It was a pleasure to have worked with Israel, his brother Jose, and their father Israel Sr. They are licensed (formal classes taken) experts in stain removal and carpet cleaning and have been in the business for more than a decade. They were highly efficient with setup at our 3-story townhouse and had all the proper machinery and equipment to deep clean and dry out our carpet, tiles (2nd floor), bed, and couch upholestry. They even cleaned the staircase one more time after they completed the tile cleaning. Our place looks fresh, new, and move-in ready! Pictures attached is a testament to the quality of work from Coronado Carpet Cleaning. Israel and family are very easy to work with and are very fun personable people. I enjoyed working with them and am very fortunate and thankful to have met them. I look forward to working with them regularly.

David is a very nice and responsible guy. I find him on the website. He is a genius in installing doors. I need a patio door exchanged. After we talked over the phone, he set my reservation immediately. It was the next day David came to my house to measure the door size and accompanied me to choose a very nice patio door. On the day the door was delivered, David spent the whole day installing my patio door. As you know, the patio door is both large and heavy, only the skilled man can install it perfectly. David did it!! He carefully checked the strike plate and the metal piece on the jam where the door latched to make sure it is not too low or too high. David also checked the hinges to look for uneven lines. The gaps all around the door were same all the way. We can’t see any imperfection about David’s work. My patio door was finally installed beautifully. I love my patio door so much that I can’t thank David any more. The price for installing the door is very reasonable. In the end, David gave us free lubricant, paint, brushes, stain marker, etc. David also came and helped clean the patio the other day, for which I appreciated a lot. David is a responsible man for installing doors, if you have any kind of doors for installing, don’t miss such a good man.

After the recent heavy rains, a dark dye leaked out of a coir doormat I had just bought and badly stained the cement at my front door. Arisel offered three possible solutions to the problem, ranging from trying to bleach and power washing it off to repouring the affected rectangle of cement. Because I anticipated difficulty in getting the approval of my condo community and wanted my front door to look nice again right away, I opted for the bleach/power washing option. It completely removed the stain! Arisel was great in every other aspect of the job, too. He responded promptly and thoroughly to all emails and texts, fit me in immediately and at a time convenient to my work schedule, and also had a cheerful yet professional demeanor. I plan to hire him again soon to replace some faulty ceiling lights and handle any other projects that come up.

Eric was great. Super nice. Came in and inspected the carpet first and then brought in the artillery! I have a small apartment and it took him only a half hour to clean. He lifted up the light stains we had. Carpet was wet for a long period of time but that’s to be expected. About a 24 hour period of wet carpets but not crazy wet. I will definitely use again. Great price. Great service. Eric was 20 minutes late which was not a big deal but a call to just let me know he was late due to difficulty finding parking in my area would have been nice. Again no big deal. I am a super punctual person so am a little tightly wound as far as punctuality. David P San Francisco

Jose was prompt, professional and went above and beyond what was required for the job to get my carpet cleaned. The stain didn't come out the first time and he came back and picked up the carpet and worked on it over the weekend at his shop. The stain is now almost completely out (I think only a miracle could get it fully out) and he even offered a full refund of the job (that also included another carpet where the stains were removed just fine) if I wasn't happy with the service, which I declined. Would highly recommend for his professionalism and willingness to do right by the customer.

Liliana did an amazing job with a move-out cleaning for our appt (both deep cleaning + carpet cleaning). She was responsive, punctual, and flexible (we had some last-minute changes in our schedule and she worked with us to sort out all the details). We would definitely hire her again, and have already referred her to others who were impressed with her team's work.

Once upon a time, my apartment carpet was beige. But after 4 years of SF wear and tear - and ineffectual yearly cleanings by other professionals - my roommates and I just grew to accept that our carpet would remain a light gray, mottled with stubborn food and wine stains. Turns out what our carpet really needed was Leopoldo! He was very punctual and arrived at our apartment 15 minutes early. Then, he proceeded and worked miracles on our carpet - and in about half the time we had anticipated. Our carpet has never looked better!

This was an odd project where we wanted to use a large Bukara knotted carpet as wall to wall. We are builders ourselves but no carpet people wanted to touch the project. Dennis got to me right away after I posted on Thumbtack-my first time- and talked me through the project with advice that we took and it came out fantastic. We had one long phone call and two shorter ones re various tools and details. We talked enough about Marmoleum and carpet that now I have a new and for real flooring outfit for our projects.

I had spoken to Alex (owner) about our carpet's problem with wicking. He was very helpful and took time out to discuss the issue. He was straight forward about what results we might have and what could or could not be done going forward. José (his assistant) was on time friendly and totally professional. He took his time and worked diligently to remove stains in carpet. I'm very pleased with the service and have all intentions of continuing to use them.

Overall excellent deep cleaning job. I have had other carpet cleaners who used small suction equipment who got the room clean but these guys give you the assurance of a better professional job. They also gave a nice discount for being local.

Luxor Floors is an overall A+. Once I submitted my project on Thumbtack Luxor Floors reached out to me. Patrick was a pleasure to work with. He came out and was very honest about our floor planning and what he recommended and what would be a waste of money. The type of carpet he suggested for us wasn't your basic type of carpet. Luxor saved us a significant amount of money compared to our first quote by one of the radio advertised retail stores. Once our carpet was delivered Patrick had set up an appointment for installation that weekend. He worked around our schedule to insure we didn't have to miss work. Antonio was the gentleman who removed and installed our carpet and was a pleasure as well. Very respectful and hardworking. All in all I would recommend Luxor flooring to anyone that is looking to upgrade the flooring in the home.

I had recently decided to get all new bedroom furniture, and when I moved the old furniture out - I discovered that somehow when my dog was a puppy, he was able to squeeze himself under my bed and dressers and pee in multiple areas, that were unseen until now. Distressed, and with new furniture on the way, I needed to get my floor fixed in a hurry, there was no way I'm sleeping with all new furniture on pee stained floors. So after reading some yelp reviews, I decided to contact Andro. He responded within an hour, and we made an appointment for him to look at my floor. After giving me a quote, he was able to start the work in a few days, and finish well before my deadline. What impressed me about Andro was his prompt communication. Anytime I emailed or texted him, I got an immediate response. The next most impressive thing was his knowledge of flooring - he used the latest materials and techniques, and was able to explain what he was doing and why. Then came the finished floor - absolutely amazing work. He had the difficult task of replacing those pee stained boards, as well as matching the color to the rest of the house, since he was only refinishing part of it. I was also impressed by how clean he keeps his work area - he sealed off and protected all the parts of the house that might be effected by the dust from sanding. Andro is the third person to have ever worked on my floors, and I say this with all sincerity, he is by far the best. Going forward, he's going to be the only person I call when I need work done. Please don't hesitate to use his services, you won't regret it.

BEST OF THE BEST PROFESSIONAL CARPET CLEANING IN MARIN "DONE RIGHT"

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

Who cleans area rugs?

Like your carpets, area rugs should ideally be cleaned at least once a year to remove dust and dirt and help them last longer. In general, carpet cleaning professionals also clean area rugs. Some rug cleaners bring their cleaning equipment to your home, while others remove your area rugs and clean them at their facilities. Either way, the rug should be cleaned with the solution most appropriate to its specific fabric and construction. It should also be completely dry before you return it to the floor.

How often should carpets be steam cleaned?

Dirty carpets can be unhealthy for the people living in the home, particularly those who have allergies, so it’s important to have them cleaned regularly; simply vacuuming once or twice a week isn’t enough. Carpet cleaning should be done by a professional carpet cleaning service at least once a year to remove grime and help extend the life of your carpet. Most carpet manufacturers recommend professional steam cleaning, which penetrates deep into the carpet fibers and lifts out both dirt and the pollutants that get tracked inside. Steam cleaning also removes most of the moisture, so carpets dry quickly enough for homeowners to resume using them the same day. Between professional carpet cleanings, your carpet may need an emergency spot cleaning. Pet accidents, food or drink spills, and more can often be effectively cleaned with some water and a drop of white vinegar, although many cleaners will also make house calls for smaller spills and hard-to-clean spots like wine or grease stains.

How much does it cost to carpet a bedroom?

If you’re building a new home, remodeling, or ready for new carpet in your bedroom, you’ll want to know carpet installation costs. Here are the factors that affect the cost of your new bedroom carpet:

  • Installation cost per square yard: From under $2 to over $6. Carpet companies have a labor cost per square foot for installing your new carpet. Depending on where you live in the country, that rate can vary greatly. This rate does not include the cost of the carpet.
  • Type of carpet: from $1 per square foot to $20 or more per square foot. The fibers that make up your carpet will have a direct effect on cost. As an example, specialty wool carpets may start at about $10 per square foot, while a manufactured fiber like nylon may be about $2 per square foot.
  • Removal of old carpet: from $1 to $4 per square yard. Old carpet is labor-intensive to remove and also costs money to dispose of or recycle. The cost to remove carpet will depend on how much carpet you need removed and whether your installation pros offer a discounted rate for installing your new carpet at the same time.
  • Subfloor repair: from $40 to $70 per hour (plus materials cost). If the flooring underneath your old carpet is damaged, it must be repaired before the new carpet is installed. Many carpet pros can offer this service, or you can hire a handyman to handle the job.
  • Type of carpet pad: $1 per square yard and up, depending on the thickness. The cost to install carpet pad is typically included with the labor cost per yard of installing the carpet itself.

How much does it cost to clean a rug?

Area rugs are typically found in high-traffic areas of the home, like hallways and entryways, so they collect more dirt and stains than simple vacuuming can handle. Similar to carpet cleaning, professionals can come to your home to deep-clean your area rugs. The national average cost for rug cleaning ranges from $80 to $120, but may be higher or lower depending on the rug’s size and fiber type. Rug cleaners generally charge by the square foot; for example, a standard 8-foot by 10-foot rug costs an average of $100 to clean. Natural fiber rugs, such as wool or silk, are usually more expensive to have cleaned than synthetic rugs. A carpeting cleaning company may charge on average $1.50 per square foot to clean a synthetic rug, $2 per square foot for a wool rug, and $3 per square foot for a silk rug. Some delicate rugs need to be washed by hand, which increases the price. Carpet cleaning companies often offer additional services, such as removing odors or applying moth deterrent, which can add 20 cents to 25 cents per square foot.

How much does it cost to clean a carpet?

Carpet cleaning costs vary depending on the type of cleaning, such as steam cleaning, and whether there are any stains that require special treatment. The main cost factors are the square footage of the carpet and the material it’s made from. The national average carpet cleaning price ranges from $100 to $130 for a typical suburban home, but steam cleaning prices start at an average of $120. In general, professional carpet cleaning ranges from an average of 20 cents to 50 cents per square foot, depending on where you live. Many companies have a minimum fee or room requirement — such as two rooms for an average of $40 each — and will charge more to clean carpeted stairs or a second floor. Finally, the carpet fiber type, density and pile will also affect the cost of cleaning; man-made fibers are stain-resistant and easier to clean, while wool carpeting is sensitive to water and requires more care.
