Shawn and Katie are not dance instructors, they are miracle workers. They were patient, enthusiastic, flexible, and had tons of adaptability to my learning needs. I look forward to scheduling future dance lessons with them.

Mark was an amazing teacher with great energy! I hired Mark for a Salsa lesson for my birthday party. Mark was amazing, being able to teach the people in my small group who some never danced Salsa, some have danced casually in their own Latin country, and some who have taken basic lessons before. He was able to help the beginners while still being able to challenge the ones who were more familiar. Mark's energy, patience, and professionalism is what made my party. I would recommend him to anyone and everyone.

Jared is a fantastic dance teacher. I've taken salsa lessons with him. The thing that stands out for me is his ability to communicate the specific things you need to work on in a way that makes sense and that you can understand and begin practicing immediately.

What a great dance teacher! I am so happy that I found Kathy Levyn. She is amazing. I have had several private lessons and am learning so much. She has so many ways to teach that make it easy and fun. She has a wonderful personality. The best part is I'm gaining more confidence. If you need a dance teacher, I'd highly recommend her. She got me to dance and I'm going to my first ballroom dance to test it out! I also went to a practice dance and I survived! I love it. I plan on being with Kathy for a long time. I love that she has flexible hours, her prices are very reasonable, she is fun to dance with, and is a very nice person. You will learn so much, have fun, and it is great exercise.

We had such a great time learning to dance with Amy! She is so passionate , creative and patient. She gave us the gift of being able to dance together . She choreographed our first dance, taught us how to salsa and cha cha , and provided important rhythmic structure and movement for our father-daughter/ mother -son dance . She did such a great job of breaking down each movement and providing quick adjustments. We always felt like we grew so much from each lesson. I would highly recommend her to anyone with any dance level. She made our first dance so special!!! We can't thank her enough for all of help and coaching . Thank you! Alex & Shayna

I have been taking private ballet lessons with Cleo for almost a year now. My technique has improved tremendously in the time I have worked with her! Cleo is patient and kind, and her attention to detail (the arch of your foot, how your wrist is positioned, the tilt of the head) has helped me grow as a dancer. I would highly recommend her to anyone!

Rebecca was my private Yoga teacher for about one year in Berlin/ Germany. Yoga is for me part of my daily life . With her as a teacher in classes three to four times a week I improved my knowledge and my ability doing yoga very much. Rebecca is an outstanding yoga teacher, very accurate, very sensitive in terms of my abilities and on top a very nice person. I miss her classes very much.

Artemi is an excellent dance teacher/coach. He takes the time to listen to his student's needs and goals. From that he bases his lesson plans. His private and group lessons are taught in segments and build on those segments so a beginner or advanced student can learn and grow. As a professional dancer, he has the knowledge and talent to work with his students on proper technique, physical strength, choreography, musicality and much more. He does this in a caring, supportive and fun way. But he also can be strict especially if preparing a student for a showcase or competition. Artemi is trained in American and International Latin and Ballroom dances. He also performs and competes proefssional with his partner pro dancer Erica Arnold. This helps him keep on top of his profession to then share with his students. I have grown as a person and dancer because of Artemi. He has helped me physically and mentally in my life. I look forward to my lessons whether it is to focus on technique, strengthen my core and/or just dance. As such, I would highly recommend Artemi Okunev.

I have had privates with Cherise for a few years now, she teaches me a combo of flow and yin which is great because I get to sweat a little and also work on my flexibility. Our classes have built in difficulty as I've gotten better and I love the music she plays.

I have been dancing for many years. When I came to Steppin Out, I was pleasantly surprised by everyone greeting me, and making an effort to make me feel comfortable, which has not been my experience in other dance franchise ballrooms. During my lessons, I was amazed that my instructor was giving me so much information regarding "technique". Dancing with him is exactly like having a private lesson with a professional coach. Attention to detail, and the absolute best place to learn to dance competitive ballroom dance, as well as social dancing as well. Both of the owners, are dedicated to their love of dance and teaching it to others. I not only feel like a student, but a family member as well. Very humble couple. I LOVE Steppin' Out!

We have been taking dance lessons, both private and group, with Edelweiss Studio for some years. It is a marvelous studio run by fabulous dancers, Alla and Alex Novikov. And they are also extraordinary teachers. They know what you can do and how to get you to do it and meanwhile making it enjoyable, fun and exciting. It doesn't matter if you are competing or just dancing socially , they know how to teach you, build your confidence and make you look incredibly good. There are also many wonderful activities and a myriad of events run by the studio. It is like family to be part of Edelweiss. We couldn't ask for a better dance studio or nicer people. How lucky we are!

About

I have had the honor of being a professional dancer for over 10 years in the industry, working and traveling for artists, commercials, film and television and have trained with the best around the world. I have also shaped artists who've needed movement coaching to guide their performances. As a dance developer, my skills can either help someone train or simply provide a way for someone to feel more confident about themselves. Dance can be fun as well as a great workout, and that is what I love to create with clients. I teach children, adults, and artists and do either private or group session. Depending on the clients' needs, I teach anything from hip-hop, jazz, modern, jazz funk, and burlesque/heels to artist development and fitness.

About

Hello! Bonjour! Guten tag! Grezi! Hola! Goeden daag! "I had French in high school, but I only remember 'Voulez vous couchez avec moi?!'"; "I used to take German classes, but we just studied grammar."; "How am I supposed to know how to speak, if we never spoke German in class?"; and "I once took a Spanish class, but it was way too hard for me. I am just not a 'language' person. These are the sentences I have heard the most from people who were trying to learn a new language. Yes, it is hard to learn a new language with only boring school books and grammar. Learning a language should be something you enjoy doing without having to learn 300 words by heart that you don't even know how to use in a sentence. Here is another thing -- there is not only one method to learning a new language. Everybody learns differently and that is why, as a teacher, it is important to find out how your student learns the best. Have you ever thought about combining your hobby with learning a language? Do you like to dance, draw or watch movies? Believe it or not, there are so many ways to combine your favorite hobby with learning a foreign language, making it much easier and more fun to learn, and I am here to help you find the most efficient and fun way to learn the language of your choice! If this sounds interesting, then please tell me a little bit about yourself, and I can figure out the best way for you to learn your target language. I mainly teach English, Spanish, French, German and Swiss German, through reading, writing and/or communicating. I can also help you with ESL/ESOL training. We can do Skype sessions to save time for those who are very busy. Lastly, I teach salsa dancing in any of these languages as well! Teaching Experience I have taught 3rd through 9th grades in various cities throughout Switzerland and privately tutored people of many ages/levels in NYC over the past 2 years. I also have several years of leadership experience, and I love finding new ways to make learning fun. Rates The rates vary from 40 to 50 dollars per hour, depending on what you would like to learn. There are group discounts and other packages available too; so just ask, and we can work within your budget! Please do not hesitate to e-mail me with any questions, or if you just want to chat, then I will get back to you ASAP. Thank you! Anja
