Erin gave us dance lessons for our wedding first dance. Even at the last minute, Erin was easy to communicate and schedule with. She managed our time efficiently and clarified anything she felt was unclear during the dance lessons. Erin had a great, friendly, upbeat attitude from beginning to end and made us feel comfortable quickly. Highly recommend!

Marge was a great instructor. I had no idea about any sort of dance, which wasn't a problem for marge. She was great at showing us how to do any dance we wanted, starting from the very basics to the more advanced steps. Her home studio is very clean, easy to practice in, and has great acoustics/lighting. I would highly recommend marge and fascinating dance school for any of your dance needs.

My church wanted to do a program of three Latin Dance lessons over the course of a month. We looked for somebody to do this and we found the most marvelous teacher --- Ruth Caspary of Latin Connection Dance. First of all, she was really professional and easy to plan with. And she had good suggestions for the planning. We were able to fit in bachata, salsa, and American tango. Super! Second, she came on site (we have a great space with a wooden floor) with her equipment and music and was ready to teach. Third, she is a super teacher. She accounted for each person's abilities and was energetic and generous with her time. We all learned a lot and had great fun, too. Last, but not least, she is social and friendly, a good conversationalist as well as a great teacher. There's no question who we'd go to in the future.

I know Emily from riding AIDS lifecycle with her a few years back. I reached out to her about 2 months prior to my wedding for First Dance lessons with my fiancé. We have weekly lessons at a studio space on Missouri street in SF. She is easy to work with and schedule lessons. Her prices are very reasonable and she even donates $10 of every lesson to a charity close to her that you pick! (we chose ALC) Emily is great. She is very knowledgeable and very aware of teaching same-sex partner dancing. I knew she would be a valuable instructor for that reason and refused to go to a stock dance studio. We have choreographed an entire song, and every week we get better and better. The hour spent with Emily is full of smiles, laughter and overall great time. My partner and I look forward to dance lessons every week! She is a joy to be around and very helpful. I highly recommend Emily to anyone looking for dance lessons! (We even drive up from Palo Alto to see her!)

Freddy is fabulous! We hired her for a mom / son dance for his bar mitzvah. This was not a typical slow dance. We asked her to copy the choreography from our favorite video. She showed up at the studio having already broken down the choreography for us. Then she had us go through some warmup dancing and started the choreography. She was incredibly responsive to our needs. I wanted the dance broken down for me a certain way so I could nail the steps. She was supportive of my son, who had never taken a dance lesson. Within the time we booked, we nailed the dance and video'd the choreography. Cannot say enough good things about Freddy. She's upbeat, friendly and makes you feel welcome in a dance studio.

We took dance lessons from Alpa for our first dance at our wedding reception. She choreographed the whole thing and even asked us for our input and offered to let us change things based on comfort and preference. She did a great job though and me being the control freak that I am, I'm surprised that I didn't have a single change request! Let me stress that neither one of us are dancers and I was very worried about doing the dance in front of so many of our friends and family. But Alpa was so patient with us and made us feel so comfortable. We feel like we've known her for years yet we just met her a couple weeks ago! We learned the dance in two lessons and we will be back for our final lesson next week just to practice in front of her with my 25 lb lehenga and heels. If you need dance lessons of any kind, she is your girl! Thank you, Alpa! We are so thrilled that you will be a part of our big day in such a big way.

Desiree was such a pleasure to work with! We found Desiree on Yelp after finding out the person we originally wanted to commit to was no longer available and it honestly could not have worked out for the better! Desiree choreographed our waltz + hip-hop dance (~3.5 mins) over the course of 6 45-minute lessons (1 of those lessons was an evaluation for her to test our ability to handle certain difficulty levels and direction). DESIREE THE INSTRUCTOR: She was extremely patient and flexible with our schedules and not once pushed for any extra lessons we didn't need. Her technique made it really easy for us to grasp certain movements that we found difficult to learn. It made us feel good that she took the time to repeat anything we weren't sure of. After we had gotten the steps down, she made sure we took time to focus on hand movements/gestures and facial expressions (another really important part of any dance performance). DESIREE + YOU: It's important to note that learning a dance is a two-way street: you need to put in the time to practice and memorize your choreography, too. Your money and Desiree's time will go to waste if you don't commit to practicing. Desiree got us to feel comfortable in breaking out of our boxes to do something challenging and fun for our wedding -- it was worth every penny invested in these lessons. My husband and I got to bond over trying something new and we enjoyed every moment of it. I hope we never forget the choreography! We will be sending anyone interested in dance lessons her way. DESIREE'S MASTERPIECE: You can find our choreographed dance here: Angle 1 (youtu.be/N1ODzIxOl88) Angle 2 (youtu.be/oXn2FFTHvQ4)

"First Dance" lessons with choreography assistance less than 2 weeks out from our wedding. We started out with 2 and extended it to 3 lessons. Joseph was really helpful instructing the two of us that have no background in dancing. In 1 hour we had the basis for a first dance at our wedding. In 2 hours he got us better at that and added flourishes. In 3 hours he worked on the entire production. He knows what he's doing and has fun doing it.

I have grown as a dancer and become invested in the Bay Area's flamenco community through the art, passion and mentoring of Yaelisa and Caminos Flamencos. This dance company not only offers a diverse mix of classes, performances and special events, but also invites dancers, musicians and audience members of all ages and stages to immerse themselves in the rich inner workings of the world of flamenco. To me, Yaelisa is the matriatch of flamenco in the Bay Area. She not only understands flamenco but also understands how to teach it- challenging students to study and master not only choreographies but also the compas, the history, the palmas and the roots that flamenco has grown from. Her classes kick ass- and her choreographies even moreso. Yaelisa has mentored countless flamenco dancers who have now begun to thrive as teachers in their own right. I respect her community-building skills and her commitment to her students and fellow artists in the Bay Area. And on a personal note, I have gone from being a clueless, self-conscious beginner to embrace curiosity, dedication and joy as a true student of this art form. Caminos Flamencos performances are thrilling to watch and even more thrilling to perform in. The community that Caminos Flamencos attracts is infectious in its love for this art form. I'm so grateful to have stumbled into flamenco as a result of the Yaelisa's memorable 'Boy with a Coin' music video almost 10 years ago now. Keep it coming!

Jessica is super encouraging, understanding, and enthusiastic about what she does. I have always wanted to learn how to dance; however, my biggest barrier is my fear to just let loose. Jessica is super patient with me. She teaches me new moves and provides the space to try them out. I'm still in the process of getting over my fear but with each lesson, I feel myself feeling a little more confident than the lesson before. Jessica definitely does a good job of pushing me to get better without making me feel uncomfortable.

I hired Paula to teach a swing dance lesson during my boyfriend's 30th birthday party and the whole process could not have been smoother. Paula was super flexible, easy to book with and had great follow through. She arrived perfectly on time for the lesson and was a true delight. My boyfriend has taken tons of swing dancing classes over the years and he said that she was the best teacher he's ever had. She spent time helping every couple in our group and her experience really showed. I cannot possibly recommend her more highly!

I have been learning dance from Sonly for more than 10 years. She is a great dancer ( simply a professional dander in my eye as I see at dance show/contests) and at a same time a great teacher. Her passion for teaching is so strong that you are inspired to learn and to improve (I was a person who was too shy to dance when I started with Sonly and become one who has good confidence of myself). What makes her exceptional is her insight of music and lead you to dance with understanding of music. I am also very impressed by her teaching ability that she sees exactly and precisely in each individual what to work on. She is also sensitive to feelings of students and coach in way you feel comfortable. I love Sonly!!! Trust me, you will lover her to be your teacher!!!

Dancing is a passion of mine. I do hip hop dancing and i choreograph my own pieces. I would love to be your teacher and after first class if you dont like what i do you are guaranteed that that specific class will be free. We would be working on different aspects of hip hop and learning some of my choreography and doing freestyle to boost up your confidence in doing your own thing. This experience would be a learning process for me as much as it would be for you.

I don't just love what I do, I live it :) I started teaching dance because I want to share this passion that I have with other people, whether it is for fun, exercise, or passion. I think that when I teach dance, I gain more knowledge about dancing. And we just have fun most of the time.
