I hired Chef Rocco to give my 17 and 18 year old nieces a cooking lesson. He was informative, fun and interactive. The dishes we made were delicious and easy. He showed us proper knife skills and good kitchen organization. I would definitely recommend Chef Rocco for cooking lessons or as a private chef for your next party!

Chef Sat did a spectacular job for my girlfriend's birthday party! I had two previous chefs flake out on me, the first being completely unresponsive, and the second not answering a request for a quote and then going completely over budget. Sat stepped in with only a few days to organize, and was more professional and invested in the event than I could have hoped for. Sat listened carefully as I rambled about which ingredients I was hoping to include on the menu, and provided great feedback about what would be in season, what we would be able to find with good quality, and how we could break from a traditional menu in order to squeeze in as much variety as possible. He patiently revised his menu 4-5 times for me to address every detail I could throw at him - and, remember, this was all with under a week to plan the event. Sat also helped me rent dishware, and was very transparent about what would be needed, and what things would cost - this was a huge time saver. At the party, Sat was charismatic and charming. He thoroughly cleaned the entire kitchen and packaged all our leftovers while we ate. He fielded our questions about his background, cooking techniques, sourcing tools and ingredients. The Bottom line, I would hire Sat again in a heartbeat. Thanks for the wonderful evening!

Alisa is very professional. Her food was very delicious and everyone enjoyed her cooking. On Nov 9, 2014 our non profit outreach organization held a fund raising event. Everyone told me her food was out of this world. I highly recommend Alisa's services. Alisa is amongst the best around the Bay Area. My husband Garth, myself and our volunteers enjoyed Alisa and her tasty dishes.

Zach was excellent! We had a total of 6 private cooking lessons over the course of 4 months. Each time he came to our house for a couple hours as we created a wide variety of my favorite dishes from local restaurants in Sonoma. He taught us ways to modify a meal so you could have more variety with the same dish by just changing a few spices or ingredients, what to look for to know you're on the right track or how to "save a dish" if you veer off, and different techniques that were really useful. I'd highly recommend him!

Meenu taught a class at for our dorm @ Stanford University. We had a great time learning some of the basics about Indian spices and applying them in Indian cuisine. The dishes she prepared were fantastic. Meenu was very accommodating and did the lesson in our kitchen! All the ingredients she used were expertly chosen and she advised us on how to get started cooking Indian cuisine on our own!

We absolutely loved our french cooking lesson with Mashav! She created a custom menu for the class based on our suggestions and fresh local ingredients. She walked us through each step carefully and answered all of our questions. The final result -- 4 made-from-scratch french dishes -- was phenomenal. To top it all off, Mashav was very organized and easy to plan the class with.

My friends and I hired Julian for a mixology lesson, and he was simply outstanding! Julian suggested two great cocktails - the sazerac and the cherry blossom flip - and did a great job teaching, bartending, and creating a chill and fun atmosphere. He truly is jubilant - his warmth, sparkling personality, quick wit, and enthusiasm for his craft made for a truly memorable evening!

My wife took a private macaron making lesson with Dolcetto. In her own words: "Cecilia is super knowledgable and incredibly helpful troubleshooting my many failed macaron batches. She brought all ingredients and equipment including a small oven to my place which was extremely convenient. The end results were beautiful and I'm now more confident making macarons on my own."

I requested for a pastry chef to make cookies and cupcakes for the Super Bowl- Keri sent me a quote and made amazing goodies! I wanted them to be Seahawks themed and she hand decorated all of the cookies with their logo. Everyone loved them and the cookies were way bigger than expected. Thanks again!

I took 2 private lessons with Chef Veena. And I learnt a lot and was totally amazed at her knowledge and her passion. I was taught exactly how to do prep work, then actual cooking and also tips to make the recipe and I was sent home with the dish I cooked with recipe booklet and assurance that she is always available to answer any queries/doubts I may have after trying it out at home. Tried I did and emailed her too for totally different dish that I did not learn from her. But she generously answered my queries. If you want to learn age old grandma recipes that tastes divine, then Chef Veena has those secrets... Meena

We hired Jessica to come and cook for us for my intimate bridal shower this year (about 20 people) and she knocked it out of the park! Not only was she a pleasure to work with, but she made us a delicious and healthy spread with lots of options for everyone's tastes and dietary preferences. She worked with me to come up with a perfect menu and I still dream of the carnitas she made that day! We even ended up getting a mini cooking lesson from Jessica - because everyone was so interested in what she made, she took the time to explain everything and my guests couldn't stop chatting with her! She's so engaging and clearly passionate about what she does, I'd recommend her for any event and for cooking lessons too!

    About

I love to cook and teach people how to be confident in the kitchen. We will prepare fun, healthy (some not so healthy but oh so good) and easy recipes. Basic home-cooking skills are taught. Special diets, such as diabetic diets and food allergies, are welcomed. I do not bake homemade breads or pie crust. I let those that do that well continue to do that.

How much do private cooking lessons cost?

You can take private cooking classes to have fun, to learn a new skill, to improve your health, to bond with your partner, to enjoy a playful first date or to have a unique birthday party experience. Nationally the average cost of private cooking lessons ranges between $100 and $150. Prices can vary, depending on where you live, the type of cooking class you’re taking, the ingredients the chef provides, and the reputation of the chef. Cooking classes with Anthony Bourdain will clearly cost more than classes with a local restaurant owner. The number of people in the class will also affect the cost, with group lessons often priced per person to account for the cost of ingredients. For example, for group lessons, a brunch workshop may cost an average of $70 per person, a steak dinner with sides could cost an average of $80-$85 per person, and a sushi lesson could cost an average of $100 per person. Ingredients play a major role in cost, as the chef will pre-purchase the food you will be working with. Weekday classes will usually cost less than weekend classes.
