I have a historically stubborn 8-year-old cattle dog rescue. She's a wonderful dog, and I wanted to put her through obedience training in order to bring her to my dog-friendly workplace. After just three sessions with Beth, my beloved dog is happy, social with people, and able to walk past other dogs while listening to my command — which is a huge step for her! Beth used behavioral conditioning and positive reinforcement to train not just my dog, but also me as an owner, and I wholeheartedly recommend her to anybody who wants a true "top dog trainer." Thank you Beth — and thanks from Martha! We learned that you CAN teach an old dog new tricks, and my dog is happier for it!
John is an amazing trainer. I would highly recommend him to anyone that is looking for some obedience training for their pups. He is punctual, professional, and passionate about what he does.
Denise is amazing! From the moment we first met, we knew we made the a great choice for our pups. We have two dogs, one is 5 and the other is 9 months. Denise is really hands on in her approach to dog training and we learned so much from our time with her. We are much more confident in teaching our dogs how to behave and they are much happier with the new rules we have set in place. Thanks Denise!!
Ralf is amazing!!! I can't say enough great things about him. What I can say is that whatever is wrong with your dog he can fix! My dog "Buddy" is a Golden Retriever that I adopted from a shelter approximately 3 years ago. Buddy came with so many "issues" that my Vet put him on Prozak. I spent many agonizing hours and a great deal of money trying to help my Buddy. From the "Thunder Shirt" to every kind of obedience training there is - nothing worked UNTIL I FOUND RALF!. Within 30 minutes of the first visit, my Buddy was a changed dog. Ralf imediately identified his problems and knew exactly how to correct them. Buddy & I still have some more learning to do, he is in the process of decreasing the Pozak. But up until now it's been great and I know with Ralf's guidance - Buddy will become a happy and well behaved companion.
In my opinion, you would be hard-pressed to find a more suitable canine behavioral counselor and trainer than Paula Phillips. First of all, let me say that Paula is one of the nicest people that I have had the privilege of getting to know. Right from the start, it was obvious that Paula has the heart, warmth, compassion, patience, sense of ethics, and spirit needed to succeed in her profession. It also became evident that Paula possesses a wealth of knowledge and experience that she so willingly shared with us. I became acquainted with Paula when she worked with my husband and me to train our newly adopted 6 month old puppy. Paula spent many hours showing and teaching us how to incorporate this 7 pound bundle of joy and energy into our lifestyle. She assisted us with potty training, behavior discipline, selecting appropriate toys and chews, stopping excessive barking and playful biting, just to name a few things. She was very thorough when it came to finding out what we needed in order for family and dog to live in harmony. She asked many questions and listened to our concerns before determining the best plan of action for us. After each session, Paula always sent us a follow-up and summary of what we did and what "homework" we needed to do in order to reinforce what we learned at that session. She made herself available by phone, text, and email, to answer any questions or to address concerns. I know that I asked the same questions more than once, but she always responded promptly and cheerfully. Her words of wisdom were always helpful. My puppy adored her and always greeted her as if she was one of the family. Utilizing Paula's knowledge and experience has made my husband and I feel more responsible and competent in raising a puppy. If someone needs any type of assistance or advice when it comes to canine behavior and training, do not hesitate to contact Paula Phillips. She is an asset to her profession, but more importantly, she is a terrific human being!
My dog Sawyer had been through basic obedience training with a different trainer but still had some behavioral issues that were causing issues and had not been addressed in his previous training. Mark took the time to talk to me and really get to know my dog. He set up a plan for us that is really tailored to Sawyer and in the two weeks we have been working with Mark, I have already seen a huge improvement! Mark really cares about the dogs he is training and wants to see them succeed and I appreciate that! I can't wait to see Sawyer go from a good dog to a great dog and I would recommend Golden Valley K9 Solutions to anyone who is looking for the same experience with their dog!
Erika is my go-to person for dog training and dog sitting! I have two rescue dogs, both adopted at the age of two with no training. Needless to say I needed help badly! Now my pups sit and wait to go in and out of doors, and they will do most anything for a treat. It's also nice to be able to go out of town and not have to worry about my fur babies! She's the only one I trust with them (and also to stay at my home with them), and she sends me plenty of updates while I'm gone.
Working with Mel has been fantastic. She is a terrific trainer. She's patient and teaches training techniques in an accessible way that's easy for an inexperienced dog owner to understand and implement. Working with her has given me a lot of confidence with my dog. I would recommend her to anyone who's looking for one on one positive dog training.

We are very excited to get going on training our dog with Dave. He came to our house on Saturday, and spent over an hour discussing our dogs needs, and Dave's philosophy on training. (Free consultation) We were very impressed, and feel that he will be a great fit for our family.
We have had an a wonderful experience with Wendy Brookhyser and her team. Our dog was almost 4 years old when we brought him to the facility. We were having issues with aggression towards other dogs and an extremely hard time walking him with a leash. We had dog trainers come to our home and try and help us, but nothing seemed to work or stick for very long. Our good friend told us about Wendy and we decided to give her a try. This was our last attempt to try and help our sweet Aussie before adopting him to another family. Our Chuck did such a fantastic job with Wendy and her staff. When we picked him up, our whole family was pleased with how well he listened to us and walked with us. Our children use to not be able to walk him without a parent because he would dash after other dogs or people on bikes. Now even my 10 year old can walk him. I was reluctant to send my dog away. I had heard stories where the dog came back with a wounded or broken spirit. Chuck came back to us with the same fun loving spirit he had when we dropped him off. If I could do all over again, I wouldn't hesitate this time! The best part about this facility is that they not only train the dog, they train the family. We were instructed to watch a training video at least 8 times before we picked him up. We were told this DVD would help us prepare for our dog's arrival back into our home. The videos helped us learn the commands our dog would be learning at the facility. It has been a life saver! We still watch it once a week to brush up on our skills. They also provide Friday Train Day where they come to your home and pick up your dog for the day. We have taken advantage of this to help give our dog more consistency while we are still improving our skills with him. Chuck is so excited every Friday when he sees Wendy or a staff member. I would and do recommend Wendy to all of my friends that are struggling with obedience. They also provide boarding services. We are so happy with Wendy and her team and will continue to help us if and when we should need it.
David is a great trainer. He has helped us tremendously with our Pitbull Shiloh. He was reactive towards other dogs and we just couldn't take him anywhere. We were looking for a long term trainer we can rely on and David has definitely been reliable. We did his behavior modification then his basic obedience and his advanced obedience. Shiloh can now walk nicely on his leash around other dogs even in stores!
We have a high spirited English Cream Retriever that had been neglected because of busy schedules and such. Emily was our trainer. She worked miracles with our pup. It was important to me for my children to be part of the training. Emily was so good with them, explained why things were done a certain way and very patient with us all. You can tell that this work is a true passion for her and it shows in her dedication.
Allison was very patient with our dog and made sure he improved his fear and anxiety so he could train with the other dogs. Great dog home away from home.
Audrey scheduled us right away for a consultation to help with our food aggressive dog. Within one week using her training and tips any family member can pull our dogs food away with out getting biten or even a growl. Our German Shepard will now wait patiently in a calm "sit" position till we put his food back for him. Looking forward to more training!
Maggie was my trainer in SF until she broke my heart and relocated to San Diego. I really enjoyed our time together as she incorporated things I like to do (Pilates, strength training) into my routine while making sure I never got bored. She also made me do things I don't like (running, stairs) to make sure that my workout was well rounded. I also had never worked out outside before (and didn't think I would like it) and found out that it could be very enjoyable.
Paul at K9city was amazing. Very honest, professional and caring. He has helped us so much with our dogs behavior problems. Still a work in progress but Paul continues to check in with us, gives us feedback and suggestions and supports us in any way he can. Paul and K9city have been a lifesaver for our family and our dog, we can not thank him enough!!
I’ve avoided hiring a local dog trainer or taking my dog to obedience school because of time and expense. When I learned I could get a 30 minute consultation for just $25, I figured I had nothing to lose. The phone call went far beyond my expectations—Heidi was so helpful. She quickly assessed my dog’s primary behavior patterns based on his breed (hound/terrier/shepherd mix) and suggested types of agility training he would respond to. Then she laid out 3 simple obedience lessons we could work on as a basis for further training. Her advice was simple, clear, and based solely on positive reinforcement. She recommended books to read and types of treats and treat bags to use—I have a full page of notes and am excited to get started. The consultation is SUCH a great value, and Heidi’s friendly, non-judgmental professionalism was exactly what I needed to feel confident that my dog and I will make progress.
