Walter gave us good suggestions on redoing our back yard. His crew worked their butts off for a week. They removed old stumps, rototilled, put in new sprinklers and sod as well as pavers. , and a retaining wall along our back fence for my wife's flower garden. If and when we redo our front yard we will call Agosto Home Services. Thank you Walter and your crew for a job well done. I have recommended your company twice on neighborhood web site

Gustavo and his crew are outstanding in the quality of their work, their work ethic (reliability, promptness) and depth of experience. I had them do an electrical job for me (that had baffled 2 prior teams), a huge garden job including building planters and a compost bin for a new organic edible garden, irrigation, cover for the air conditioner unit, painting the backyard fence, misc odd jobs etc. I plan to hire them again for a large lighting job and other items on my to-do list. They deserve more than 5 stars!

Green Touch built a vegetable garden in a small underused space in our backyard and I am SO happy with their work. I purchased the vegetables I wanted and they took care of the rest. They built the boxes from redwood so as to avoid any treated wood and they suggested that we use a fine gold sand on the ground. The space looks so great and I am looking forward to harvesting my first batch of winter veggies. I would recommend Carlos and Green Touch!

To create some additional space in the top floor of my garden cottage, I wanted to take advantage of the high ceilings and have a loft space installed. It was important to me that none of the floor space underneath was compromised, and wanted to avoid using supports from the floor. Jasper came over, took the time to understand my needs & vision, and offered a tremendous amount of support and advice as we pursued the design. He presented me with different options, and was sensitive to my pricing considerations. Ultimately, we decided it was best to pursue a minimally viable solution, and then expand on it as my needs changed. Within a week, Jasper showed up with his friend, a truck full of lumber, and got to business. He showed up at noon, and was done by 8pm. He was happy to make adjustments and modifications I requested weeks after completion (at no additional charge), left my home clean, and really took pride in his work. He was friendly, professional, and stood behind his work 100%. It was truly a pleasure to have Jasper come and turn my loft space vision into a reality that was far better than anything I could have imagined at a great price and on budget. I look forward to using him again for my future projects.

LiveNeighborly’s gardening service is awesome. This is the future of gardening: I get recommendations and photos after every service, can manage my account online and I pay by credit card. I like that they just take care of everything and I don’t need to worry about my yard anymore. Plus, when I do want something special done, it’s super easy to add a task with photos and they take care of it on their next visit. And I’m happy to say that it’s affordable. They are doing an great job so far and definitely recommend them.

It took about 9 hours and I got what I exactly what I wanted. He stayed within my budget too; strong quality materials and professional workmanship on their part-Mr. Limon and his crew.

Jerry did a great job repairing a broken sprinkler pipe in my lawn. He contacted me soon after I posted on Thumbtack, came by and quoted the job, then showed up when he said he would to do the work. The area where the work was done was left clean and the system once again works great. I highly recommend All Season for any type of lawn care or landscaping work.

The Gardenator arrived exactly on-time, listened carefully as we reviewed what we wanted done, made several good suggestions, did all the work plus a few other little things, cleaned-up perfectly, made a few more garden/plant suggestions and left us with a neat, fresh, and agreeably trimmed garden. We'll have him back.

I was impressed with the quality of work that Shaping and Restoring offered me. Anselmo trimmed three of my rounded shape trees perfectly. He also worked on our oak tree, willow trees and planted some beautiful roses in my garden. I didn’t know Anselmo could also help me with my old sprinkles that didn’t work, he replaced my old irrigation system including an old sprinkler timer that I did not know how to use. I was beyond satisfied with the quality of work and great customer service I was provided with. I highly recommend Shaping and restoring.

Hi! I had Johnny Davis over to help me with my garden, he works fast and seeing things with a new eye, and over all the garden looks much better and is much happier. I look forward to his next visit here to help out. I give him a five star rating for sure!!! Johnny knows how to fix things, and is a totally trustworthy person. He keeps his word and arrives on time. His cost is very fair for what he can offer.

I needed ideas to improve my front side yard and Edward came out right away and gave me a very competitive bid to install irrigation to connect to my existing system and put in sod, as well as topping off the bark in all the planter beds in my entire yard. Even better, he was able to start the job very quickly and finished it on time. Edward was super responsive, answered all my questions in person and via text/phone, and even put in some flowering plants (not part of the original job) for just the cost of the bags of planting soil he picked up.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to have landscaping done?

Professional landscaping can help reinvent your outdoor space, boost your curb appeal and get a major return on investment with. Landscaping can encompass anything from adding new plants, trees and shrubs, to leveling the ground and laying sod for a lawn, to building in hardscaping such as sidewalks, water features or retaining walls. The national average landscaping price is $10,160. Landscaping prices can be far lower (with hourly rates ranging from $50 to $150) if you’re only seeking professional help with softscaping or seeking consultation on landscape design. Softscaping means adding or changing horticultural elements, such as planting a garden or adding a hedge. Hardscaping is where costs can really start to rise. Hardscaping requires labor and heavy equipment to excavate the earth; you may need to pour concrete, or you may need a pro who can transport and place gravel and other inorganic elements. Your total landscaping cost will vary based on the amount of work you want done, how much labor is required, and the cost of the materials you are using. A good rule of thumb for a major landscaping project, according to the American Society of Landscape Architects, is to budget 5 percent to 10 percent of the value of your home.

How much does it cost to landscape your front yard?

Prices for landscaping your front yard can range from a few hundred dollars to tens of thousands of dollars, depending on the scale of your front yard project. Your landscaping price will reflect how much change you implement, how much labor is required, and the cost of materials.

Landscaping is typically made up of softscaping and hardscaping. Softscaping refers to selecting trees, bushes, flowers and plants to achieve a desired aesthetic and to meet goals such as having a drought-tolerant yard. Hardscaping refers to moving earth, installing structures, and putting in decorative stonework, sidewalks or lighting. For softscaping, you may want to hire a landscape designer to consult on your plants and layout, and then do the digging and planting yourself or hire a gardner to handle the heavy lifting. A landscape designer’s hourly rate may range from $50 to $150 or more. If you want a turnkey approach, meaning someone who works with you to create the vision and then executes all the work, landscaping pricing will typically come down to a cost per square foot rather than an hourly rate. It’s a solid investment: Great landscaping can add up to 28 percent value to your home.
