About this pro
We contacted Thumbtack because we had purchased new appliances for our kitchen and needed two cabinets altered to allow space for the dishwasher and over-the-stove microwave. Marc Carrillo responded to our request, looked at the job, and we agreed to his hourly rate. In our discussions with him while he was altering the cabinets, we realized the extent of his knowledge and decided to have him update the countertop, linoleum, sink, and install all of the new appliances. We also asked him to replace the old bathroom tub faucets and shower head, and to re-install our tub/shower doors (which we had done incorrectly). Our duplex was built in the 50s, so there were some challenges with remodeling; Marc was familiar with the problems of older houses and knew exactly what he needed to do. Marc was extremely helpful with suggestions of the types of materials to use that were within our budget, and with a color scheme that would match the rest of the kitchen that was not being updated. We are very happy with Marc’s work, and our updated kitchen is beautiful. Marc has an extensive inventory of tools, including many types of power tools, and he did everything himself: electrical, plumbing, hand cutting and laying tile, and making trim to fit some very awkward spaces. We will definitely contact Marc at Tight Lines Construction for our next project.May 26, 2018Verified

I loved that he got in touch with us right away! We had an urgent problem with a brick arch that was collapsing. He was booked and busy, but made sure the urgent issue was addressed and will help us resolve the non-urgent problems in due time. This was very fine with us. Thank you Marc!!Aug 11, 2016Verified
I hired Marc to fix a frameless glass shower door that had slipped over time. This is a very heavy glass door that was very difficult for me to fix on my own. I tried and failed. Then I called Marc. He got in touch with me promptly and quoted me for one hour of work ($80) to fix the door. It actually took him a little longer, so he asked for $120, which I thought was fair, considering my door is larger than average and harder to fix. He worked hard, was knowledgable, and personable. $80/hour is a bit steep, but I'd probably still hire Marc for future handy work around the house. I recommend you give him a call if you need something fixed.Aug 11, 2016Verified
