Introduction: With over 5 years of experience in coaching, I am motivated to not only reach young athletes' fitness goals as a ball-player, but also have them gain the mentorship and knowledge of leadership, health & wellness, and the power of grit through consistent work ethic in the sport of basketball. I drive a large SUV Truck that carries a tone of my workout equipment that is used for my sessions: Pop-up defenders, cones, contact pads, resistance bands, Plyobox (Box-jump), 4lb weight ball, mp3 speaker, etc. During this recent time of COVID-19 and social distancing mandates, I am offering virtual workouts for $25 per hour per athlete. No excuse to not stay in shape and tighten up your skills. I also continue to offer in-person workouts with strict social distancing stipulations: All clients must bring their own basketball, must have a mask with them, a sweat-towel, and at least two water bottles. I, the coach, will remain with a mask on throughout the session and will provide a hand-sanitizer to be frequently used. I will also manage to remain six-feet of distance. Accountability: I personally am tested for COVID-19 every two weeks to ensure my negative status as I continue to work with athletes.

Super knowledgeable with tons of drills to work on specific skills. Incorporates conditioning into his lessons simulating game fatigue. Always brings energy. Challenges athlete while being encouraging at the same time. I highly recommend “Coach T“ to basketball players of all ages. Be ready to work and get better.

Coach T has been doing 1:1 basketball training with our 12-year-old son for a few months. Our son absolutely loves working with Coach T. He is the perfect combination of a coach who challenges players, holds them to high standards and is also incredibly supportive and positive. He clearly cares about helping our son develop as both an athlete and a person. I highly recommend him!!

Basketball Lessons

Coach Tokunbo is an awesome trainer. He has great work ethics and lots of experiences. He has a very good understanding on basketball. I am not a competitive basketball player and just wanted to get some exercises done and he planed good workout sessions for me. He traveled to SF and worked out me with in a park and it was a good time.

Coach T, he is amazing. I am so glad I am getting trainings from him. Basketball has always been my passion since middle school. However I kept playing and playing and kinda hit the glass ceiling. That’s why I reached out to Coach T. And he was not just helping me with my drills for Basketball, also he told me that Basketball is a mental game, he helped me so much with my mindset before I even getting on the court. He helped me big time to remove the mental blocks which holding my back for years. Now I finally could be more present when I play basketball also, enjoying every moment every second of the game. Before I met Coach T, I just always saw basketball games as a competition and winning was everything for me which I didn’t know how to have fun during the games. Now, thru the trainings with Coach T, he taught me how to have fun and a good time while playing with my teammates, that was a huge break through for me. I’ve been waiting for this for years. That’s actually bigger than basketball itself which I could apply it to life in different aspects. Overall I would give Coach T 5+ stars and I would highly recommend Coach T to people who wants to do more with your Basketball games! I’m very satisfied with all the trainings with Coach T and will 110% continue the trainings with him moving forward. Thank you so much Coach T for everything you taught me I am very, very grateful! 🙏 Yichuan Li

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My baseline price is $50 per 1-hour workout session. I offer discounts depending on various factors. I apply late cancellation/ late rescheduling fees if the request, or cancellation, is within 24 hours of the booked date. I also offer package deals. Ask me about them!

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I typically assess my clients where I am consulting them on what their experience in basketball has been like thus far, and what goals do they have for their future in the sport. I am highly communicative and believe building a rapport is essential for the growth of the player and the trust of the parent. Soon after the consultation, I conduct a general fitness and skills workout where I am able to analyze what areas of strengths and improvements are shown. This way, I will be able to visually process how and where I am most effective for the athlete to grow.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have over 20 years of experience playing the sport of basketball and I continue to play for my own growth and benefit to this very day. I have hired a trainer in my high school years and I still have a good relationship with that trainer. I am also a recent graduate out of the University of San Francisco's Sport Management Master's program.
