Introduction: Hi, I'm Marisa Musso (she/they). I specialize in the LGBTQ community with decades of personal and academic understanding of the community including transition and the coming out process. Being your authentic self requires frequently addressing social constructionism such as: heteronormativity, false gender roles, discrimination, homophobia, biphobia, passing, traditional monogamy and ableism. This counseling & coaching work is for you if you want to continue moving forward in becoming the person you want to be. Navigating your own minority identities and the isolation which often accompanies them presents us with rich opportunities to normalize that which is stigmatized. I’m known for my ability to examine information from many different perspectives and finding your strengths. Let’s get inquisitive and creative about how you can take practical actions towards discovering and becoming the person you want to be today and going forward. Bisexual, Pansexual, Queer, Gay, Lesbian, Trans Loving more than one gender is a beautiful thing and sexual identities are multidimensional. Sometimes expanding your labels can be liberating e.g. pansexual, demisexual, gender queer, trans, asexual. Your fluid desires and attractions are normal and understanding them can make a difference and lead to an empowering sense of belonging. This will apply to areas of dating, partnership, intimacy and relationships in general. Polyamory Every CNM (consensual non-monogamy) relationship looks different. Open relationships, poly, and monogamish structures carry a complexity that often requires some intense self-reflection and an empathic confidant. Ethical non-monogamy is freedom with responsibility, not freedom from responsibility. Let’s visualize the relationships and intimacy you desire, clarify agreements, address feelings of jealousy and establish healthy boundaries. Note: I do not work with couples My other specialty is Disability. Especially the Deaf/Hard of Hearing Community. I'm culturally competent and ASL (American Sign Language) fluent specializing in supporting future-oriented goals on your quest for authenticity. If you or someone close to you is experiencing a disability or hearing loss, let me guide you through this challenging transition. There are countless communication tools, technology, resources and entire communities waiting for you.

Marisa has helped me work through challenging communication situations with co-workers and friends. She helps me stay focused on my intentions when I'm feeling stuck. The realistic and incredibly useful goals we created together have helped me have a stronger sense of self as I shift to a more powerful position in my career. Our work together has also allowed me to feel more connected in my friendships.

Working with them has truly been a life changing experience. I learned how to tap into my confidence when dating/socializing and better understand how to handle rejection and negativity. I no longer question if I'm queer enough and this confidence has made my relationship grow. Plus, my anxiety is less now, since I'm not constantly worrying.

I've been working with Marisa for a couple of months now and it has been a great experience. She can somehow see through my words, and then together we make more meaning of it, and I get to know myself better <3 I just got forward with important topics in life so much quicker! I also love that she gives me little tasks to do between sessions, that deepen my experience. Highly recommendable for LGBTQ+ folks (but not necessarily centered on that). Having a first chat with her and see how we work together was a very good decision for me.

Marisa helped me navigate a process/transition that I was going through. I told them my goals for it and why it was important to me, and they brought to our session a really great set of questions that helped me get at some of fears around the issue and also helped me clarify a few things about it. They have a non-judgy listening style and it was fun and empowering to work w Marisa.
