My experience with Lois is a positive one. She has helped me improve my communication in English which is my second language. I learned a lot from exchanges we had during our meetings.

My grandson spend 6 months in Parma and wanted to keep up his Italian; I studied Italian many years ago and together we enjoy Antonio's style of teaching us vocabulary, reading and grammatical details. - He prepairs our lessons well and keeps things interesting; he is very good teacher.

Being a former teacher of English as a second language, I can be a little critical, I've tried a few private Spanish teachers in LA before Pablo and they were all too business and writing oriented for me, they taught the way you learn languages in school. Pablo, on the other hand, understands that there is a difference between language teaching and school teaching. He is fantastic, interactive, and understands how to teach his students how to speak Spanish, not just read and write. He's absolutely exceptional!

I have been learning Korean for over a year with another private tutor before Suebeet. While my previous tutor helped lay the foundation for my Korean language skills, Suebeet has really brought out a new level of speaking from me that I had not anticipated being able to accomplish. She has a really good way of explaining things. She makes sure to explain both fundamental learning as well as modern abbreviations and slang so that when we speak to Korean speakers our age, we won't sound out of date or weird. :) I hope to continue taking classes with Suebeet. :)

Very good at what she does. I learned a great deal in the few lessons that I had. It is unfortunate that my schedule is pretty grueling with 3 little ones. I will seek her expertise once I get a better handle on balancing my toddlers and time for myself!

Nuria Fortier was my Spanish teacher for fall 2014 through the International Language School for Children and Adults. I am an adult, beginner level spanish language student with some previous beginner coursework. Our Saturday morning one-hour classes are held at Pitzer College and ran from September through December into January. I am very impressed with Nuria's language instruction. She meets the students where he/she is in their learning, yet also helps you to challenge yourself (for example speaking as much as possible in Spanish during lesson). She stresses the importance of grammar and verb conjugation structures within conversational Spanish lesson. She constructs lessons so that we come into contact with verbs and then we address the conjugation. She recommended two very good books for beginner level that we use during the lesson, and also introduces fun story reading (at children's level which is actually very good for beginner adult learner). Nuria is very professional and reliable, and encouraging for an adult language learner! Nothing negative to report. Nuria has also created a local Spanish speaking group of current and former students who meet to practice Spanish and I am looking forward to joining this group. Thank you Nuria! I recommend ILSCA and Nuria Fortier for Spanish language. Her Children's programs are also very well attended.

Ray has been tutoring my daughter for over 3 months now and we have seen a great improvement in her math grade. I had tried three tutors before I found Ray and I am so thankful that we did. I explained to him that my daughter was having a difficult time in her Algebra class and that I was having a hard time explaining it, as it is the new common core method. I mentioned to him that my daughter is very shy and I wasn't sure he would get her to talk much but to my surprise, he really has done a great job in getting her to talk through each math problem. He engages my daughter and encourages questions especially when he suspects she isn't really sure on a particular math problem. I can't give enough praise to Ray; he is always on time and gets right to work, he never leaves unless he's sure my daughter understands the math lesson. My family and I are very pleased with the progress my daughter has made and we would highly recommend Ray to any parent that needs a math tutor.

I spent a lot of time looking for tutors for my 2 daughters and it was hard to find someone who could help 2 kids in one day. One of my daughters is ADHD and the other is behind in school. He also explained to me what my ADHD child should eat and shouldn't eat to balance and to help her focus. He is very knowledgeable with the topics he teaches and spends extra time as needed to make sure my children understood and tries to finished up homework. He is caring and very patient. Very good tutor.

Monique has been tutoring my daughter in French for almost a year now. She has been a godsend. Emily was close to failing French and now has improved in every aspect of her studies. Her quiz/test scores have gone up as well as her grade in French. Monique is very encouraging to my daughter in speaking and reading the language -- working with her on these aspects as well as studying for her quizzes and tests. Monique is very organized and knows what she would like to see for my daughter. She is always on time to our tutoring sessions and very flexible in scheduling time to see us. We will continue to call on Monique to tutor my daughter probably throughout her high school years. Thank you, Monique, for a job well done.

Marcelo is a native Spanish speaker, has lived in Pasadena for many years, and was an architect before he retired. He is a very pleasant person, and very easy to talk to. He is very flexible and non-dogmatic in his approach to teaching Spanish, and adapts his teaching style to his students' preferences. In our sessions we work through a Spanish language text book and do reading, writing and speaking exercises. As I have become more proficient, our lessons have focused more on conversation, which I enjoy. Among other things, Marcelo is an interesting person with a wealth of experiences, and conversations with him are always interesting. While not fluent, I have gotten to the point where I feel relatively confident in carrying on a basic conversation. Marcel is completely reliable...he never misses a scheduled session, and he is extremely punctual.

Jude is incredibly kind. I have been trying to learn Spanish on Duolingo for years and I really only came out with some good vocab. Judy offers a learning situation you cannot receive from any app- real life conversation, immediate correction and guidance, and the patience to work with you until you have it down. Seeking out Jude was the BEST thing I’ve ever done for my Spanish education, communicating and practicing with a real Spanish speaking person. There’s no better way to learn a language except for immersion. You’ll leave jude feeling like you just stepped out of Mexico!
