FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I do whatever I can do to stay on top of the most current concepts and developments, although it would be a full time job in itself to know all the changes going on in design, web design, web development, UX/UI, responsive design etc etc!
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Show art for Cal Shakes, for upcoming Mike Daisey one man show, "The Great Tragedies: Mike Daisey takes on Shakespeare." I had a very short time (couple of hours) not only to create this but to design it from scratch and it was one of those jobs where everything came together, the concept, the inspiration and the design. One of the things Mike Daisey had written was that he wanted something you would not expect from a show about Shakespeare and I really think I achieved that with a bold and unusual design.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Do you like the feeling you get when you look at work (whatever it is) that a provider has done? Does it suit the purpose? Does it feel balance? Fresh? Practical? The last is important - I've seen many funky designs/websites that just don't work - either they're illegible or they are too complicated to be functional. Good design should, above all, be suited to the purpose it's there for! Be willing to take a risk on someone who may have limited experience in one area, but has great examples of work in a similar field. When someone is trying to move into a new area, that's when you get great deals as a client!
