FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It depends on the shoot but in general I need to charge a certain amount which factors in all the continuing production costs in order to successfully maintain a sustainable photography business. Just some expenses I need to cover which is why I charge a certain amount: studio rent, internet, utilities, business & liablility insurance, camera repair, hard drive storage, cloud storage, web hosting, thumbtack fees, computer equipment, lighting equipment, repair and cleaning supplies. ***I will travel to your location/office for a minimum rate of $500 for one person. If it's a group I of course provide discounts. Otherwise my studio lighting is always set up and ready to go. My studio is conveniently located in the safe, artistic neighborhood of Fishtown which is right off 95. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby. ***
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Greeting them if it's in person, asking what they need the photo for. Depending on their line of work or if it's for a certain audition, I may suggest certain clothing ideas and whatnot. Basically breaking the ice and familiarizing myself with them in order make the process a positive collaboration.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I went to the Art Institute of Boston and graduated with a BFA in Fine Art Photography. I've assisted several photographers since then and ran a studio for an advertising agency before opening my own several years ago.
