I advise someone looking to hire an attorney to consult several attorneys. Look them up on the state bar website to see if there has been any complaints against them. Talk to friends and family who may recommend a lawyer. This is a big decision and you need to make sure that you like your attorney and are on the same page. And above all, ask them to guarantee that they will be personally involved in your case and not farm you out to other attorneys for a fee.
