George did a great job on our block wall. He arrived when expected and provided us with quality work and the work was completed on time and with the quality we expected.
All of the above and more. Such a wonderful Company and crew! My apologies to Olivas for this long overdue review. I had some Eldorado Brick Veneer installed on an interior and exterior wall by Olivas Masonry back in February 2018. My husband was too busy to do the work and agreed to hire it out. I contacted two contractors recommended by RCP in Temecula. One was a no show and the other contractor priced the project way over anything reasonable or affordable. I then decided to try out Thumback and submitted an email through them and immediately received a call from Gina Olivas. Gina come by the house to meet with me to discuss the project, took measurements, and provided a quote within a few days. I really enjoyed meeting with Gina and liked her professionalism and honesty. The quote was very reasonable and affordable, so I made a decision to have Olivas do the project. It was by far the best decision ever! They became like family and I actually missed them after the job was done. I've had several projects hired out and I've never been so happy and satisfied as I have with this project. This crew rocks! They are very professional, always on-time, very courteous, accommodating and so cooperative. My husband and I are very picky and we are so pleased with how professional and amazing the walls look. I highly recommend Olivas for any of your stone work. You won't regret it. Thanks again Olivas and should I have additional stone work I will definitely contact you.
I was very pleased with the work Stephen and his team had done for my house. There were some broken roof tiles, and water was leaking in the garage. Stephen explained replacing the tiles would not prevent from water leaking again, because he found there were thick layers of debris from the pine tree. Without cleaning the valleys, the water will not run down the roof. Also, some windows needed to be sealed correctly. Bottom line, I feel he was really looking out for me to make sure the repair was not temporary. His price was very reasonable. He ended up doing a lot more work such as trimming the tree, pressured washing the roof, painting one corner of the wall near the window. Plus, he did not charge me more than he originally quoted. The other quotes I obtained from other contractors for just replacing the broken tiles were not much less. I highly recommend Mr. Fixit. I will hire him again for future repair/maintenance in a heartbeat.
Jordan as a person was very nice. His inital follow up was prompt and he spoke very highly of his attention to detail. As a first time homeowner, I know little about construction and heavily rely on the expert knowledge of others to assist with our remodel. We hired Jordan after meeting three other contractors based solely on our interaction with him. When we originally had Jordan out to our house it was for a flooring quote only. Jordan explained he also preformed landscaping work on the side so we added that to our list. Jordan did an amazing job installing the floors! The entire dynamic of the house changed because of the floors. I was very disappointed in a few other areas which is the reason for 4 stars. We do not currently live in the house although we do have a few items in place for weekend visits. Towards the end of the job Jordan said that they were mostly finished so I had gone to check out the progress. The tile work in both bathrooms is crooked. The master bath is very noticeable. In addition, my bedding was covered in dust and they had smeared grout into the carpet in my bedroom. There was also sloppy grouting and caulking done in several areas of my home. To add insult to injury his crew decided it was ok to help themselves to my kids popcicles - this actually upset me just asuch as the tile floor. Giving credit where it is due: Jordan and Tim did have my carpets cleaned, my bedding dry cleaned and I was given the option to have them rip up the bathroom floor or receive a discount from my final bill. Jordan did offer to replace the missing popcicles as well although that never did happen. The landscape looks nice as well but we asked to keep the remaining turf and that also didn't happen. I asked jordan about it and he said what was salvageable was in our shed - it wasnt. Again, I was very happy with the floors but the other items make it hard to say if I would rehire for additional projects. Nice guy but I didn't feel like our home was cared for in the way he said it would be. If you do decide to hire Jordan my recommendations would be: 1. Get a detailed breakdown of the work 2. Notate about the use of your personal items (they completely filled up both our garbage cans) 3. Inspect. Inspect. Inspect. Check every corner.
Martin and Cody did a fabulous job. He gave us great design ideas and we chose what worked for us. He did a dry riverbed ending in a pond with a dip system for the many plants and tree. We also did a walkway from my from door to the curb, widened the driveway and a small patio in the backyard. My neighbors are getting whiplash driving by its so beautiful.
On time, respectful & excellent work product. Clean up was like they were never there. If I had to find an error, there was some minor paint runs onto the walls. I wouldn't doubt that they would touch that up if I had some touch-up paint. Even did some things I didn't ask for.
We wanted to get crown molding installed along with a trayed ceiling. Although none of the contractors knew exactly what we wanted, Frank worked with us to turn the image in our mind into reality. He got the job because, as a general contractor, he has the skill, manpower and equipment available to do multiple jobs like electrical work and cabinet work (our job also involved drywall and painting work). So, although the project started as a simple crown molding job, we got a lot of other things taken care of. Franks and his crew was very friendly and professional. They were very responsive to our requests and worked to make us happy. For example, we wanted to have Plexiglas installed in a cabinet door. After he did this (in his shop) he didn't think that we would like the result, so he installed a dark glass panel instead. We were very pleased with the result. In fact, we were so pleased that we are hiring them again for another job. I highly recommend Ruiz Construction Co.
Excellent work, reasonable pricing. Would highly recommend to anyone needing work done at home. I had a wall removed, electrical outlets relocated, and drywall repairs done all in a timely manner. Big plus for willing to work with my tight schedule. Thank you!!
We hired Keith to put a new roof on my mom's house and replace her old wood fence for a chain link fence. Keith was professional, prompt and did a great job on both projects. We were very pleased on how everything looked from his proposal, cleanup, his crew and final result.
Dennis and his crew did an outstanding job. They had to deal with very deep roots from the neighbor's oak tree and worked tirelessly to chop out what they could before removing our old sod. They extended a retaining wall in the front side yard and put concrete next to it and extended it into the back yard along with a pad so we could put a shed for storage. Great work, I highly recommend Dennis's company.
After a phone chat, I sent Mr. Duin an e-mail outlining the projects I had in mind. I asked him to help me select those that fit into my quarterly budgets. Together we selected three that needed attention this winter. 1. stabilize a wobbly 6 foot block (gate) wall that was inches from a gas main, 2. Build a short block wall that would hold back dirt from a muddy embankment, 3. Reinforce a swaying wood fence and wrap metal posts with cedar – box style. Mr. Duin and staff did an outstanding job of listening to my needs. I was impressed with their work, quality of materials, work ethics and attention to detail. They were very pleasant to work with and I look forward to our next round of projects. I hope to include the trim/molding (with up lighting) along the ceiling of my front porch which will have to wait until early Spring – due to budget considerations.

I have been doing cement work for 20 years. I build cement molds for pots and Italian type of handrails. I also build retaining walls, work with tile, and repair patios. I am working towards becoming an all-around handyman with a preference for block and cement. Two things that make my business great is that I am project focused and take the time to talk to you about the project if you prefer. I can quickly finish your project on my own or with trusted assistants. I take pride in my work, and I have very high standards and quality controls. Valley Center is my home near the high school, and your recommendations means a lot to me in Pauma and the Valley Center community. I have recommendations in this community if you prefer to check out. I can give you ideas on how to work on your entrance with block or rocks in hand drawings or just on-site.
We were fortunate enough to find Kevin Farmer to replace all the carpets in our home with concrete. All the other contractors we spoke to told us that concrete could not be placed over wood on second floors. Kevin did the research to find a new product and learn the process. The result was spectacular. He stained the floors to have an old world look that is consistent with the Tuscan style of the house. He gave us a very fair price, was a pleasure to work with and exceeded our expectations. We are very happy to know a contractor who we would trust with any job.
Ryan at Concrete Pros finished a concrete job at our house in one day. The communication was always prompt and courteous. He stayed true to his original quote, and his price was reasonable for industry standards. The job was done professionally with great attention paid to the pipes, drains, and sprinklers. He even helped to shape the outcome in a way that looked better than our original plan. We are very happy with this company and plan to use them for our other San Diego properties.
