Delia was so thoughtful and kind to my newly blind dog, going above and beyond to make sure he felt safe and comfortable while he stayed at her house. He loved the exercise and company and good love he received while in her care. She has an excellent instinct with animals and clearly knows her stuff!

Delia was wonderful. She helped me out in a pinch and walked my dog when I has surgery. She is extremely knowledgeable about dog behavior and was so nice and kind to my dog Jack when meeting him. I was a little nervous having them go for the first time for a walk with a stranger, and he was a bit nervous too! But he warmed up to her immediately and had a wonderful time. I feel like I can truly trust her to be good to my dog and be able to cope with any emergencies that may arise. Delia is just very personable and her attitude towards animals is apparent and I know I can trust her.

    Q & A

    • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am enrolled in an advanced dog walking class focusing on canine behavior, training and remedial work with on leash aggression. Spotting potential problems and intervening prevents dogs from getting traumatized by other dogs. Everyone wants to walk the easy dogs! Focusing on helping folks who have adopted shelter dogs with questionable history and helping their pets to be the dogs they were meant to be is exciting and rewarding for all involved!
    • How did you get started doing this type of work?
To work at something you love is to never work a day in your life. My passion has always been around kindness and generosity of spirit whether it be people or animals. I wanted to embark on another career that centered on my interests, my strengths and something that emotionally gave back as well. People who open their hearts and homes to animals are pretty special and that's where I want my energy to go, towards kindness and caring.
    • What types of customers have you worked with?
We walk dogs singly or in small packs, in neighborhoods, the hills, trails and beaches. We care for small animals, cats, rodents from drop in visits to feed and clean up and play, to administering insulin shots.
Coverage Area for Oakland Pet Care And Dog Walking is about 3+ miles of Oakland, CA.
