Working with Lisa-Beth was such a pleasure! Very kind, very professional, and such a diligent worker. I really felt like she cared about what I wanted as a customer. We both live on different sides of the city and she was very accommodating with meeting me at a midway point that would be convenient for the both of us. I'm a college student and even though I have not yet graduated, I really wanted to have a professional resume that I could 'wow' future employers and networking opportunities with. Upon our interaction Lisa-Beth listened intently and really got a feel of how I wanted to portray myself as a professional, and she translated that perfectly onto my resume. I couldn't be happier with the finished product! One thing that I really liked was the fact that Lisa-Beth kept in contact throughout our whole transaction, be it through email, phone, or text, she was always reachable and made sure to keep me updated. I'm very thrilled to have stumbled on to Maverick Consulting and I will definitely be using Lisa-Beth and her amazing talent in the future!
Carl was referred to us by a very happy, satisfied student. He has been tutoring my Junior daughter in Algebra 2. She has always been challenged in Math and saves all homework till last. Carl has been a "spark" in getting her to not "hate" it so much. He comes prepared, energetic and dedicated to gaining a clear understanding of the topic, while interjecting humor into this very dry subject. Carl has been instrumental in my daughters improved Algebra 2 grade! Hurray!
Lois is the most helpful teacher/mentor I have ever had the opportunity to work with. She is flexible about times and has helped me with many different writing and speaking projects. Lois has vast experience in many areas and knows how to make projects and learning enjoyable. She is willing to share her knowledge and insight. I am so glad that I hired her and will continue to go to her for all my speaking, writing, acting, film and academic needs. You will get custom help for a reasonable price- she is an amazing tutor. I cannot say enough about Thinque Prep and Joyee Lin. He is dedicated to his students success and does a very thorough job of preparing them for the ACT or SAT test. My son, Zack, who is very bright but requires a lot of patience worked with Joyee over the summer and brought his composite ACT score up from 30 to 33. His math score increased a full 4 pts. and he scored a 35 in English. Thinque Prep has other services related to tutoring and college application preparation. Zack will be working with Joyee on his college application essays. Joyee is in California and we are in Texas but this was never an issue as the sessions are done via video chat. The office manager Jen was great to work with and the appointment process was easy to navigate. I found the rates to be very competitive for like services. If there was a way to give extra stars I would!!
I am so thankful we found Jeff!!! We had worked previously with a different SAT tutor who clearly didn't know what he was doing. Although Jeff was priced higher than some of the other tutors on Thumbtack, I wanted to see if spending a little more would make a difference. It did - we just got the scores back, and my son raised his score by 400 points! I cannot recommend working with Jeff enough. My son loved having him come to the house. We will miss Jeff, but I hope others can have the type of experience we did. You won't regret it!
Daniel has tutored me through 2 years of college math including, calculus 2, calculus 3, linear algebra, and differential equations. He helped me on a weekly basis with homework assignments and preparing for tests. The way he taught cleared up all of my questions from lecture and changed my approach to math for the better. Thanks to Daniel's methods and thorough explanations, I earned A's in all my classes. If you seek a solid understanding of math and a professional tutor, I highly recommend Daniel.
Addy helped to find the right tutor for my kids, we hit a few bumps along the way but she came through at last
Excellent sessions with Arbor Tutors. They are a very professional and wonderful company to work with. Gladly giving them a 5 star review!
Daniel was very professional and went above and beyond to give the tutoring help I needed in a somewhat obscure math topic, which included him spending time researching and working through the problems before the tutoring session to ensure that he could answer all of my questions. I would recommend Daniel to anyone looking for a quality math tutor who invests himself in your success. Thanks again for all the help Daniel!!
I can't say emphatically enough how much my son gained from Rainbow: he took the Paving the Way to College workshop and used Rainbow tutors to prep for college entrance exams. A special shout out to Joe, who always made time and was so encouraging. The results speak for themselves: my son ultimately got to choose from numerous terrific colleges. Thank you, Rainbow!
Let me start off by saying George was not only the best tutor, but also hands down the best math teacher I have ever had in my life. I have struggled with math and have tried countless tutors, but math just never made sense. I took my college algebra class twice and was never close to understanding or passing the class. I found George only two weeks before my math final and was soo behind and honestly didn't believe I had a chance of passing, but he was able to cover almost an entire semester of math with me and broke it down in the clearest way possible. Thanks to George I finally was able to understand math and passed my class. He really cares about his students and gets excited to see you learning and actually made me excited about math and I never thought I would be able to say that. I had a great experience with George and would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for an awesome tutor.
Lola's SAT math prep tutoring was excellent. Her teaching style is patient, encouraging, insightful, and informative.
An excellent tutor for Statistics and Probability. Very insightful and extremely accommodating schedule wise. I recommend him highly.
Ray has been tutoring my daughter for over 3 months now and we have seen a great improvement in her math grade. I had tried three tutors before I found Ray and I am so thankful that we did. I explained to him that my daughter was having a difficult time in her Algebra class and that I was having a hard time explaining it, as it is the new common core method. I mentioned to him that my daughter is very shy and I wasn't sure he would get her to talk much but to my surprise, he really has done a great job in getting her to talk through each math problem. He engages my daughter and encourages questions especially when he suspects she isn't really sure on a particular math problem. I can't give enough praise to Ray; he is always on time and gets right to work, he never leaves unless he's sure my daughter understands the math lesson. My family and I are very pleased with the progress my daughter has made and we would highly recommend Ray to any parent that needs a math tutor.
I am very happy with the tutoring we received. They have thousands of Tutors all over the country. They can come to your house or offer online services. We tried both and I prefer online. Both are excellent choices.
I've never seen so many tutors from Harvard and Stanford and other great schools. I don't know how they do it, but I'm happy they do. Five-star service all the way.
I've been very bad at math my entire life. I flunked algebra three times before I called Arbor Tutors. The tutor was very understanding and nonjudgmental. I can highly recommend Arbor Tutors.
Arbor tutors is now my "go to" for any subject.Love them! Thanks sooo much!
I have a horrible science teacher but I was able to get excellent help from an Arbor tutor. Best tutors around. Fantastic deal.
If you want the best of the best, Todd Frost is the tutor to hire. My sixteen year old son has been struggling with math since middle school. I have literally spent thousand of dollars on tutoring programs that didn't work. I wish I would have found Todd back then, but better late than never. Thanks to Todd, my son is now on track and feels more confident in his current Geometry class.
After a couple less-than-stellar tutoring experiences via Thumbtack, I feel incredibly fortunate to have found Sol. My tutoring needs were somewhat unusual: after a 10-year hiatus, I needed to reacquaint myself with high school math in order to pass a placement test into a college-level calculus I course. Far easier said than done. Sol was up for the challenge, and knew just how to tackle it. After I had diligently dug out of my old textbooks from my parents' garage, Sol offered an anecdote about his dear friend and and former Cal-Tech college roommate when he was confronted with modern-day high school math. (Sol, you see, is not only an incredibly savvy tutoring professional, but also a retired JPL scientist--and a thoroughly interesting, thoughtful and personable man to boot.) As Sol's anecdote helped to illustrate, the scope of high school math has evolved in recent years, in ways even the former president of Hughes Aerospace, in a moment of complacency, would fail to appreciate. Pre-Calculus theses days focuses much more on the interpretation of graphs, and introduces concepts such as solving and plotting the inverse of linear and fractional equations, which wasn't even taught when I took the course circa 2000. At Sol's request, we set aside my old textbooks in favor of modern coursework that he provided. It was a few months later, at our last lesson, that I was able to truly appreciate how much Sol cares about his students. In his office, I happened to glance at a computer window where Sol had a folder with my name and files charting 'Goals', 'Progress' and 'Notes'. Sol's hard work and investment in my success paid off: on my placement test I scored a 98%--surpassing the score I had needed for calculus I and placing me into calculus II! As Sol predicted, the test had focused quite extensively on those more modern facets of pre-calculus that he had taught me. Now in calculus II, I feel utterly prepared, and only have Sol to thank. *Highly* recommended.
