is highly experienced and knowledgeable--not only from training clients for the past 10+ years--but from his own training as a hardcore competitive endurance athlete. He finished a 99-mile bike race in Sonoma this May in 5:20 (and came in 1st), has multiple marathons, ultramarathons--and even Ironman--under his belt. What an inspiration!! He also lifts, so his strength-focused clients benefit enormously from his wealth of expertise. Oh yeah, I've seen him bang out 20 dead hang pull ups under 60 seconds--with flawless form! Here are other reasons why Jordan is such an exceptional trainer (though there are too many to list): *He is highly attentive to injury prevention and correct technique. He knows just the right amount to push you, without you compromising your form. He'll have you do corrective stretches and exercises to fix muscle imbalances. *He's super organized. He tracks your workouts and body composition measurements on a shared Google sheet. No old-school "clipboard and paper" workout sheets. *He is a hardcore fitness geek with a science-based approach to training. He stays abreast with the latest strength and conditioning research, for your benefit (he's studying to be CSCS). *He is dedicated to his clients. He is responsive whenever I have a question for him outside of training time. Schedule permitting, Jordan has so generously stayed "overtime" to wrap up my workout--even though I was his last client after a long day! Jordan has gone private and I now train with him at Truve in downtown Oakland. He also trains clients 2 days a week in San Francisco. Jordan epitomizes the best in his field and will help you get the results you're looking for.
Personal training at its best, very professional.
