My review is for Jessie. She has been an incredible trainer to work out with. She's knowledagble, dedicated and truly cares about the health, wellness and fitness of her clients. She also has the unique ability to train people with limited resources (e.g. my gym doesn't have all the equipment a full gym would have). Additionally, her flexibility makes it really easy to work out with her, given my constantly changing schedule. Overall, Jessie has been a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend her!

Evan set me up with Jackie after an initial meeting where we discussed what I'm looking for in a trainer. I've been really impressed with how carefully everyone at Custom Fitness monitors each individual's progress, goals, and health. Jackie makes sure my muscles are properly warmed up before we start adding in heavier weights or movements that require greater flexibility. If I'm not feeling anything in the correct muscle group or if I'm in pain at all, Jackie is quick to offer adjustments and alternate exercises. The priority for everyone at Custom Fit is clearly general health and wellness. They want everyone to meet their goals safely and to understand why it's important to maintain core strength and proper nutrition to get to where you want to be. I'm very excited about continuing my work with them over the next few months.

He's more than just a personal trainer - he's a life and health coach as well. I know if I have any questions about health or what I should be eating, I can always send him a note, and he'll respond. Sandra is an incredible personal trainer. I have been training with her for a month now and I am already noticing improved stamina, better form, motivated to workout. She tries to achieve a great balance of maximizing results without causing injury. She focusses a lot on delivering proper form. Sandra understands exactly what I need to do and provides me with tailor-made exercises that fit my level -they are not easy, because they shouldn't be. Each exercise challenges my limit and makes me feel proud! She ensures that workouts target areas that are important for good general health (i.e., legs, back, core). Overall great person, great attitude, a very knowledgeable trainer. Would highly recommend her.

I've worked with Justin from the Kula Team for personal training for the past six months. The dedication and passion he has for health and fitness is evident. From day one he works with you on a plan to achieve your goals. He incorporates fitness, diet and recovery into his plans to make sure you get results! He continually changes up the fitness routines to make sure your fitness levels keep improving. Each month we set a focus, a goal and reflect on the past month. Ive seen trainers in the past who very passively watch their clients. Justin is very involved making sure you have proper form and are being challenged. His feedback is effective and well-researched. When I had some issues with shoulder tightness I came in the next day and he was ready with some stretches and techniques to help target that! The Kula Team also has an amazing meal prep plan to get you started or to help you continue on the right path to health. Their bowls and snacks are tasty, varied and affordable! I highly recommend checking out Kula Wellness!

A little information about me. I've been overweight most of my life and have tried countless programs to lose weight and to regain my health. One thing I had never tried was personal training. In December 2016, I found Scott Meade through Thumbtack. Scott was the first Personal Trainer to respond to my inquiry. I felt an immediate connection with him. He invited me to meet him at the gym on a Sunday. He wanted to give me a tour of the gym and for us to have a casual chat. As an obese female, I was extremely nervous to meet him. He made me feel at ease and I appreciated the time he spent with me talking about his passions; exercise and nutrition. I sensed how genuine he was. His excitement is what jumpstarted my excitement to begin this journey with him. I started training with Scott on January 2nd. Here are just a few reasons why I need Scott besides me on this journey: 1) The guy knows his stuff. Not only is he physically fit, but he's also smart. He stays current in his field and never hesitates to share new information to help develop my knowledge. He doesn't just tell me what to do, he provides reasoning and teaches me along the way. 2) He believes in me more than I believe in myself. He never allows my mental blocks to stop me from doing my best. He's positive and encourages me to tap into my positive spirit. Not always easy. 3) He's responsive and organized. He stays on top of my nutrition and provides feedback on what I'm doing well and what I need to change. He doesn't sugar coat things because that's not how we achieve results. Totally makes sense. 4) He's creative with his workouts and thinks outside of the box. Workouts are never repetitious which helps keep me dialed in. I like the variety he incorporates in my plan. 5) When I'm in the gym with him, it's about ME. I could go on and on about Scott. If you're looking for a Personal Trainer, reach out and meet him. You won't regret it. Meeting Scott was one of the best things that happened to me.

Man, where do I begin. Since day one Dante has always followed through on his promises. His words were, "in two weeks you will feel it, it four weeks you will see it, and in six weeks you will hear it!" When I heard someone tell me that I'd lost weight, that's when u knew I had invested in myself! I've been working out for years on my own, since I played football in high school actually. I know a lot, but Dante showed me a new world of fitness, and a whole new way of life in the gym. His workouts never repeat, and his exercises are his own. He's definitely a coach and a motivator. He pushes you! That's exactly what I needed. A push! I would never push myself the way he pushes me. I highly recommend him as you're coach.

Hiring Gretchen was one of the best moves I made for losing weight. I had spent many years crash dieting, eating low calorie diets in an attempt to lose weight, only to gain it back quickly and pack even more pounds. She quickly detailed a meal plan for me to adhere to that was nutritious and filling, also giving me details on how to deal with eating at restaurants. Yes, it will be work on your end to measure and cook, but it's made my life easier not having to think about what I need to eat. My main battle with eating has always been mental and Gretchen really was there to coach me through my toughest moments of where I just wanted to give up ( Meal planning through the holidays was tough!) The weekly checkins were what I needed to get through this process knowing that I had someone that I had to report to (Makes me less tempted to eat unhealthy.) If you need a coach that will help set up a healthy sustainable lifestyle for you, I recommend Gretchen.

I was down on my luck and was pretty discouraged a few months ago before meeting Dr. Colgin. I did everything I felt like I was supposed to do to look and feel better. I lost 30 lbs for my wedding but then have started gaining some of it back again after changing jobs and relocating. I had a visit with my PCP, explaining to her my energy level was low but I’ve kept myself on a pretty strict diet and exercise regimen. She was pretty understanding and ordered some labs suspecting it may be either my thyroid levels and/or mental health issue. With all that was said and done, my cholesterol level was high and all my doctor told me was to watch what I eat and consider being more active. I was livid. I sought a 2nd opinion and found Dr. Colgin on Yelp and decided to give it a try. My main objective was to feel and sleep better. After meeting with Dr. Colgin and getting a comprehensive lab test done, he insisted there was nothing wrong with me. We decided together that the 4-week detox/cleanse program combined with some homeopathic drops and supplements will get me back on track. Four weeks later, here I am feeling great! I am sleeping through the entire night and not feeling as tired at all during the work day. I no longer require morning coffee. Overall throughout this entire process, I learned a lot about my body and its relationship with food. I am more mindful and I look forward to keep at it. An added plus – Dr. Colgin always made himself available to answer any questions and offer words of motivation when needed. Thanks so much for everything Dr. Colgin!

I felt at ease with Judy from the moment I met her. She always has a smile on her face and really takes the time to get to know you as she works with you. I was really struggling with some personal problems when I started working with Judy and I am truly a different person now a year later. It can often be scary to seek help or go talk to someone, but Judy made the experience a pleasant one and I highly recommend her if you're looking for a life coach. Ron is an awesome trainer and great guy! He challenges you without being intimidating and is actually interested in getting to know you and your needs, then adapting his training plan very specifically to you. He was consistently switching up my workouts to give me variety, as that was one of my main reasons for deciding to invest in personal training. Ron also made it a point to fit me into his schedule, even coming in on his days off to make sure I was able to get my workouts in. How much does a nutritionist cost?

Nutritionists can help people learn to follow special diets in a healthy way, such as becoming vegetarian or vegan or developing a low-sodium or gluten-free eating plan. Are nutritionists covered by health insurance?

People also meet with nutritionists for help developing a healthy vegetarian or vegan diet, developing an eating plan to lose weight or gain muscle, or improving their sports performance by changing their diet. Nutritionists may be covered by health insurance depending on your reason for meeting with them. Nutrition counseling is more likely to be covered if it is part of a doctor-prescribed treatment for a particular medical condition, such as diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure or coronary heart disease. For example, Medicare covers medical nutrition therapy services only for people diagnosed with diabetes or kidney disease, as long as they get a referral from their doctor. Also, insurance providers more often cover nutrition visits if the patient has been referred to a registered dietitian within the carrier’s network of providers. Insurance plans vary greatly, so research your benefits before visiting a nutritionist.

What is a holistic wellness coach?

When you want to reach new heights with your health and wellness, consider hiring a holistic wellness coach. Much like a health coach, a holistic wellness coach is focused on your well-being and meets with you in one-on-one sessions to help you identify and reach your targeted goals. A holistic wellness coach will typically have you take all components of your life into account when working to achieve your goals. If your goal is to lose weight, a holistic wellness coach will not only offer recommendations for your diet and exercise, but also discuss your emotional health, your work/life balance, your spiritual side, and each area of your life that affects your ability to follow a nutrition and fitness plan.
