FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is on par with professionals in the Bay Area with my level of education and experience. I offer sliding scale spots when they are available.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to meet a person over the phone to get a sense of what they're coming in for, to share my experience and approach, and answer any questions you might have. We decide if it feels like a good fit and then make an appointment for a first session. Once you come in, we follow what comes up for you. If you're stuck, I'll ask you some starting questions and usually it flows from there. If it doesn't flow, that's ok too! We're just getting to know each other and that's a process.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Master's Degree in Social Work (major: community organization and minor: interpersonal process) and a Master's Degree in Public Health (major: health behavior and health education) from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker through the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. I have been practicing psychotherapy since 2007. Therapists are required to take 36 hours of continuing education units in order to keep their licenses up to date so I generally take daylong courses in topics that I'm interested. Most recently, I attended a 2-day workshop on the impact of childhood trauma on development and will be attending a 4 day externship on a couples' therapy approach.
