Introduction: I’m Asha, a licensed bodyworker, aquatic therapist, and somatics practitioner working out of a studio in Oakland.
My bodywork style is an integration of orthopedic deep tissue, shiatsu, myofascial cupping, and structural integration. I utilize Neurokinetic therapy throughout sessions to work strategically and intentionally with problem areas. I take great pride in meeting you where your body is at, assessing you throughout the session, and letting deep listening guide our time together.
I'm also an aquatic bodyworker, trained in Aguahara and Liquid Presence, modalities that work on the surface and underwater. These sessions can be deeply relaxing, rehabilitative, transformative and emotionally cathartic: offering your body an opportunity for weightless compressions and release.

I went to get a medical massage to deal with some chronic issues. What I got was a somatic healing session which helped to deal with old trauma that has been trapped in my body for many many years from a heartfelt, caring, and wise soul way beyond his years. It was a great massage. One of the best I’ve had in a while. Asha uses resistance and movement to get specific areas to open, relax, and get to the knots. It is a flowing and harmonious way to get the body to release tension. Relaxing and effective.

Asha’s massage ranks among the top deep tissue, sports massages I’ve had in the twenty or so years I’ve been getting them. Thorough and deep. I’d run a half marathon the day before seeing Asha, and I described to him the issues, pains and tightness I experienced during the run. I also mentioned some numbness in my arms I’ve been experiencing lately. He targeted key points in my arms, back and legs and spent a good, long time with each. Not the kind of massage you fall asleep to; I had to be pretty engaged. I felt better the next day and was back to running two days later. If you need or just want the best, Asha is probably a good fit.
