First Mother Nature cleaned a throw rug non-toxically for me. It came out perfect. Then they cleaned 700 sq ft of tile flooring with grout. That too, came out perfectly. I am sensitive to chemicals and I am most grateful that they use all natural products. Hooray for them (and hooray for all of us)!

RIcardo was great - super helpful, knowledgeable and efficient. He was incredibly responsive and was willing to pitch in on additional things to help make my move out as smooth as possible. For projects he helped install some flooring, paint, move some furniture and patch some holes. Would recommend him for sure.

Stephani and her team were so easy to work with and the results were every bit as good as I’d expected from other reviews. Plus, my apartment smelled fresh and clean; not like bleach and Pine Sol like some cleaners I’ve used. I’ll definitely hire them again.

Liliana and crew were absolutely amazing in their work. My regular cleaners (team of 3) take 2 hours to do the job while Liliana ( team of 2) took over 6 hours. They cleaned the house so thoroughly that I booked them for another assignment on the spot. I wish they would consider weekly / biweekly/monthly service so that I could make them my "go to" service.

Vyron With his crew-Marco and Pablo did their jobs well. Painting the window trims and baseboards, doors, garage as well as caulking were time consuming but they paid attention to detail. We had wanted to change the roman tub faucet trim but it was unreachable from the access door. In the end, we had to create another acccess door, modify the plumbing. The results were great and we have a beautiful chrome Faucet in place.

Very affordable and pretty flexible with scheduling. My cleaners use nontoxic supplies, are nice and friendly with me, my family, and even my dogs. Its easy to request an extra service like adding on a room or dishes or laundry if we have a particularly hectic week.

Great service. Our carpets were horrible with years of previous stains and new puppy spots in numerous places. We needed them sanitized cleaned to last thru puppy training before we replaced them. Dan ran the 360i with pet solution thru the entire house and the carpets and smell look amazing. We were embarrassed of our carpets before and now we can have company over without the dread of our family and friends grossing out. Thx u Dan you were very kind and professional. Great job! See you in the future for tile and grout cleaning.

Understand we can’t give 5 stars only because WE are extremely meticulous house cleaners... WHEN we have the time to clean. So some thoughtful crevices were overlooked like the windowsills, but you wouldn’t notice it. Her floor cleaning is magical, and she was very receptive to me pointing anything out and perfecting it. Very clearly not slacking!

These people were amazing! I scheduled a deep cleaning with them only a few days before our apartment move-out date. When our move-out date came, my roommate and I left to unpack at our new apartment while they cleaned. When we got back later for a final walkthrough with our landlord, we couldn't believe how clean the apartment was. Even our landlord commented on the fact that we must have hired great cleaners. We ended up getting our entire security deposit back. Overall, I am very satisfied

They arrived on time and were exceptionally thorough and professional in their work. Tile, grout, and granite were cleaned and sealed. The finished product was better than when we had received it when it was brand new. They also gave me advice on what specific products to buy and how to use them properly to maintain each of the surfaces. Thank you!

Lorhany did a wonderful job cleaning my home. I am pretty picky and not easily satisfied with the work of house cleaners in the past but Lorhany’s Work beat them all. She first came to my home to discuss my preferences and for me to answer any questions she had. She was prompt for this meeting. I was at work when she cleaned but she stayed in touch. Communication is great.

Excellent job done. Generally the cleaners get exhausted by the end and leave things halfway cleaned. But these girls did a great job and finished it perfectly

Angel really came through for my clients. I'm a real estate agent and I have two listings that were in need of updating their bathroom showers, tub and one countertop. Angel updated all three bathrooms and kitchen countertop in one day. He came through for my company. He will be the first person I call whenever I need tile grout updating. I'm 100% satisfied by price and his work. Angel was easy going and focused on me being satisfied by his work. Thanks again Angel!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How can I get my grout clean?

Dirt, mildew and grime can make your grout lines look downright tragic. If you have the ability, DIY tile and grout cleaning is definitely doable. Your main obstacles are time, project size, availability of the right materials and effort. Your first step in tile and grout cleaning is making sure the surface area is cleaned of basic dirt and buildup and wiped down. Be sure not to use a bleach-based cleaning agent, which could react dangerously with the vinegar used in later steps.

Depending on the delicacy of your tile and grout, it may be wise to start with water and friction before proceeding to a cleaning solution. In the shower you can spray the area while brushing gently, or use a spray bottle filled with warm water on countertops or floors. If water won’t do the trick, try a solution of equal parts warm water and white vinegar, and repeat the gentle brushing motion. This combination should begin to lift dirt and grime from the grout. For additional tile and grout cleaning power, baking soda applied directly to grout lines and sprayed with your water vinegar solution can help suds off sticky grime. If your DIY cleaning solutions aren’t doing the trick, store-bought sprays and pastes may have more cleansing power. Rinse thoroughly after cleaning and enjoy your sparkling clean grout.

Tile and grout cleaning supplies include:

  • Old standard or electric toothbrush
  • Stiff bristle brush
  • Spray bottle
  • White vinegar
  • Commercial grout cleaner

How much does it cost to clean tile and grout?

The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Pros may charge a flat fee or by the square foot. Rates can vary depending on the type of tile and grout you have (more delicate tiles may mean specialized products or careful handwashing), how dirty your tile and grout are, and what part of the country you are in (regional labor rates and costs to do business affect costs). For example, one floor cleaning company charges 75 cents per square foot for tile and grout cleaning for projects that permit cleaning by machine. Another company may charge $30-$50 per hour for hand-cleaning of tiles. Companies often charge a minimum fee for services to ensure their business expenses are met when they accept a job, no matter how small. In addition, a tile and flooring cleaning professional may charge added fees, such as $25 or more, to move heavy furniture or appliances.

How do professionals clean tile and grout?

If you need tile and grout cleaning and don’t have the time or mobility for scrubbing your entire house on your hands and knees, it’s time to turn to the pros. Tile and grout cleaning professionals have industrial-grade machines designed for the sole task of cleaning the porous materials of grout and tile. Typically, a cleaning pro will come out to assess the job and provide you with a quote. Often they charge per square foot (for example, 75 cents per square foot), with higher prices or an hourly rate for areas that will need hand cleaning. The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Once onsite, the pros thoroughly clean the area by wiping or sweeping down and then vacuuming up any dry dirt. Next a chemical tile cleaner is sprayed over the surface, causing dirt to loosen and adhere to the spray; the industry term for this is “suspension.” The pros then clean the floor with professional-strength machines, which often use a combination of steam, brushes and vacuum to loosen, agitate and lift entrenched dirt. Your floor is then rinsed, removing all the spray. Usually a small room can be cleaned in under an hour. Applying a sealant afterward is recommend and will also affect cost.
