Hogan was great, very smart and knowledgeable. He got me through my divorce, I was able to keep a lot of property and got me 50% custody of my kids. After calling around, his fees were the most reasonable. He came highly recommended and at the end of the day, I didn't lose my shirt through my ugly divorce.May 19, 2017
I hired Hogan for my divorce after interviewing several other attorneys and I am so glad I did. He helped me finish my divorce within my budget and better yet, he was smart as a whip. He caught several issues that didn't even occur to me or the other side, several times through the case. I am glad its over and I can move on with my life. My kids, my business, and my wallet can't thank him enough.Aug 11, 2017
I consulted Hogan Song in some custody support issues. He was very knowledgeable in the area of divorce and custody support. His guidance and direction helped me greatly, even beyond what I expected. His rate was very affordable and can't believe he only charged me what he did. For any future issues that come up (I'm sure there will be more), I'll be sure to contact Hogan.Jul 17, 2017
Really disappointed at the information provided at the consultation. Felt like he was just trying to get as much money as possible from me and wasn't trying to come up with solutions or the best way for my case to progress.Feb 23, 2018VerifiedSong Family Law's reply
Dear Jessica, As an attorney who regularly discounts fees (especially for veterans), volunteers for pro bono organizations, has an hourly rate that is one of the lowest for my level of experience and success, has never had a complaint about my billing practices and has never sued a client for unpaid fees, I’m very sorry you were disappointed with my quote. But, I have to say that you are misrepresenting me by saying I provided you consultation. I did not provide you a consultation, nor was I trying to get as much money from you as possible. Our whole exchange occurred through the Thumbtack messaging system and we did not talk or meet. Rather, I provided a flat fee quote through the Thumbtack system and messaged you two times, very specifically, that “others do it for less.” I also did not try to talk you into hiring me—I didn’t try to “sell” or “close” you. Frankly, I’m not very good at that. But, you were adamant that your “simple” divorce would take me “literally 20 minutes to prepare” and I tried to explain why I thought you were incorrect. I disagreed with your estimate and estimated a flat fee based on how much time a typical uncontested divorce takes and my hourly rate. Perhaps, my estimate was higher than it should have been, but without an actual consultation and interview of the complete picture it is impossible for me to tell. For example, we did not communicate about debts and protective measures that are usually recommended. Providing flat fees for legal services is a difficult process to get right, as any attorney who’s been practicing for a while will tell you. An attorney can end up working for far less than his hourly rate, unless the majority of the work is done by non-attorney support staff. And, at the same time there are rules that prohibit attorneys from keeping unearned fees. If a particular project takes less time than estimated, I am ethically bound to return unearned fees, which I do. This is why even on flat fee cases I keep track of my time. But, you really didn’t give me a chance to explain all that. You only wanted to argue with me and prove that it would only take 20 minutes to complete. On a final note, you stated that you found someone who can handle your divorce for half of what I quoted, but at the same time you said you were a law student and pointed very quickly to information that makes me think you are able to complete your divorce on your own. And, you did not hire anyone on Thumbtack but misrepresented that you hired me so you could post a review. So, I’m not sure if you truly are looking for an attorney or merely work for another firm/company, you seem to know your way around the required forms, but if you really are looking to hire an attorney perhaps you should save even more money by completing the process yourself. I’m pretty sure it will take you more than 20 minutes, though.
Family Law Attorney
While I have only just started with Hogan, he has been very responsive to my emails, he was very personable, yet very professional on our first meeting, he quickly gave his opinion on my case and was very straight forward about the facts of my case and my position. I immediately felt more at ease and confident about my situation. I look forward to working with Song Family Law, and winning my case.Dec 13, 2017Verified

While I loved my time as an Aggie, I am also an alumnus of the University of Southern California graduating with two degrees - one in English and one in Political Science. But seeing the need for a better approach, I devoted himself to providing quality family law representation at affordable prices.
