I've had 5 lessons with Ken now and can confidently say he's an excellent teacher. He is incredibly animated and obviously loves teaching. My first class with him consisted of a test of sorts to gauge my current music theory level as well as some basic drills. Since then he's helped me break bad playing habits and tried to steer me towards a less mechanical style of play and practice than I was learning on my own. Ken also teaches a wide variety of musical styles and works with you to figure out where you want to go musically -- he's definitely the kind of teacher who can adapt to whatever you want to accomplish. 5 stars!
Nicolas worked with my son on his high school math. My son was having a terrible time in his classes, and Nicolas acted as a guide and tutor though the years. He was very patient and understanding, and always arrived on time for the tutoring sessions. In the end, my son wound up with A's and B's in the classes, and was accepted to his first-choice college. Thanks, Nicolas!
Dr. Maureen Spranza, is a great music teacher, my son is taking piano classes with her and I'm very grateful with her, because she always take the extra time to make sure my kid is learning, my kid loves Mrs. Maureen because she is a great teacher but also she is a great human being, she really cares about her students. And she not only plays the piano, she plays all the instruments, I hope to see my son become a great musician thanks to the dedication that Maureen puts in his classes. She is a great teacher, she really cares about the education of her students.
My 9 year old daughter is just starting out in musical theatre and Anne's coaching is just such a difference maker for my daughter in learning the how's and why's of stage presence, singing and acting. My daughter learns best 1:1, so she gets so much more out of Anne's instructions and feedback than when my daughter does musical theatre group classes. It's a great adjunct. Anne is warm, nurturing and very professional. I can tell she wants the best for my daughter and the instruction is done with so much care, thought and detail.
Teaching and acting are different skills. Fortunately, Cynthia has mastered both. She combines her understanding of acting technique and human nature with her warmth and humor, and serves up a great meal that will feed your acting chops while you have a great time. I've worked with Cynthia as an actor. She's so talented that I sought her out as a monologue coach and scene study teacher. She coached me on a difficult monologue that I'd written myself, and she brought some real script analysis tools. In scene study, I've been delighted by her choice of material: It's always that perfect blend of something challenging but doable, while being geared to what you need to work on. Go! Sign up! Now!
I worked with Leah on presentation techniques and corporate communication techniques this past year, which was super helpful and insightful for my career. Leah is very observant of behavior and enhances ones self awareness and quickly identifies areas to improve. I would highly recommend Leah for any executive/working professional seeking to find their own voice and style in the work place.
Gino is a fantastic teacher with years of experience. Finding an acting teacher can be a daunting and overwhelming process. Lot's of people claim to be teachers--most are not. Gino is the real deal. He has a deep knowledge of the Meisner Technique and other approaches and his teaching style resonated with me as well as pushed and challenged me, helping me deepen my craft and boost my self-confidence. He is a consummate professional and very intuitive and patient in his approach with actors. I am so grateful to have found Gino as a teacher and a mentor. Each teaching session left me with renewed energy, and inspiration to learn more and more.
Amy Sass is an outstanding theatre and acting coach and a great all-round person. She helped our son ace his audition. I recommend her highly.
I hired Paula to teach a swing dance lesson during my boyfriend's 30th birthday party and the whole process could not have been smoother. Paula was super flexible, easy to book with and had great follow through. She arrived perfectly on time for the lesson and was a true delight. My boyfriend has taken tons of swing dancing classes over the years and he said that she was the best teacher he's ever had. She spent time helping every couple in our group and her experience really showed. I cannot possibly recommend her more highly!
Overall, LPAA and their staff are outstanding. Since my daughter has joined the academy I have seen her skills and techniques improve tremendously. She is excited about class and doesnt want to miss it for anything!! The teachers are passionate about their craft and it translates in their excellent teaching skills. LPAA is the place to be if you are looking for an academy that caters to your whole child. The academy is teaching my daughter everything from technique, to performance acts, to how to read music! The academy is awesome and I am excited about what the future holds for it. I am a proud parent of LPAA and if you are looking for a performance academy that will help develop and mold your child all while having fun, I suggest you check out LPAA.
Both of my children have taken classes through the Lead Tree! They began with audition workshops and moved onto more intense character development with Michael. I would recommend this program to everyone! Michael not only provides invaluable audition techniques and tools, but he also builds confidence. Regardless of whether or not either of my children continue with acting, we will continue with these classes because they are teaching my kids to be confident, composed public speakers. And that is a tool that every child needs.
