FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My rate is $60/hour, with a minimum of 3 hours per session. I also sometimes request a gas stipend if traveling over 30 minutes away. Tips (in cash or gifts) are always appreciated but never expected!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My process usually begins with either an in-person or virtual consultation where you show me your space and what you want support organizing. As the customer, you define the scope of the work. You can either define it by clearly identifying a couple spaces that you want me to work on, or by setting an overall budget for the project and letting me know what your highest priorities are so I can focus on what is most important to you. At the beginning of our first organizing session, I will ask you questions about how you use your spaces to inform how I will organize your things within them. I will take notes on things that are not working, and also let you know if there are any items I would recommend that you acquire to support the creation of more functional systems. I then get to work in your space, with or without you present, based on your preference. If you will not be physically around, I will ask how you want me to communicate with you around any questions that come up. When organizing more un-organized spaces, I usually entirely remove items from the space and organize them into categories before putting them back. If possible, I repurpose items that I find during the organization process (shoe boxes, lid-less tupperware, etc.), to help contain things into more specific categories. If there are any useful items that you are ready to let go of, I will take photos of the items for one of us to post on a platform like Buy Nothing so they can hopefully find a new home. With this support, you can feel good about letting go of the things you no longer need in a way that is responsible, sustainable, and community-oriented.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have self-studied Marie Kondo's method and took a Feng Shui training, but most of my expertise in this work comes from my intuition, my natural ability to understand both people and systems, and years of experience.
